I've got a G2 and the OTA that was pushed at the beginning of November gave me a much needed function for wifi calling when I am in Manila, which is every couple months. My coworker has the Galaxy S and is in Manila now and wants to know if his phone has the functionality. I haven't been able to find anything on it being part of the stock functions, so I'm asking here. His phone isn't rooted or hacked in any way, so I'm just wondering if it is something he would have received an update for, or if it would have to be rooted first? Thanks in advance? I tried a search, but wasn't able to find what I'm looking for. If you know of a thread I can send him to, that would be great too. Thanks again!
Can anyone help me on this? I don't have the phone near me, so I can't verify the settings. I wouldn't ask if I was able to find out any other way, but searches aren't coming up with anything. Too many posts on wifi to find something on wifi calling.
I don't think there are any stock apps that let you do wifi voice calling. However, you may want to give skype a try. I managed to get it working with voice but there is no video calling yet. Maybe in the future.
apparently the new froyo build being pushed or the tmobile vibrrant has a wifi calling app.. can anyone get it so we can get it working on our galaxy s'
thanks in advance
Try "Tango" app (your coworker has to install "Tango" aswell).
Try CSipSimple, and sign a voip plan, like justvoip. Setup your sip number and enjoy, works very well here.

Hello everyone! I am new to these forums but I wanted to post because I have tried every single setting known to google it seems to get my phone working since going over from ATT to ATT Straight Talk. I have the S3 Mini running 4.2.2
The problem is that I can not send Picture Messages or MMS or receive them! I am getting 4G and the internet works great! I can make and send calls just fine, I can send regular texts with no pictures and receive them just great no issues. I just can not find out how to get the picture messaging going. I thought ok I can at least come to the largest forums on the planet for Android and see if I can talk with someone who has the same phone on the same network and get this thing working. I am willing to try any setting, I have been through what I know as ever single APN and nothing gets the pictures to work. Once more thanks so much and I hope that someone out there can offer me some help on this.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Hello,
I have an unlocked and rooted Tmobile phone with cricket service.
I have added the recommended APN from
Code:
www*cricketwireless*com/support/apps-and-services/bring-your-own-device-byod/customer/bring-your-own-android.html
when I browse the internet and do speed test everything is very stable and fast.
I am having some issues with MMS and the only way to send and receive pictures is to restart the phone.
to send one picture i click on attach image and click send then restart and picture is sent.. the same thing for receiving.
has anyone encountered this glitch? any ideas to fix this.
Never heard of this on a tmo phone on tmo network, I'm actually surprised that our phones will do anything other than data on cricket since we're GSM and when I used cricket it was CDMA.
Have you tried switching apps? If it doesn't do it in Textra then you'll know if it's an app problem or if it does then it's a system problem
cricket wireless was bought by AT&T so they use the same towers and GSM network
yes that is what I am using Textra

What app are you using? I usually use hangouts and noticed today that my MMS wasn't coming through. I never had an issue before today. I switched to the stock messaging app and it works fine, sending and receiving. I'm using an unlocked T-Mobile note 4 on AT&T.

i finally found the issue, i had to uninstall adblock and everything is back to normal

I got unlocked S10e yesterday and when I put my sim in, the phone restarted to get carrier settings. All seems to be working, but I don't have the option in the dialer for VVM and any voicemail comes as a standard(not visual). As a plan B, I downloaded T-Mobile's VVM app and it works. I also have Pixel 2 and it comes with build in VVM

This! Does anyone know how to display TMobile vm in the built in dialer? I never figured that out on my note 9 and instead had to use the stupid and ugly TMobile visual voicemail app. My unlocked international Huawei mate 20 pro shows my TMobile VMS within it's dialer, why can't Samsung do the same!?
I don't think we can

I have been bashing my head against the wall trying to get this figured out as well. I bought the Note 9 U1 (Unlocked) version from BestBuy and flashed the beta version of TMo firmware on it, and built-in VVM worked fine.
Same process on my S10 is not yielding the same results, and it's really frustrating.
I also bought one for my wife, and we still can't use the Chat function in the default SMS app, because I am not going to flash her to the TMo firmware until I make sure VVM will work. TMo's VVM app is like someone started to make an app, then just vomited pink kool aid all over it and called it a day.
I talked to TMo support about it, and they ultimately told me that the only one they can support is the TMo app, not the built in one.
I did this for my note8 I wonder if it'll work for s10

I just use YouMail for voicemail. It works great for me.
google voice as well
I don't think you can, not unless you flash the TMobile firmware.
Btw... I'm also on TMobile, and I have all unanswered/unreachable calls forwarded to my google voice account (so it effectively is my voice mail).

Do you have o use the google voice app just for your voicemail? Does it transcribe it?
I've always found it odd that someone can use an unlocked phone using a T-Mobile or AT&T sim with MVNOs and they can get VVM or wifi calling, but AT&T and T-Mobile can't give those features to their direct customers. I have an AT&T sim in my unlocked S10 like I did with an unlocked S9 and have an MVNO for my carrier, yet I have always had both wifi calling and visual voicemail. That makes me believe AT&T and T-Mobile can activate these services on an unlocked phone, they just don't want to.

Yes, it does transcribe it. I think TMobile charges you extra for transcription?
The nice thing about Google Voice is that you can also use it as a secondary line, you can check your voicemail via web, and you can set any mobile number you have from any carrier forward to your google voice #, so your voicemails are retained even after switching carriers.
However, unlocked or not, it doesn't integrate with your dialer and you still need separate app for it.
