For a few weeks now, my MOTO X Pure will not connect to my Bluetooth/RF Radio Transmitter, Flexsmart X2, I need to do a reboot of my phone and wait for Do Not Disturb goes away, then I can connect. I wonder if this NFC Change has any bearing on it, https://androidcommunity.com/your-android-phonetablet-can-no-longer-be-unlocked-by-nfc-device-20170929/, I am still running Stock 6.0 on my XT1575 (Build MPHS24.49-18-16) Dec 1, 2016 Security Patch), nothing else has changed except for Google Play updates just about daily.

I have flashed the official google images. MRA58K and MRA58R - both have the following issue:
I'll outline it logistically:
* I connect bluetooth to my 2013 Honda Accord
* When I dial a phone number from the nexus device OR using the car's bluetooth menu the bluetooth disconnects
* the phone continues to call the person
* after the person answers the phone and says hello a few times, the phone reconnects to bluetooth
* the phone call goes on as normal. At this point I have a 20% rate of failure where the phone call connects for a few minutes and then the phone just hangs up on the person randomly. The other 80% of the time the phone call goes correctly without hitch after this point.
I've found the following thread here that seems to outline my problem exactly: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/SaoZyWfkX94;context-place=forum/nexus
Add me to the list of people whose Bluetooth connectivity has suffered after upgrading from Lollipop to Marshmallow (on my Nexus 5). All was working perfectly in my 2015 Honda Accord, connecting to their HandsFreeLink software to make and receive calls. Now calls do go out, but you cannot hear the phone "ringing", and the radio comes back on again until the call is completed, when you suddenly hear the caller say "hello." Also many instances of poor call connection (unusable screeching sounds or very garbled speech). Did everything except reset to factory settings: wiped cache, reset the phone to the car's bluetooth, etc. Waiting hopefully for the 6.0.1 update to save the day….

I am also having almost the exact same issue.
I have yet to find a working solution. In the meantime, all I could do is go back to 5.1.1.
Also, M developer preview 1, 2 and 3 all work fine.

This must be a very widespread issue, I wonder why it's not getting any coverage here?

OK. I finally got it working right.
I will tell you what I did in case you want to try it, if you are comfortable flashing a CM13 alpha.
While on 5.1.1 lmy48y, I flashed CM13 Alpha cm-13.0-20151124-UNOFFICIAL found here.
And gapps found here.
I kept the 5.1.1 bootloader and radio, and have not had any issues.
I am using Elemental kernel 3.06.
And I also formatted my device to remove encryption.
So far so good. No more weird behavior on my CRV blue-tooth.
I don't think that the kernel makes a difference, but that is what I am using and have not tried with any others after getting this working combination.
Hope this helps.
6.0.1 Stock fixes bluetooth issues.
Just in case anyone is still having these issues. I just downloaded and installed stock 6.0.1 and everything is now working great.
Cheers.

I am running stock 6.0.1 and my bluetooth doesn't work. At all. Annoying.
6.0.1 introduced a slew of other Bluetooth issues. Because it links phone and BT accessory volume levels (before this they were separate,) this causes some headsets to be stuck on max volume no matter what you do. Rendered my LG HBS-730 useless.
Am getting 100% bluesleep / msm_serial_ds wakelocks on various ROMs using a pebble watch. This makes using Bluetooth and my watch unusable due to radically reduced battery. Any ideas?

True. I had not noticed the bluetooth volume bug, but it is there.
They finally fixed it in N Preview. Hopefully this rolls out as part of monthly security updates for 6.0.1 as well.
I am on N, and Since Marshmallow, i have not been able to pair in my Acura TL bluetooth. Same issue with N. Every other phone before or after has or is working well with my Acura TL. So I KNOW it's not the Vehicle, and I know it's not the phone. I can pair my Nexus 6 with a bluetooth speaker, a bluetooth headset, a NON factory bluetooth DIN radio, and a Bluetooth NON factory In vehicle hands free (GROM) without any issues. Somehow, there is a slight change that is affecting CERTAIN devices prior to marshmallow, that is present now.
I have read about activating the GPS, and trying to sync the phone to the Acura Bluetooth... this has made NO difference. Bluetooth will eventually timeout.
My HTC Desire 10i (Pro Dual Sim) factory unlocked device just now received a 192mb size incremental update. The update took a good 20 minutes to complete. No cosmetic changes found. Mine is a factory unlocked device which might be meant for Taiwan/Myanmar markets but I am using it here in Canada Fido network with no issues except for weak signal occasionally.
Details:
Android version: 6.0.
Software Number: 2.22.709.2
Android Security Patch Level: March 1, 2018
Did anyone else receive this or similar update? Also an unrelated question. I see that my device doesn't have HTC Music or HTC Gallery. Instead, it comes with Google Photos and Google Music. Is there a way to get access to HTC's own music and gallery applications that can be fully functional in this device? I don't want to either unlock bootloader or root device. Any valuable inputs are welcome.

Yes I did receive the update (update citing improvements on a Chinese carrier LTE service) after manually checking for it.
HTC are using Google apps now because they want to at least make Sense Home more streamlined with a more stock Android feel (plus I imagine that they want to cut down on the hassle of maintaining their propriety apps)
So you either use the stock Google apps or download third-party apps for what you are looking for.

How is your phone behaving on the Bluetooth front after this update? Bluetooth was never solid in this phone but I find it has gotten worse after this update. It loses Bluetooth connections very frequently; like every five minutes. Any idea?

prmbasheer,
Bluetooth is fine for me, granted I have used it with something that requires a prolonged connection, but I will test it out with my Bluetooth headset just to be sure, I only transfer small files with Bluetooth but I have switched to transfer via wireless which is much faster of course, I will test it out during the weekend and I will let you know if I have the same issue or not.
Cheers

Hey there, I tested my Bluetooth headset (skull candy sb2) for more than 12 hours and I am to report that I did not experience any connection interruptions.
Perhaps the radio on your phone needs to be checked, but can I be frank, this phone is ok, not great by all means, they [htc] obviously have no plans for future OS updates, my advice to you is sell this phone and get a new one, I'll probably do the same down the road, that's just my opinion.
Cheers.

This device is widely reported for Bluetooth issues. I am glad your device has no such issues. I am using a smartwatch and the same earphones you tried. So, it is basically two devices I need to be connected to this phone but it fails terribly. Every 5 - 10 minutes one of the devices keep disconnecting and reconnecting. So, now I have started using my other phone (LG G6) and this is stored for later use or as you suggested, a sale.

Since the installation of the Oct 2018 security patch, bluetooth has become very unreliable. The connection to my car disconnects about every 3-4 minutes. 1-2 times per day I need to re-pair the phone and car. Is anyone else having issues? Solutions? I am about ready to completely reset my phone to see if it helps.

Go into Developer Options and change "Bluetooth AVRCP Version" from 1.5 to 1.4, reboot your phone, and re-pair the devices. Should fix it.

I had dropped all the way back to 1.3. Seems much more stable. I will try 1.4 soon.

Hi,
android auto disconnects when there is no phone signal - anybody has also this problem ?
(I have VW Discover Pro unit and phone Lenovo P2.)
Same issue with Galaxy S9+ Duos and Mercedes CLA 180. Let's hope that the new rolling version of AA has this bug solved. It's an old bug... At the beginning I thought that was the cable, then I observed the same behaviour.

Yepp, same happens with PocoF1 and Hyundai i40.
so we have to wait, maybe new update will solve this problem
I saw a discussion regarding the new AA. It seems that the new interface will be remotely activated on the phones from the google server side and not directly by the app.
This means that it's an culprit in the AA code and when it's loosing the server connection reacts like this.
Did anyone tried offline maps from Google? Maybe it's an protection to third party apps for navigation.

After updating AA there are still disconnects. But AA restarts automatically, which was not the case.
Android Auto v4.6 still disconecting
For anyone reading this in 2030, when this problem is surely still not resolved yet... I'm running into the same problem (Also VW - maybe it is a bug in their implementation?), my solution so far is to drive with airplane mode turned on. I would love to debug this, maybe fix the bug with a modified apk, but I'm not sure how to reproduce it in a controlled environment, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Still not fixed as of October 13th 2022
December 2022, Pixel 7 Pro and the problem still exists. Happened on my P5 and P6 before this too
June 2023.
We're screwed, aren't we? We wouldn't be having such issues with Carplay...
I think after the last update the Pixel 4 XL now starts a Bluetooth call and ends after one or two rings. I use it a lot around the house and really liked it but now it just stopped working. The phone being called keeps ringing and if they pick up there is no sound. On my end I see the call being made in the Pixels screen and then it just seems to hang up or end the call after one ring.
Android 11
Feb 5, 2021 security update
Jan 1, 2021 Google Play
Build number RQ1a.210205.004
Tried removing pairing from both the Pixel and Bluetooth (I've used this device with a few phones for a few years now it's never done this) device and adding them again and it still hangs up after 10-15 seconds.
Calling directly from the Pixel seems to work.

Finally found a easy Solution for this issue (on Pixel 4a 5G):
January 2021 android 11 update
Activate developer options
Settings
About Phone
click 7 times on build-number, confirm
go back to settings
... system
... advanced
... developer options
Find [Bluetooth AVRCP-Version]
Standard setting was 1.2
Change setting to 1.6
Find [Bluetooth MAP-Version] (should be right below)
Standard setting was MAP 1.1
Change setting to MAP 1.4
Restart device
Hopefully this can solve the issue for you all as well.
