Hi,
I am thinking about buying some LeEco phone, as I see it can be bought for quite good price around 110-130$ (however I probably need to add 20% tax when it arrives to my country in EU).
Which one would you recommend and why? And where to get it for the best price?
So far I saw X626 for around 110$ on Aliexpress (or slightly more on some eshops like Tomtop) with 4 GB RAM and Mediatek CPU, or X520 for 120$ on Tomtop with just 3 GB RAM and Snapdragon 652.
X626 looks like better pefrormance/price option, but it seems that X520 has lower battery drain and there are alternative ROMs available for it.
The rest of specs is the same (camera, QuickCharge 3.0 etc)?
I am a bit confused with the camera performance - some reviews say it is quite good, but others say it makes blurry and washed out photos. What is your experience?
Is there any chance how to get LTE on 800/900 MHz working with any of those, or only internetional version X527 can do that (which is probably not available for such low price)? Any chance that some of them will get Android 7/8?
Hardware wise it's a good device for the price. Be aware however that there isn't any support from the company. If you buy this phone, you are committing to diving into rooting, flashing ROM's, flashing recoveries, and all sorts of fiddling with the device to get it to do what you want
emkorial: Yes, I have no problem with performing rooting and flashing ROM. However you didn't answer my questions on X626 vs X520, camera performance etc.
Even more confusing is the fact that some sellers on Aliexpress are offering Le 3 X626 with 21 Mpx camera...is it any special version with Sony camera module instead of Omnivision ?
Better u do not buy Leeco as there is no support.
So best optiion to buy any other MI phone
Not a good buy now
Once upon a time, LeEco was in a good position to defeat Xiaomi with its budget offerings. But now, with the company's future becoming a question mard, it wouldn't be wise to buy a device from it. The existing devices has stopped receiving OS updates. There are a lot of other good alternatives to consider
I shot the x820 6g 64gb 6 month ago. It's a great Phone! The FP ist ****ed up but i do not need it... And after the next bigger issue i will change to a custom Rom (Lineage). I had two xiaomis before and i think that MIUI is nice, but the Updates are never perfect and it comes anytime to some new Bugs. I think the x720 ist very interesting too. And There are some new Models on the Market in the Close future (x850..). The Hardware of leeco is much better for the Same Money..Look at kimovil for less Money Check the x522.

Im thinking buying a mi 5 ?But overall the mi 5 is a good phone?
Well, there are tens of reviews on internet if you want more specific information.
I don't think Mi5 is a budget phone. More than that it is a flagship phone with surprisingly low price. Great design, camera, display etc. I can't find anything better with that money.
Only weak thing in my opinion is MIUI and locked bootloader. I personally don't like it too much. But as long as custom rom development is good, you can fix it. Of course you need a little effort to unlock the phone and install custom rom.
Apart from MIUI I would suggest this phone to anyone who wants not too big display. Now I suggest this phone to anyone who is ready to put a little extra effort and time to make it even better.
Been using MI5 for over a month now. I even unlocked bootloader and custom roms and went back to stock. Snapdragon 820 spec and cheap price, you wont go wrong, though u must consider if network bands in ur area is compatible with this devce
If you can get it at the advertised price or close then there is nothing better at that price point. You really are getting a flagship phone at a budget price.
I like MIUI v8. It is a huge improvement over the previous versions and very stable as I have never had any issues (stock stable China ROM). Lots of useful features, nice theme. Updates every couple of months to include latest fixes and security patches. Nougat will arrive soon I hope. Also have your choice of China, EU, or Global rom.
SD820 is still one of the best around. Battery life is excellent. Build quality is very nice but slippery. Lovely display. Nice size for me. Has an IR blaster that I find useful now and again when traveling. Dual-sim works perfectly and unlike a lot of other flagship phones, it works with 4G/LTE and 3G at the same time which is tremendously useful if traveling to countries that have no 2G network.
Only slight negative is that the camera isn't up there with the best of the best (Apple and Samsung), it's just good.
I am about to buy a new phone, to have at least 2-3 years and i want it to be future proof.
I have to choose between MI5 and NOTE 3 PRO.
The price difference is 70$. Does it worth the extra bucks?
Which one of this devices has better development ? I am really intrested to have a good dev support (lineage, ressurection, nitrogen, xenon and kernels)
Which one should i chose? Which one is more resitent ?
Same company but different commercial line (of product): high-end and medium-low-end; with different hardware "particles" inside and different screen sizes and different weights...
Advice: If you are going for the lowest model of the high-end and comparing that with the highest model of the medium-low-end ... you are not doing a good job in the decision-making process.
The MI company is famous for the MIUI (their rom) and .... are expanding around the world but, for now, they have a presence in their motherland and in the asian market (mostly India); the rest are resellers.
So you should consider, for the final decision, the nation in wich will operate your device.
And if you really want (it's the first item in your wish/need list) a "dev supported device" maybe the MI company is not the best one for you.

I am talking about xda devs software support and i saw it has Lineage official. How it is compared to NOTE 3 PRO?
And the difference between them is only 70$..
So do you think it worths the extra bucks?
Does mi5 have construction problems or heating/throtthling specific for sd820?
Mi5

Go for the Mi5, it's lighter thinner and the GPU is a lot better.
It's been my main phone for a year now and hasn't let me down once.
And lot's of support for it, LineageOS 14.1 is running great.
The Note 3 pro does have a lot longer battery life thanks to the 4000mah battery vs 3000mah and the SD625 is more energy efficient.
I usually recommend the Note 3 to 9/10 people, since battery life > games.
Although it will run all games just fine, i doubt you can run Google Daydream on it like i am on my Mi5.
As for overheating and build quality neither of them have any problems whatsoever, the SD820 doesn't have the problems the SD830 had.

The Redmi Note 3 is more popular and has better development. But that doesn't mean development for the Mi 5 is bad. And since almost all ROMs are AOSP or CM based these days, the scene is pretty much the same between the two. It's the better phone. If you have the money, the choice is simple really. It's camera, display and performance is excellent, and development is good. It's got Gorilla Glass 4 as well, which is a bonus. Battery life is okay, so if that's a concern you might be better of with the Note 3.
With the recent rumors on OP4/5 specs and release date should I get the OP3T or wait ?
I can't stay 2 or 3 more months with the state of my current phone btw.
U can buy!!!
If you are not worried about cosmetic changes like dual curved display(rumour) and all then u can definetly go with op3t because i beleive sd 835 performance relative to sd 821 will be neglible.
did you own your oneplus device?
if not, go and buy 3T without waiting.

Not so sure about it. From Snapdragon 820 to 821 there isn't a huge gap, but from Snapdragon 821 to 835, there will much differencies, like "revisited" Fast Charge for example.
I have bought One+1, One+2, and One+3, and have all of them within my family. So, I think I have the necessary authority to comment on the matter.
If you want a simple answer, it would be "yes, please go for it."
The complicated answer would be, it would depend on your situation.
If you don't have a primary driver and need a smartphone urgently, go get the OnePlus 3T. Don't wait for the next iteration as it will not be worth the trouble if you don't have a phone like 3T.
But if you already have a primary driver then advice you to wait for a couple of months.
By the way, my primary driver is One+ 1, with no regrets. I look down on other phones no matter how new, because One+1 still manages to perform and look better than them. You can call me a "phonist" (like the racist), you know what I mean.

there will be relatively big differences but there will not be big performance differences, like it might be deca-core but it will be low GHz so almost obsolete difference, really there will just be cool differences that we will all love to try and make the most of but really within a month it'll be like eh basically the same.
I don't understand posts like this....if you always wait til the next upgrade you'd never buy a phone!
The 3t is already touted as one of the best phones around (for the money it certainly is), so why hesitate? The OS is in a good state, its reliable and fast and has only been out a couple of months. Personally I think it could do with a bigger battery - fast charge is a poor way to go about reducing the size (and cost) of batteries in devices. People want longevity, not having to carry around chargers incase it doesn't make the end of the day! I wish manufacturers would start listening and putting in bigger batteries. My Huawei Mate 9 Porsche has a 4000 mah battery and has no problem reaching the end of the day yet the device is the same size as the OP3T!
The screen could be better too. But its certainly zippy non laggy and ticks all the right boxes.
Hi guys.i am in a dilemma.i want to buy a nokia phone wich one do you prefer for buying?7 plus or 8?actually price of both of them are the same in our country but 7 plus is a little more expensive. Android pie is enough for me and as i searched a little, android q doesnt have lots differences versus of pie.
If you really have to choose a Nokia device, go for 8. It has a much better chipset and screen, and those two will be defining your experience. Camera in 7 Plus is a bit better, overall it's a bigger phone, with bigger screen. Stock camera app is really poor, so you'd be better with GCam mod. Nokia 7 Plus is a bit more popular device, so if you like modding, you'll find more there. Battery life looks similar.
But in full honesty, avoid Nokia. Their phones look nice and are priced decently, but software support is garbage. Nokia 8 was updated to Pie in December, but major compass bug was fixed this month. Maybe HMD will understand one day, that releasing 20 phones a year for such a new and small brand means sacrifices in software department.

Ty sir for your opinion.what do yo think about Samsung galaxy A x0 series?i like nokia 8 because its very fast and powerful and its enough for next 3 or 4 years.
Nokia 8 is a solid device, don't get me wrong. But if you care for fast and reliable software updates, well it's not here. Also, the camera is closer to a mid-range, than a flagship.
If you can sacrifice those 2 things, take Nokia 8 and you'll be happy with it. I'm definitely sticking to mine, even if I find those 2 things a little annoying, overall experience is really great.
I'm trying to stay away from mid-range devices personally. I'd rather take an older flagship, than a modern mid-ranger, cause manufacturers usually treat flagships better, they also perform better and the community always finds a way to fix some annoyances. Well, usually that's the case, Nokia 8 seems to be an exception.

Ty again.yes i know.older flagship is better than a modern mid ranger.in my country if you want to sell your phonw,if you have a samsung device you can sell it easily.but if you have nokia or sony or Huawei,it will be very difficult to sell it.i have sony xperia z3plus and I put a fair price on it but nobody like it. Because of that i am in a dilemma. If i buy nokia 8 i dont know how i can sell it in the future but samsung galaxy a30 (the mid ranger which i want to buy it) it can easily sell in the future, what is your idea about this.
Bro ihave another question, does nokia8 have any problem about red hollow and color on its display?
Well, you have to decide on your own, if you can live with a mid-range device. I know I don't like the idea, so my choice always goes with flagships.
The only "problem" with the screen I've found is that it has a blue-ish tint. But it's easily fixable with blue light filters/night mode slider.

That depends on you.
Nokia 8 = Snapdragon 835
Nokia 7 plus = Snapdragon 660
Nokia 8. Has flagship processes. So gaming on the phone will be very good with high frame rate
Greetings,
I've been browsing the sub for a bit and watched a few reviews about the phone because I have a pretty great deal for one and might consider buying it. I tried it out for a few minutes in a store the other day and it feels and looks great.
There seems to be a lot of negative talk, mostly against the fact that 1+ is now just a flagship, which I don't care too much about. Nor do I for the camera or selfie-notch or whatever.
Are the software issues and such really that annoying to deal with? Are there other phones you'd recommend instead? Am I better off just hoping the 11 is a greater phone and keeping my 7Pro for now?
Pre-thanks for the answers!
It is a great phone however if your fussy, like to modify and customize ect (live for the root) then you will find it frustrating
I find it's great, once i overcame the things i hated and removed, or rewrote some bits to get the outcome i wanted. Ease of use is great, camera is 9/10 IMO. It is a good phone regardless

good phone but don't buy ne2215 single sim i was f****d
Just a tough question.
If you want a great phone with superb performance and amazing hardware, plus an battery that just doesn't quit then yes.
But if you're expecting a flashers paradise which is what most OnePlus buyers want then I'm afraid the answer is a solid no, at least for now.
Any phone I've ever had before if it's going to prove to be a developers haven, we would already have ROMs popping up all over the place, alas with the 10 pro it's just not the case, then again neither is it with the pixel 6 or pro.
I hope it's not a sign of things to come, but for now it's a far cry from everybody's previous device.
Even the threads on XDA are convoluted and confusing, especially on the app.
I'd say look elsewhere but at least on paper, the two aforementioned devices are the best that is currently on offer.
Difficult time to buy unless you don't mind last gens phone. In which case I'd say go 8 pro or the 9 if flashing ROMs is your thing.
I hope it turns around but time is ticking away and the longer it goes on the slimmer the chances.
Pixel 6 Pro NOT worth buying !
After many bugs, new offer from google : "no network" (not from SIM , not from wifi). In the USA.

Would the nothing phone be worth considering?
Aesthetically it's a stunner IMO...

I Hate rounded phones (dildo like), rounded corners, curved screen (useless expensive creap).

XDA has been terrible over the years. The search feature is so flawed now it almost seems like a waste of time to tell people to search for anything. The app is garbage now and basically was a slap in the face to users who had to pay for the premium app back in the day to get good usability.

Not that they're selling it in the US to begin with but I couldn't do a 778G+ chip. Gotta have a flagship. There is a massive gap between 778G+ and 8 gen 1.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vs Snapdragon 778G Plus: tests and benchmarks
We put Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 against 778G Plus to find out which SoC is better. See performance comparison in benchmarks and games.
nanoreview.net
I had to go to a custom ROM thanks to OnePlus throttling the SoC on my 9 because the browsing performance was garbage without the X1 core and the 778G+ Geekbench single core score is similar to the throttled 9 performance. Thanks but no thanks.
Yes, the Nothing phone 778G+ chip is a big step backwards!
If money is a problem, Nothing phone is good. Nothing is around 470 euro, 10 Pro - 919 euro (8/128)
And SD 778 is the best performance processor for midrangers phones.
I like Very Much the design of OnePlus 10R (global Ace)
