[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.8.7.x for Kirin variant

Be sure You have unlocked Your bootloader before.
I don't have this variant of P8, it was already tested but still please report any issues and I'll try to fix them.
Remember it's for Kirin version only.
INSTALLATION:
Just flash it via Fastboot and You should be fine. There's also a possibility to flash it via 'dd' in adb shell, it works too.

Update: The version for Kirin has been tested and it works, so You can flash it and test more without being afraid that You would break anything Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the report from Qcom variant user.
Kirin version is okay, but Qcom version made issues so I won't release it.

OP has rectified the issue.
So thread cleaned and lets stick to development talk now. :good:

Thanks alot for the Recovery. I got my phone today and have in the mean time asked Huawei to release the kernel source for ALE-21/23 and they have replyed to me. Here are the kernel sources: http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=103. As soon as I have time I will look into building a custom rom for the P8 Lite

Well i hope so its the only thing left that doesnt work it seems the sys device is not loading correctly. I will continue looking into it and let u know once it works.

Sadly BOD2 modem don't exist so no link for that.

Managed to get the phone to boot using the bootloader and kernel from the links above but its completely messed up my phone. When I touch the screen it actually presses an inch lower. I cant even run through set up.

Mate some guys flashed rom works perfect only some bugs.
USE twrp do full wipe system,data,dalvik find 5.0.1 kernel emotion kernel works ı think.
Flash rom no reboot flash kernel thats it.

OK your rom flashed fine it was the kernel that's screwed up my phone but it's the official note 4 kernel so i don't understand why its happened.

Ok I've tried flashing your rom again and have now just flashed the official stock firmware and my screen is still not working properly...please help?

I everyone, i've found a MIUI 8 ROM on bbs zuk forums lenovo, after many hundred retry to download it on Baidu, with Jdownloader, after test it every seems working well, but there is no many translations (Maybe someone could work on it and clean crapwares chinese softwares ? Jbart tool don't working on my Linux distribution), and the Zip replace recovery with a chinese only twrp recovery, don't forget to restore your recovery after flashing the rom.

Infortunatly they don't have release source code yet, version show beta mention... And many parts of MIUI 8 are not open source, right ? :-/

this is a ZUK based rom. According to some members in the QQ group, the UV and Heart Sensor work fine[maybe].

there is no bugs?

So far its working fine. I had to root and uninstall some chinese apps and play around with gapps but finally its working flawless. There is no uhealth app and I don't know if the heart rate and oxygen sensors are working but I don't need it anyway.
I think this rom its the best ROM i've used with my Z2P. (I use also a Xiaomi MI5S so maybe I'm biased..)

Can this zip be flashed with TWRP? Coz last time I tried flashing MIUI zip through TWRP, it said that there was some compatibility issue between the software i.e. MIUI zip and the hardware, which is my phone redmi 2 1gb Indian retail.

Tbh, nothing excited me. I installed it (previously was on NucleaROM) and while it was downloading I was thinking that I'll be losing my Google Assistant but if the rom is great then it is worth losing it. After using the rom for like 6 hours, I found out only battery life is great, and this rom is really not worth losing the Assistant. So came back to NucleaROM!

As far I can see there are two *official* roms using Android pie. (meaning we can get regular OTA updates)
1) Havoc-OS-2.3-[9.0]-[Official][stable][TREBLE] by Hard_Rock83
2) Ressurection remix 7 with Android pie [Official]

Whoever has tried both, which do you suggest?
I want regular OTA updates and as few bugs as possible.
Also has the previous audio distortion issue, which crackling sound been resolved? (I remember oreo roms had that issue)

I am on Havoc 2.9 unofficial it works fine.
I tried this RR7 but it never booted on my phone. I wonder if it is official v7 then why still not on XDA.
About sound are you talking about echo duing call?

About sound I mean the issue oreo roms had.
That was the loudspeaker (bottom speaker) made a cracking distorted sound on low bass notes.
It was like it could not play low frequencies correctly. And that was the reason I released some impulse files for viper

I didn't noticed any of that on pie roms. Only two bugs, you can't control in call volume, bit slow charging. So basically pie roms are rock solid daily driver.
