Is there any such thing as a "compatible" case, or even just a thin sheet of metal to slide in the case that matches the magnet location on the Mophie Charge force system? I think that that's such a great system.
I know Mophie is working on the Note 8 lineup but they are pretty steep in price. I have a friend who has a spare Charge Force vent mount so if I had a compatible case or magnets in the right spots, it would be an amazing way to charge in the car. I haven't had luck in any other wireless car magnetic chargers.

Can anyone explain to me why the Samsung Qi Back and Qi Charger would not work with a case (Say a SPigen Tough Armor) or other thin case? I understand it is a magnetic force and inductive charger, but we are not talking otter box thickness. I'm wondering why it wouldn't work if I put the back on and slid it into the case.

The Qi back is larger and doesn't fit in any current case well. That is the only issue.
I have a thin Spigen case on my Nexus and was wondering if any of you would know if a portable Qi charger would work if I put it in my pocket with my phone? Do any of you have any recommendations for batteries?
qi stone+. if you look in the accessory sub forum you will find many posts on this.
i use the qi stone in a front pocket on a phone case. i slip the phone in the case and the outer pouch has the stone in it and it charges as if it wa a charging sleeve. works well when i need it to.
but the qi stone+ is good on its own. you can power it and it has a usb port to power other gear.
This battery case is phenomenal and has plenty of extra boost at the touch of a button. Comes with an extra microusb to microusb. The case with the phone is a little over an inch thick. I'd definitely recommend this beast of a case!
While I love the case I have a few issues with it.
-When I charge the device at night it charges the phone and the pack. Problem is at some point it stops charging the phone and I wake up to 80%-90% or so battery life on the phone
-No belt clip. BIG deal! I am a big guy and putting this giant thing in my pocket is a big pain in the ass. I have to dedicate an entire pocket to the phone. Impossible to do in nice dress pants.
-No real protection. The TPU is cheap to say the least. Its little more then a rubber layer comparable to any 5-10$ chinese case. I am used to my kit for the Note 2 from Zerolemon. It had a nice hard shell wrapped in a nice tight tpu with a plastic screen protector. Miles more durable. The TPU does not fit the phone tightly. Its loose enough that particles easily find there way between the phone and the TPU.
A few nice things to say:
-I had not considered how much use the extra usb port would give me. I now leave my external battery home and charge my tablet and BT speaker from my phone. Its one solution for all my gear and its enough to get me through most any day.
-The charging time is pretty decent. Even when charging my tablet. Its as fast as most wall chargers.
-The TPU does not attract dirt as bad as some do.
-The headphone jack does not require an extender. I tried several different headphones. Even with a right angle they all fit perfectly and without issue.
-The battery pack is perfect for keeping my phone and tablet juiced for an entier 8-12 hour work day.
I just thought I would let anyone interested know that the otterbox commuter case will not work with the latest wireless fast charging stand. It's too thick for the induction coils to pass through. Both are great products though. I just have to take my phone out of the case when I go to bed and put it on charge lol.
I hate taking my case off to charge and happen to find a good case that actually works with the charger.

It doesn't seem to charge when the stand is in the upright position with the case on but charges fine laying flat with the case on.
I also noticed that the charger is fast, but not as fast as just using the plug the old fashion way. With or without the case... Doesn't matter.

the military case is very nice and easy to slip the phone in and out of. it takes me literally like 4 seconds to pop it out. its a nice case--quality and not too over the top looking like some of these nonsense cases ive seen.
but yea i dont want to make that a habit and i prefer wireless over wired.
the alcantara was my go to case from jump street but had to wait to get it. it has no issues on the sammy charging leather couch.. :silly:
