Hello guys,
I just got a P9 this week, but I'm facing a problem with notifications. I need to open the app to get notification. If I don't open the apps, I don't need notification (WhatsApp, Facebook).
Can anyone help with it ? There is a way to solve this ?
For Whatsapp you can make a widget from the app on your homescreen. Now the app is forced to run in the background and you get notifications. An other solution is to convert your apps into a system app. You can also go to settings>apps>settings>special access>Ignore Battery Optimization and click on the dropdown and select all apps. Then search Whatsapp and click on it. Then press allow.

Why I am not getting what's app message notification when what's app is not open?. Only I get the message notifications when whatsapp is opened. Also the new message notification is not shown in the whatsapp icon. The same issue in the gmail also. New message notifications are not shown in the app icons of all the applications even for Facebook and messager
you might want to check in the secured applications if Whatsapp and Gmail are checked or not, if not, check them and it should work.
you can also download and install Push Notifications Fixer which for me, solved the problem of the delayed notifications

Dear
I have made what's app, gmail as protected app/ secured and also kept active in the power intensive apps, but even then the push notifications are not working when apps not opened. Also I installed push notifications fixer and is solving the problem . Kindly let me know any other option to set it right. I didn't face this problem in p6. Does the firmware of p6 B 512 work in p7-L10 ?? If works then I will use it.QUOTE=PrimuSSaintS;55299737]you might want to check in the secured applications if Whatsapp and Gmail are checked or not, if not, check them and it should work.

Hi,
I have some wierd Notification problems; For example Apps like the Facebook Messenger or Slack only send notifications when I open the app itself;
I already added those apps to autostart and locked them in the recent app overview. But they still don't appear;
Whatsapp and Gmail seem to work fine?
Do you guys have any idea?
Cheers,

Hi all,
I have add the likes of Viber and Whatsapp to the protected app list, but still once the app is closed it stops getting push notifications.
Have played around with the battery manager, but still no luck.
Has anyone got a fix or workaround for this?
Thanks
Paul
have you tried enabling notification acess from settings>notification panel and statusbar>notification manager and giving acess to each app to show notification on different aspects.
Put these apps in the whitelist (protected apps)
Did you disable background data for those apps?
So I'm using Huawei P10 and my problem is Push notifications not working. I've missed tons of message in Reddit,Viber,Gmail,Messenger and other apps, it only updates when I open the apps, How can I enable notifications for them and at the same time i want to preserve battery

Did you get a solution for this?
You need to go into battery settings. There is an option called "close apps on screen lock" or something similar. There you need to whitelist apps from which you want to receive notifications. Apps that are not whitelisted will be closed when you lock your screen and they will only refresh when you open the app again.
Hey all, I hope somebody can help me out with this. I've noticed this problem with multiple apps but I will continue my description with Whatsapp as it's the most important to me.
It seems to be random, but some (becoming most) times I don't receive any notifications from whatsapp. When i open the app, i can see the app "updating" and receiving all the messages that were sent to me since the previous launch.
I have gone to the battery management and turned whatsapp to manual mode with all 3 options enabled (auto launch, secondary app launch and background usage)
I've also turned on unlimited data restrictions for the app.
I'm still facing the same issue. Anybody else out there facing the same thing with whatsapp or any other app? Any ideas how to fix this?
Same problem messaged Huawei and got a real crap guide on how to fix it . There "fix" was to hard reset the phone which we all know a new phone should work out of the box what good is a hard reset going to do apart from wipe the phone
It could be a network issue. Sometimes when am on wifi every notification comes on time(tested it with my second phone). When i switch on 4g , notification can have a considerable delay. And not only watsapp. Instagram facebook gmail you name it.

Have you try to put out whatsapp from battery optimization apps...
Settings, Apps, Apps, press 4 dots upper right corner, special access (or something like that), exclude whatsapp or any other app from battery optimization
My notfications are working, but sometimes it doesn't play the notification sound for whatsapp. It seems to be random, does anybody know how to fix this?
