I am looking to replace my galaxy SII for two main reasons.
The battery- I got, perhaps a faulty battery, but you can fully charge it and 1 hour later it has no battery left. Does the Note have a better battery life than the SII?
Runs warm- does the Galaxy note run as warm as the S2 while doing normal tasks, like using 3g and browsing?
The note does not run warm when doing normal tasks. The only time mine gets hot is when its been running satnav for 30mins.
You will love the nite.

Perhaps you had a faulty battery? I think you know you had a faulty battery.
Yes the Note has got better battery life than the SII.
I have noticed the Note does get a little warm sometimes. But not overly. Nothing that would bring concern.
It sounds like your SII is fried the heat and battery problems are most likely linked. The reason the phone gets so hot is because the battery is discharging so quickly.
Battery life greater than s2

Something IS faulty, whether it's your battery or not. No phone should only last 1 hour. Even the worst performing smartphone being tortured will last 3+ hours. And I'm talking about rebooting, flashing, streaming HD video over LTE etc.
The Galaxy Note is very similar to the S2 same cpu/chipset etc. If you do a search for something like "hot" in the Gnote forums you will find many posts. But, that doesn't mean it should be of much concern. If those are really your only two reasons why you want to upgrade then I suggest trying to replace/refund/repair the phone you have know, because the battery loss & heat are probably related issues. But, if you want a larger screened phone then by all means upgrade to the Note.
i've bought my galaxy note a year and a half ago , i am facing a high battery drain those days , i thought of buying a new batter from amazon there is this one : http://www.amazon.com/2700mAh-GT-N7...371&sr=8-3&keywords=galaxy+note+n7000+battery
and that one : http://www.amazon.com/Onite-2750mAh...372&sr=8-7&keywords=galaxy+note+n7000+battery
what do you recommend guys ?
I had changed my battery after a year, and noticed a visible improvement. I think the mobile batteries need to be replaced every 1-1.5 years for optimal usage, its a shame everyone is offering non-replaceable batteries. Thank god Samsung is yet providing high end phones with user replaceable batteries.. I would suggest with sticking with Samsung OEM batteries.
If you got a nokia phone better get a new phone. but you got our love note then get a new battery

Hello, I have been using the Note PRO 12.2 since it came out. I am very satisfied with the battery life. Recently, I took out my Note 2 and used it for a few days. I found that its battery life does not satisfy my daily use. Taking a short video and a few photos from a fully charged Note 2 dropped the battery life a lot. How is the battery life of Note 5 compared with the Note PRO 12.2?
For those of you who upgraded to the Note 7 coming from a Note 5, how does the battery life compare in real world usage?
I know on paper, its a 16% increase, but is it a noticeable improvement in day to day use?
Do the higher specs and the always on actually cancel out the increase in battery capacity so that the typical battery life is roughly the same as what you experienced with the Note 5?
I've tried reading reviews and scoured through youtube reviews of the Note 7 but could not get much on this particular subject.
Thank you in advance for any helpful input! :victory:
I had the note 5 since the launch date same thing with the note 7. I noticed the battery life is a bit better. My note 5 barely got 5:30 hours but yesterday I got 6 hours and still had 30% of battery life left.
