Please tell me these actually work. I am desperate for any ROM for the XT1710-01 variant. I will go as far as paying.

Thank you so much,it works on xt1710-08 well, just backup EFS in trwp just in case of no signal, after flash this rom in twrp, restore EFS and enjoy it.Also, you can root it with flashing magisk

So the 118-19-6 is good for the XT1710-01 Retail directly from Motorola?
I'm on the stock 118-9 version, Security Update of July 1st, and Android 7.1.1. No OTA update available when I check.
Are these 7.1.2 yet?
THANKS

This is from a US unlocked Z2 Play.
The model number is XT1710-01.
Are the listed firmware versions proper for my model?

Dude, what did I just say? I DON'T KNOW.
I'm sure it will work, but it may take you off your official upgrade path.
And with no fastboot file available for your current software version, I would take a full TWRP backup and copy to pc for safekeeping before trying anything.

Noooo, please restore! I've been using the steps and files provided to get rid of the annoying "an update is available" notifications on my rooted XT1710-09!
And yesterday a new one has appeared...

Indeed please restore it can't hurt having it up here

We don't even have custom roms, this is the closest we can get for now. Please post more builds!

I'm going to buy my z2 play bike at the end of the year and it's a shame not to have an updated lite rom. Probably you should be doing a good job.
It would be nice to have a rom lite for ALL MODEL with deodex, delete more apps OTA / CCC / CCE, OTA process is deleted, remove a lot of the background services collect and send data on the type of phone (DropBox, MotoCare , MotoConntect, Drive and etc).

Updated the OP with the latest retail build NPSS26.118-19-11.
Unlike most carrier unlocked moto devices, which tend to have multiple upgrade paths for different regions, the albus seems to have only one upgrade path for the retail variant so far.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, and please post the OTA files for alternate upgrade paths if you have them; directions are in the OP.
I have linked the tools I use to create these at the bottom of the OP.
You can use these tools and info in their threads to reverse engineer the stock build and modify it to your liking.

Thank you so much now i can have the latest update for my rooted moto thanks a lot

I have an unlocked Moto Z2 Play XT1710-01 and this is the latest update I am seeing:
NPSS26.118-24-6

The file name structure doesn't have anything to do with the date it was made afaik.
That update is for "albus_c" and not "albus". I'm not sure what the difference is.
Apparently, there are multiple upgrade paths after all.
Flashing this will likely take you off your current upgrade path, but it is safe, so you can always go back to your previous stock build if you want.

Thanks @Q9Nap!
I've attempted to follow your instructions about applying OTA via TWRP, but that fails because of mismatching thumbprint - which sounds odd since I've downloaded and attempted to flash on exactly the same device...
Anyway, I'll try soon to flash the full stock ROM, after download from the link you've re-posted.

Flashable ZIP - Android L Radio and Bootloader

Android version 6.0.1 bootloader and radio files updated January 7, 2016
Hello all.
I created a few flashable ZIP files which will install the radio and bootloader images from Android 5.0.x, 5.1.x or 6.0.x depending on your choice.
To install the Android 6.0.1 radio (M8974A-2.0.50.2.28) and bootloader (HHZ12k), flash the following ZIP in recovery:
The file is N5_AndroidM_6.0.x-MMB29S_Radio+Bootloader.zip, MD5 9fef18abade89f85fe13b37320b740bd, size 22.7MB.
You can download it here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24352994023708028
---
To install the Android 5.1.1 radio (M8974A-2.0.50.2.26) and bootloader (HHZ12h), flash the following ZIP in recovery:
The file is N5_AndroidL_5.1.x-LMY48M_Radio+Bootloader.zip, MD5 c90de28bf48e9461a13c6617c9d792ce, size 22.7MB.
You can download it here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347812405
---
To install the latest Android 5.0.x radio (M8974A-2.0.50.2.22) and bootloader (HHZ12d), flash this ZIP in recovery:
The file is N5_AndroidL_5.0.x-LRX22C_Radio+Bootloader.zip, MD5 4c9861bfe068d232340e961aa7726767, size 22.6MB.
You can download it here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347812506
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Separate radio frm the zip
Thanks for this.
I already have the updated radio. Could you please split the zip in two, with the updated bootloader separate from the radio.

I suppose I can, though it doesn't change anything to flash the same radio version on top of itself, so you could just flash the whole thing to update the bootloader. The only reason there would be to split it up would be if you wanted to keep a different radio version than the one in the zip.
Are these updated files? Google factory images are at LRX21O but I've seen threads here that have LRX21V in the name, suggesting there's an update of some kind but I'm unable to find any info regarding this with my searches lol.
I'm just trying to update my wife's nexus 5 with factory files (no custom ROM's) as she just wants her phone to work and not have any instability unlike what I do with my phone haha.
She's had it say no network sometimes, I wonder if Google released this update to the radio to address a bug? Or where did you get these files from? Just wondering

Yes, these are from the Google factory images. Specifically, the factory images for the Nexus 5. You can see all of the released Nexus factory images here. As you can see, LRX21O is still the latest version released for the Nexus 5. It seems as though other devices have had images released with "higher" letters, for instance LRX21V is the build number for the latest Nexus Player factory image. My guess is that Google makes device-specific changes to Android and then updates only those devices that would benefit, though I have nothing to back that up.
In any case, the radio and bootloader have been the same versions throughout all builds of Android 5.0 for the Nexus 5 so far, and the latest of those builds is LRX21O. This ZIP does contain the latest and greatest that we have officially available at the moment. I'll do my best to keep it updated should that ever change.

Thanks for this info. When I installed the bigxie stock Lollipop flashable ROM, the OP included a link to the updated radio. But the bootloader was not updated to the latest.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...-android-4-4-3-ktu84m-rooted-busybox-t2557523
So if the latest bootloader is available as a separate flashable zip that would be best. However I've yet to find a link for such.
No problem!

Well like i said a couple posts above there's no harm in flashing the same version radio on top of itself, so even if all you want is to update the bootloader (and as long as ths radio in the ZIP is the same version you want to keep), this will work just fine.
Maybe a stupid question but I prefer to be on the safe side.... If I flash this file on my device (Nexus 5 of course) actually rooted with custom KK rom and TWRP. Will this wipe the data in the SD card (flashing a new bootloader) or is it safe ?
Thanks

Nope! No wiping, perfectly safe.
Thx for all your help and clarifying things
I was just wondering why some threads in the nexus 5 section were referencing LRX21V in the titles cuz like u said LRX21O is the latest out by Google for nexus 5
Simply and easy to upgrade the bootloader. Thanks!
Thanks ! :good:
If we flashed the lollipop factory image I assume we have the latest bootloader?
Thank you for this file! I was already running the latest radio but I needed the boot loader update!
Why does everyone care about latest bootloader update so much?
Just wondering

For myself just wanting to learn the diff.
Can locate no documentation or changelog.
The Android 5.0 LRX21O - Stock/Flashable ROM I installed did not install the updated bootloader, which I believe came out for the Lollipop Preview back in October,
Just to make sure I don't have to fix anything after I do this process.
If I flashed Cataclysm ROM for Android 5.0, I need to install this correct?

yes, thanks! Its working fine - only issue was that Play Services wanted an update, but Play Store wouldn't give option to update. My fix for this was to go to Play Store on my PC, sign into google acount and push the update to the phone, which then updated automatically afterward.
took maybe 15-20 mins to install from zip, then another 3-5 mins to clear cache afterward.
I should note this was installed on a Consumer Cellular XT1064 with a locked bootloader. Also, I've half-ass documented my update path and gave you credit here
Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

nope - just xt1064
Blur_Version.21.11.23.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US. zip
this signifies that it's for US retail AWS version only - you could try and update, but it should just reject it after checking for current build.
This will only work if you have an xt1064 currently on build 21.11.23
I want it, but
Trying to install the OTA I get the message that my build.prop has unexpected contents, does any one have the original?
with this build 21.11.23.titan_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03reteu ? i can use this update -us ?
i am running 21.11.23.titan_retuglb.retuglb.en.US retus on my moto g 2014-xt1063, can i use this OTA without problem?
Successful Installation, but Something Odd Happened
Hey, thanks for the OTA! I updated it successfully, but after I did so and my phone said "Completed install from sdcard," I decided to wipe cache from recovery. As soon as I selected the "wipe cache partition" button, an android logo came up with a segmented loading bar that went on for a few minutes until the phone just booted. I'd love to know why this happened; I'm a bit worried. The next time I went into recovery, which was not long after, and I selected "wipe cache," nothing out of the usual happened, it just notified me in text that it was wiping cache. Replies are appreciated!
I just realized there is a separate area to post questions. Regrets on my previous questions clustering the original thread.
Could you please help me out as I don't fully understand the file naming conventions and step-by-step process here.
I have a white XT1064 with 21.11.17 system version and Kitkat 4.4.4.
What I don't understand is why there are three OTA files on the Google Drive link? Given my phone version is 21.11.17 which file do I flash first (i.e., the 21.11.17 OTA or the 21.11.23 OTA?). And then what do I do after that? Appreciate any further details please.

Not sure where the 21.11.23 ota is for XT1064, but in the link above search for the correct firmware ( the link in my thread is for XT1063, but they have 1064 under titan firmware)
This will get you to the .23 firmware, then apply the 22.21.25 ota for XT1064 which is somewhere in general section.
I need to be in stock 21.11.23 firmware and then flash the 21.11.23 OTA ?
Also do I manually flash the 21.11.23 firmware or recovery flash it?

Android System Update *root* 24.6 MB........

I was hoping someone could help me out with this......
I've been getting this irritating "Android System Update" (screenshot attached) week after week.
I'm rooted (unlocked bootloader), running stock 5.1.1
This update keeps showing up and when I go to install it, the phone reboots, then it goes it TWRP. I'm assuming this hasn't installed correctly because it keeps coming back.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this or install it correctly. It's becoming quite annoying when it pops up time after time.
Thank you-

I'll try to patch one of these updates this weekend when I have some time off.
I'm the gatekeeper for all that is Android OS in my family. Myself, my Mom and now my Dad all have Nexus 6' and I've rooted us all. So I install it on my phone first and then the same with theirs.
I was so happy I found a fix for the MLB At Bat app and their stupid blackout rules.
This is just great, been having the same issue and versions
This covered everything I had at the moment!
I applied the update tonight, sick of those damn OTA prompts.
This is where I got mine from, but still not sure if I chose the right one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/fxz-nexus-6-recovery-flashable-fastboot-t3066052
Installed the download from:
LVY48F (5.1.1 Project Fi bugfix update 20150910)
It says Project Fi only, but I have no idea what that is. I didn't see an option for LVY48I, so I went with LVY48F.
Did I do this right?
Want to make sure I didn't screw up my phone.
I tried installing the OEM ROM from here, but it failed while trying to flash it via TWRP recovery:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#shamu
"5.1.1 (LMY48I)"
Anyone?

Security Update OPSS27.104-92-2

I am getting a nag screen to update to opss27.104-92-2 but I can't because I have rooted the phone. I noticed a similar question about the last update and there was a way to manually do the update. Does anyone know where to get the files for this security update so that I can do a manual install.
Alternative, does anyone know where the file is stored on the phone once it is downloaded? If I can find the file then I can probably unzip it and do a manual install.
Thanks

You can't unzip it and try to apply it. It doesn't work that way. You either have to wait until a full firmware package with this update in it is released or reflash a stock system that matches the one you're on. You would need to flash the entire stock firmware. Then you can boot back to the system and take the update normally.

I guess I will have to wait until some is kind enough to post a manual install version.
Thanks

There won't likely be a way to install an update on rooted stock. You have to fastboot flash the firmware you're currently on (to remove modifications to system, boot.img, etc), then take the update. That IS the manual method. It should be stored in /cache. The /cache that's in the root directory of the phone. Which G6 do you have?

When I talked about doing the update the manual way, I was talking about doing it the way it is described in this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/help/security-update-to-opws27-113-45-4-wont-t3818421
Hopefully, someone will extract the relevant files from the update and give instructions on manually doing the update. I really wouldn't call restoring the device to stalk and taking the automated update and then re-rooting the manual way. I would call that the hard way.

That thread literally says install the stock firmware. You have to wait for the entire firmware for the new build to be released. no one is extracting anything from any update package. They are just using the full firmware package in that thread. You just have to wait for the full firmware to be posted on mirrors.lollinet.com the November patch for my G6 play was just posted there yesterday. that's why I asked which version of the G6 you have I will link you to the full firmware.
Or, You just fastboot flash stock, take the update, fastboot TWRP, use TWRP to flash magisk. No data loss, easy peasy.
the only difference in those two ways is taking the update after you flash stock or flashing stock firmware including the update. Either way you have to root your device again.
You can even flash stock with RSDlite using service file.xml instead of flashfile.xml
the file they are flashing with fastboot in that thread is the stock firmware. Just the newer one.
I was browsing for firmware today, the newest build/security patch is available on the lollinet Moto under Ali fw

Thanks for doing this!
What command do I run if I just want to update the phone, but keep all of my data?

Assuming your on an older build of stock (e.g. 27.1.3) and want to update to this version, flashall.bat will update you. flashall_then_recovery.bat will also upgrade and also setup for installing root. For non-stock builds and newer android versions (Pie) there may be some issues with database versions and other niche issues (e.g. Camera and root based apps storing files in different locations because of new Pie limitations). I always back up all my apps+data using Titanium backup before any changes, helps prevent a lot of hassle.
Edit: Additionally, if you've checked for updates before the updater may still think you have an update. It's best to clear the updater's appdata once the flashall completes. (I may add this to a future version)

I've replied to you in the Z2 discord. I may need to make the file a bit more verbose. I'll update it after work today.
Worked for me, thank you OP. Said update unsuccessful after booting, but the build number shows 27.1.5 now.

Do you have another version of fastboot and ADB installed somewhere? Additionally try another cable/USB port.
I was trying to go with LineageOS 16.0 (to get me some PIE!!!) but it kept borking on me... and then I was in boot-loop hell!!! This FlashAll got me back to functional and I may just stick with it. Pie might be newer, but stable & reliable are most important for me. Thanks so much for putting this package together! Maybe T-mobile/ATT/Sprint should hire the devs from this forum to help them 1) get Pie out for the Z2 Force and 2) honor their commitments. Boohoo... it's too much work for them to build & test the package.... but it wasn't too much for them to hold our their hand and take hundreds of $$$ from each of us, was it?

Thanks for the feedback! I do agree that it's extremely disappointing only the Verizon variants are getting Pie, but hey, they gotta upsell that 5G mod somehow...
I am aware of the 27.1.7 update and will be creating an flashall for it soon
Various users have reported 27.1.7 is causing networking issues. I will not be releasing a flashall for this until this is fixed

Can you post the link to 27.1.7?
I looked on mirrors.lolinet.com and it is not posted there yet.
I will try my own flashall and report back
