Been awhile, but oreo!

So today, I was out helping my mother, and her s7 edge said it had a pending software update. It happened to be android oreo, I'll get the sw baseband version and everything shortly

Android version:8.0.0
Samsung experience version:9.0
Baseband version:G935AUCU4CRE4
Kernel version: 3.18.71-13527040
Build number:R15NW.G935AUCU4CRE4

It isn't my phone, so I didn't note the software version previously, but it had the April security update previously to oreo.

7.0 stock.

I'm using the beta and it's not pulling the update from their servers. Guess I need to flash back to bra1

My update just showed. Downloading now. Download speeds are painfully slow. I'm guessing due to high volume. Now if we could only find an easy option for root.

Do you have to have a att sim in or does it not matter...Been smashing the button

Just started in Jersey, excited to see some love for this phone!

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm not getting the update. Mine is unlocked and use an t mobile sim card but nothing

You will only receive the OTA update if you are using an AT&T SIM. There is another thread in this forum that you can use to download the updates and flash manually. Make sure you back your data up.

I really hope they fixed this cpu frequency thing... It destroys the potential of this great phone and make it unusable.

The October update already fixed the problem, try resetting the phone if you are experiencing a problem or reinstalling the ROM using MiFlash.

I didnt mean the bug connected witch fp sensor... and i already reinstalled with MiFlash

And Wifi issue.....horrible

I read on Reddit that many ppl got the November security update for mi a2 but I still don't have it. I tried restarting phone etc but nothing. Does it have to do with my installed language and the country I live and I will get it when it's ready for my region?

It didn't work

Received another OTA by the betatesters, it is not change from beta to stable but has been installed with the whole weight somewhat curious. It is V.9.6.17.0.ODIMIFE (stable nomenclature and Based on 8.1)

Yea, (in case we are having 'a bit of fun'), a Nokia 7 Plus developer while developing the patch had put a video of his and his wife's foreplay (and probably postplay, seriously who knows?) on the system for 'educational purposes', and by mistake pushed it with the update, after realizing what he did, they had to pull the update down, this is the reason why even those who updated to Nov patch are still showing Oct patch and those who have already updated are the lucky lot, Nokia is allegedly paying bribes to them to not leak the footage and have prohibited to release the patch.

I think your unit of N7p is a joke. Contact with your Nokia support or go to store and ask why you have still Oreo.

[TA-1012] Downgrade from Oreo/Pie to Nougat

Hi everyone.
I have a Nokia 8 for months, and I tried to downgrade my phone but I'm still stuck atm.

From what I understood, there isn't prepatched boot image for security patches above November, so I can't flash other firmwares...
Is there a way that I can rollback to NOUGAT by updating first to Pie ? And with april patch ?
I'm wondering if I could have Nougat one day

I'll answer my own post since I managed to do it :
So I used NOST to flash NB1-303A-0-00WW-B01.nb0 (the first Nougat firmware for TA-1012) and it worked like a charm.

Yeah but I juste realized what was the issue.
The past months, I've been using NOST 0.5, and it didn't worked at all (many errors...). But I just saw that the developer updated to NOST 0.6, hence why it's working

To use NOST you need critical unlocked bootloader. you can refer to NOST thread to know how to critical unlock.

Battery, RAM and CPU consumption.
On ALL of my devices, I compared the oldest ROM with the next one and I always get better results on an old ROM. I mean, new firmwares are for new phones and can't be adapted perfectly to old devices in order to keep the same consumption.
It's like updating apps, in most of the case, your phone will lag more and more when you update your apps.
