Rooted Note 8 - Strange After Boot Behavior - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Hello Everyone,
I am not sure if I am posting at the right section,
but I really need Your help on this,
When My phone boots up, it loads Samsung Default Theme & settings(icons & Clock), then my Theme...?
Why...? is there a way to hide this behavior... so when the phone boots it loads my theme & settings directly...?
At least change the initial theme as in make it load black wallpaper then load my theme...
That way to would be less annoying...
I have Attached a GIF of my issue, Hoping someone been into such thing & has the solution...
Thank you all in advance...

You are right, that is strange behaviour... not seen it before to be honest.
Try reboot into TWRP and clear cache/dalvik ( will take 5 mins to boot up again first )
Try updating your Note 8 to latest firmware and then re-rooting
EDIT:
Have you tweaked your boot start up time? maybe your custom boot animation ends too quickly... before your settings have fully loaded. < this would make more sense to me.
Try a different Boot animation

The boot Animation is long because I made it,
Before Rooting the phone I updated the phone to the latest firmware...
However, I have a custom build.prop, could it be the problem...?

Lol wtf? Definately something wrong with your guys device! It should not be doing this!
Either of you disabled shed loads of stuff with a package disabler app? maybe one of those could be causing this?
Must be something that is causing this.

You need to delete the /dbdata/databases/com.teslacoilsw.widget-locker file. That should fix the problem you are having with the settings, and maybe the animation problem too.
Thanx for replay mate! But still no transition

Well, I went to the dev site and downloaded version 1.2.9. My problem was, when i unlocked the phone none of my widgets would be displayed. They were there, and i could click on them, but i could not see them.
Note: This was only when i was using a Live Wallpaper.
Version 2.0 didn't offer me any benefits, as i use a very simple lockscreen. The easiest fix was to downgrade.
Here is the link to the dev's site: http://widgetlocker.teslacoilsw.com/general/widgetlocker-1-2-9/

Switching back to 1.2.9 does show the unlock animation, but old version doesn't allow custom lock positioning and wltheme...
I have this problem as well. Interestingly it came only after a factory reset. I also lost my gingerbread "TV" lock animation after the reset and I have the feeling they are related. I wonder if any of you are also experiencing this.
EDIT: Selecting "all animations" did fix this

Wow! This app is just perfect! Instead of 300000 apps to all do one thing, just one to do everything!
Wow...im definetely goin to try this one out! THANK you for posting
Edit: is it compatible with the ICS port?
Still have bugs:
First, tried uninstalling three apps. It uninstalls the first two and then gets stuck trying to uninstall the third. Tested this a few times with same result.
Second, tried making a backup of the rom which didn't work. It just reboots the phone without creating a backup. It's too dependent on Rom Manager which is a shame.
Third, tried installing a new font using this tool. It appeared to have installed it but there was no option to actually apply the new font.
If the above items would get fixed it would be a perfect app.

[MOD][XtreStoLite] Ambient Display for XtreStoLite Marshmallow

I tried this mod ONLY on XtreStoLite for G920F model.
If you wanna test this on other carriers using same rom, please BACKUP first.
If something goes wrong, just RESTORE!
Let me be very clear: I am not responsible if your device explodes, your dog runs away, your wife leaves you for your dog, the shoe factory shuts down and
you can't get your favourite shoes anymore or anything else that may or may not happen after using this script. Please make a FULL BACKUP, possibly from TWRP. You have been warned.

Hi guys, I edited the "framework-res.apk" file of XtreStoLite ROM adding Ambient Display feature like on Nexus (Android 5.0+). Surely it works on G920F, tested personally, if you wanna try on other S6 just try yourself.
I followed this guide. Credits to him.
///INSTALL:
- Flash the zip "AmbientDisplay-vX.X"
- Reboot
///UNINSTALL:
- Flash the zip "framework_restore"
- Reboot
Simple as it looks.
///BUGS:
- Gyroscope and proximity sensor not working for ambient display
- Touchscreen not working when screen fades (have to press power or home button first)
- Screen wake animation doesn't work (no fade)
- On edge model night clock won't work
- Every 3 dot menu animation will present a sort of lag/no animation
- Not working properly with Samsung "Good Lock" UI
///DOWNLOAD:
Each version I provide will be compatible ONLY with the one I write (example: ambient v3.3 --> xtrestolite v3.3)
- v3.3 installer
- v3.3 uninstaller
- v3.3.1 installer
- v3.3.1 uninstaller

There are lots of versions of stock rom, lots of different firmwares and I can't download every single firmware for extracting, decompile and recompile framework. So I just limit this mod for XtreStoLite.
Obliviously you can try adding yourself following the guide I linked in OP.

This will require you to reinstall The PEH firmware and reroot. Once done The new rom will flash files not a system.img any more. The zip file will be alot smaller. You must decide if you want to use Google IncallUI or Samsung InCallUI. Samsung InCallUI will allow too still receive and switch to video calls and the google IncallUI will only support HD calling. To switch to google IncallUI goto settings/applications click on default applications choose calling app and click on the blue phone app. To switch back to samsung IncallUI is a little more complicated. You will need an app like root explorer and goto data/system/users/0 and then findthe setting_secure.xml and delete and then restart phone. This will restore samsung IncallUI as default
You will also want to turn edge features off since everthing is deleted
Also you need to goto SuperSU app and goto settings and click on enable su during boot and also click trust system users
Goto this thread and under Recommended Next Steps find the S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_V15.zip or latest version and flash to fix kernel lage and doze fix.
Goto setting/about phone
Click on build number 5 times to enable developer options
Change animation and duration scales to .05 this will speed up phone
You will also have to change charging/file mode from within developer options
Remember Wiping Dalvik cache will cause phone to take up to 10 min to boot on deodexed roms
If using samsung IncallUI here is a fix for call phone FC and also location service fix

I didnt mean for my reply to come across rude. I just thought since the OP looks like the other one you thought it was the same. This is basically nothing but a bootable rom with like 5 apps installed thats it there are over 180 running apps removed. I kind of thought it would be cool to be able to build your rom how ever you want it without having to worry about what you can delete and what you cannot. I appreciate the support especially on new development. Understand I have many threads and and other devices so i sometimes keep my answers short and direct especially when using the mobile app which I hate using.

Ok, that is what I thought. I just was trying to determine if there was anything else major missing from that other ROM, knowing some apps would have to be pulled or installed, hence your "Playstore" moniker for this ROM. Ok, this is a good clean base ROM for those who like to order "a la carte" down the road when the need for other features are required. I may give it a spin for the fun of it.
Cool! We are good.

I'm using the Google incall with no issues at all. Probably no need to flash if that's what you're using.
So far the ROM is nearly perfect.
Having some MMS issues again. It only works when Wifi is turned off or not connected to a network.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I even flashed your fix it ZIP.

I actually found one of the battery saver apps to be causing the issue. I think it was amplify through xposed, it caused the mobile data to turn off when connected to wifi. So, i turned it off and haven't had an issue since.

Does anyone have working Xposed module on rooted Stock rom (S251) for Lenovo P2?

Dear xdains,
My Lenovo P2 is running Android N stock rom (S251_ROW) and rooted systemlessly with Magisk.
I can run pretty much any root app on the phone except xposed module. I've tried all different versions of xposed. I have installed latest Xposed installer. Tired it via TWRP's zip flashing, tried it via in-app installation, tried version 88.1, 88.2 for SDK24 and even version 89. However, every time phone gets stuck on boot animation screen.(blue dots on white background).
My main intention of installing Xposed is to change the default (boring) system animation. (Transition effect).
I've even tried stratum but only can make few cosmetic changes but touching the transition animation bricks the phone.
I didn't get any solution apart from flashing an AOSP based ROM or Lineage ROM etc.
I don't want to go for any custom ROM because isn't the whole point of rooting is to gain full control over the phone and make the current system work as we wish?
So, any expert, please tell me why does the stock ROM doesn't support Xposed? I mean, technically what is preventing it? What files should be modified to support Xposed on stock ROM?
If anyone knows any way to make xposed module work on Lenovo P2's latest stock rom S251 or to change transition animation/effect on the same, please let the community know.
Thanks.
