I think the color saturation and accuracy is all over the place, at least out of the box.
I'm not sure yet if it's the display of the unit or the way it's calibrated, or if it's just me, coming from an AMOLED display.
I've played around with the settings in display>color temperature and I've found that if you set the temperature to 12 o'clock it's better. At least the greens and reds don't look washed up anymore.
Attached a screenshot of my settings.
That being said is there anyone that can share some tips on correctly calibrating the colors of this display or is this simply a really cheap LCD unit?
For comparisons, regardless of the settings, the now similarly priced p10 has a better looking display ( I paid around 50$ less for this one than what the p10 was priced at the time).
Just my 2cents.
Forgot the screenshot of my color settings
Maybe wanna try this. I haven't tried it but it looks like gets the job done.

The colors look washed out. Being an LCD, the blacks tend to be grayish, but it's a lot more than that. All colors look a little bit dull to my eyes.

With the various customs roms on the H918, some have the color control app which really makes a difference. Almost like having a sammy again. Note 7 RIP.
I'm a hardcore Sammy fan boy but I have to say that as far as color reproduction goes, this phone is better than the s7 edge and the note 7. I'm not a big fan of LCD but I am very impressed with this phone as far as color accuracy goes.

not really that bad since i use comfort mode.
For what it's worth, my VS995 seems to have over-saturated green a little. No biggie since my kernel has KCAL.

noticeably better than my Note 5 screen when it comes to natural color grading. btw, I can easily adjust the color temperature in a flexible scale from extreme cold to extreme warm.
It's an OK panel, compared to the Note 8 this screen looks washed out

Even though the colors are not oversaturated they are 100 percent color accurate a feature that many phones cannot reproduce.

100% legible. With auto-brightness, it turns up the display power similar to how my Galaxy Note 8 would with extra saturation/punchy color.
It's easy to read at night at lowest brightness and outside at highest. Surprisingly powerful lcd display.
