unoffical clear cover Always on Display - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Hi,
i use a unoffical clear case Cover in combination with Always on Display. But when i close the Cover after one Minute the aod turn off. On Official Cover (with nfc Chip or something) there's a option in AoD setting for clear Cover Support....
Any idea how to enable this "hidden" Option? i decompile settings + aod but find nothing to Show that Option or something else?!

Q Light Sensor Screen WakeUp App?

Is there app that works like ipad smart cover that when you lift (with note pull it out from case) it would light up screen...=?
I think the app "Smart Screen Off" would do what you are looking for.
theres a liite version you could try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.android.smartscreenoff&feature=search_result
Haven't tried it myself so not sure how good it is.

Smart View Sensor

Hi all
My other phones with smart view cases have a small magnetic dot within the case which appears to trigger the wake/sleep part of their smart view functionality.
My existing case for my beloved P20 Pro is not smart but does offer good protection so I want to use this. When using tasker/ittt as a custom 'open to wake up' type affair, I end up with a device manager lock screen.
I'm hoping to place a small disk akin to the magnets in my other cases within my current flip case.
TL;DR
Does anyone know where the sensor is for the smart view (i know it isn't simply proximity)
Thanks everyone

Does EU global miui 11 on mi 9 have "Smart Cover Mode" ?

Hello,
I would like to enable the Smart Cover Mode on my mi 9 but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
I found a thread in mi 9T that indicated it was in Lock & password -> Advanced settings -> Smart Cover Mode but I don't have these "Advance settings" anymore.
So my question is : does it exist ?
If yes, where do I find it ?
Thank you in advance.
1. What is Smart Cover Mode supposed to do?
2. There is no Lock and password setting, there is a setting called Password and security if this is what you mean.
I can only guess that you mean an equivalent to the Samsung thing with the same name that is triggered by a magnet in the cover. Since Xiaomi doesn't make covers I highly doubt that there has ever been a cover-setting here.
Not that I know of. I once used an Asus Zenfone 2 and it does have that function where when you use a flip case that supports smart cover, the screen will turn on when you open the cover and sleep when you close it. The Xiaomi MiPad 4 has that function.
Mi 9 hasn't Hall sensor

Question Rear display

In the leaked videos, the user was able to show the homescreen with icons on the rear display. Was that any early MIUI version option only?
In the current firmware, it's not possible... Laybe later?
Anyway, I don't see myself using an app on it, it's really small for that, + it'd require UI changes from the devs...

I would like to use it to answer with speaker or decline calls. Also use it for quick responses to text.
I have noticed I can skip songs on the Spotify playlist when it's playing by accidentally touching the rear display
( I haven't found anything useful to do with it yet tbh and I hope they improve the functionality of it )
Ohh nice! As of now it's pretty early, I'm sure they'll add those little things during updates

I haven't found any way to enable that home screen in rear panel but I haven't been trying either tbh
I don't think I'm getting the red notification light on the rear display either like it shows in the Xiaomi presentation vids but maybe I just need to enable it somehow
I usually don't set my phone's with the screen facing downwards on tables anyway so it's got limited usefulness to me anyway whether it works or not

The latest update to the 'Rear Display' app breaks the red notification indicator as far as I can tell.
But to enable it/change appearance
go to settings>special features>rear display.

I'm on the EU 12.5.3 and I like it but I think I have no red light flashing on the back screen for notifications although it is enabled in the settings...
One of the issues is the rear screen can only stay on for 30 seconds max which maybe why people think the notification is not working properly ( because you would have to double tap to see it even if it is working properly)
And who likes to set their phone face down anyway? These screens are fragile and very expensive !
Honestly think they just had a screenshot of their home screen and made it the image I never actually seen anyone able to use the mini screen
Yeah they haven't ironed the kinks out pertaining to the rear display.
Out of the box, I had the red led indicator show up although it would be there even when I had no notifications.
I like it as a novelty feature but they really need to address the functionality bit.

Question fingerprint unlock from screen off

Hello, I am new owner of Pixel 7.
-I came from Huawei P30 and on that phone when I touched the screen (when it was off) it inmediatelly scanned my finger and unlocked/opened the device. Is this also possible on Pixel phones? I havenĀ“t found it in the settings.
-How can I set the blue eye filter to turn on and off automatically at desired time?
Thank you.
Hey, you can with the app AoD notify (Notification Light for Pixel). But you need to use an adb command. It uses you always on display and replaces it with his own (black one) So you have a completly Black AoD and the fingerprint scanner is always on.
You have to use the settings like in the Attachment.

Those attachments aren't English. No idea what they are showing.
Neither do I but what does 'patched you are finished' mean? Hmm..
Don't need no battery chewing app, just turn on the AOD that's it. Without AOD, you just need to tap or lift the phone, which is enough in most cases.
My problem is the fingerprint icon is below the actual sensor. So i have to intentionally place the thumb in higher position.
