Zerolemon 5500 only 69% efficiency? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accessories

Just ran some numbers and something seems odd.
The ad claims 115% more battery - that's 3795 mah
The battery also says it's 5500 mah
So that totals 69%
Are most batteries that low. I thought that 80% was the average u get from most batteries. I understand there is loss from resistance/heat, but I didn't think it was 31%. I really don't know much about the science but can someone explain?

Just got this in the mail. Looks exactly like the zerolemon without the name. I paid 16 bucks for it.

It's likely a 3.7V 5500mah battery. They didn't lie on the cell rating but what they don't tell you is that it's being converted into 5V vs the 3.7. Do the math on a 5 V cell and convert. It's probably more like 90%
I hate how they use trickery in their advertising. That's how all the cheap Chinese manufacturers claim that high output on battery banks even though it's no where near what's expected.

I paid 50 like a fool and it came from China. Works well but why so darn heavy. I used to carry a battery for my note 4 and it weighed nothing. Also did anybody get a chance to try the note 7 battery backpack from Samsung. Was it a normal weight?

Thoughts on the Seido 1750mAh battery?

I'm sorry if there's a topic about it. I browsed for it, but the XDA app crashes whenever I try to search.
I'm considering ordering this battery. Had anyone had any good or bad experiences with it? I'm finding that the stock battery just isn't quite enough. Do you get the expected extra ~30% run time based on the capacity difference? Does it run too hot or anything? Thanks in advance for any input.

You can go on ebay and buy 2 or 3 1800 mah batteries for the same price as one 1750 seido... I know there is a chance the batteries will be **** but ive never had bad luck with them.

I love and swear by my 1750. You will get a lot of people in here saying it is crap, but I assure you it is not. If you want a battery to last the full day and not increase the size of your phone the 1750 is for you. I have had no issues with it getting to hot. Just a word for the wise....
When you get it follow the instructions. Let it charge for several hours after full charge. Im talking twelve hours or so if you can spare. You wont regret it.
I have the 1750 and it works great, does as advertised. Gets me through a day at 1.152 GHz of mid-heavy use, I'm not complaining

Thanks for the input. What do people say about it? Just that it's not worth the "premium" price a la the first post here?
EDIT: Also, I'd consider the larger extended batteries, but I use my phone as a GPS frequently and thus can't deal with an extended back.
It's nice to have but I've become so used to plugging up that I have a way/somewhere to charge almost everywhere I go anymore. It does allow me the luxury of being able to not plug up for longer.
I've started swapping out my 1750 for my stocker and letting them charge on my docking stations for a day or so...seems to help a little.

When I was looking for a replacement battery and searching the forums many different people claimed it didn't work as advertised. That it did not last any longer than the stock battery. In my experience this is not the case at all. Also the price is a little heavy but worth it to me at the time. I would check ebay for it now though.
1750 is an over priced, under performing piece of ****. Go on ebay and for $8.90 you can get a original HTC 1500.

Why would you say that? I've had the 1750 since a week after I got my DInc and it always over performs. I've had days where my phone was on for 26 hours with 20% left. The Sedio batteries are wwaaayy better than the crap HTC Taiwanese ones. Sedio is a Japanese cell. You pay for quality.

Advertising what? A good deal? I wasted my money on the 1750 so I would know. Why pay $40 for it when the HTC 1500 performs the same.
There's some spec sheets floating around that shows HTC batteries perform at their rated mah while seidios 1750 and 3500 fall short.
And here's that sheet:

I bought a 1750 for my Eris and use it with my Dinc without any problems.
I have one, and use it regularly. Its capacity is not staggering, but noticable over stock.
I have one and would recommend it. I compared it to my stock battery a while back, and found that it charges at about the same rate (in percentage, so it charges faster technically), gives 1 extra hour under full load, and 2-3 extra hours under mixed load.

Bought both the 1750mah and the eBay OEM 1500mah from bidallies and love it. 15$ and lasts twice as long as that sedieo crap. Sold that thing after two months of use. Have since bought an extra 1500 as spare and bought several more for friends and family with the Inc.

Like everything else they make it's probably not...
Is it true the samsung 1440mAh is better than the 1600mAH or even out stock batteries? I read that it was even though i dont see how it could be.
I doubt that the 1440 mAh is better than the 1750 mAh. I think I'll get this slim extended battery! It's as much as the regular OEM, which is I think the 1600 mAh. But I'm contemplating if the 3300 mAh (bulky but with backdoor) would be better considering the price is too much? http://www.mythoslife.com/2011/04/nexus-s-now-has-extended-battery.html. Then, again, if you're a power user then it might be worth it.
interesting...
Like stated before, it probably isn't 1750. They ramp up the number to get more sales and usually worse than the stock 1440mah.
I'd rather get the Seidio 1750 mAh slim extended battery. It'll probably last better compared to the one from eBay. http://mythoslife-store.blogspot.com/2011/05/looking-for-extended-slim-battery-for.html.
Seidio had the same battery up a few months ago and had it labeled as 1600mah.

Increased mah doesn't always = larger battery. OEMs are notorious for skimping on batteries. Sure.there are limits in package size but OEMs rarely ever reach the full cell size. There's a reason Samsung has multiple mah batteries of the same outer packaging size. Hell, I have about 3 different nexus one batteries of different capacity that all fit with the standard backplate. The N1's battery drivers were written into some kernels and you can read (even alter) the battery controller's register values in real time.

Those batteries aren't the same at all ... They are cheap knockoffs with probably half the rated capacity.
I bought mine at a verizon store. After I updated to 5.6.890 I monitored batt life. Had 40% @29th hour from the first full charge (had 70% when I bought it). Wrote it down, but can't find the stat. I was trying for 48hr. Fell short by 4 or 6 hrs.? Played XGalaxy2, Txt, Email, Tweaking, little broswering. lol . I'm using a live wallpaper now so thats using energy. ps. debloated.

I agree. Get the one from Verizon. You need the new battery door. I'm using one since I received the phone, still don't get anywhere near the rated phone specifications of 300 hours standby/550minutes usage. However, the battery does make a difference for me.
The inductive charger is also a nice accessory and works with the extended battery.

A battery of that size and capacity won't expand than the thickness of a sheet of paper. If it expands noticablly, you'd be facing a serious risk of explodsion whether if you're using the extended back or not.

anyways, just bought the 2x battery + charger combo since don't have a charger for the Note 2 batteries and that's like $4 alone on ebay anyways.

There is a MUGEN battery that is 100mAh bigger (therefore providing approx. 3% longer use of out SGN2:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...-battery-for-samsung-galaxy-note-2-n7100.html
to be honest, I´ll stay with the stock battery and just optimize my phone with android tuner / Automate It Pro and other tools to get more than 3% additional time... At this moment I am getting 1 full day (18h-19h) of very heavy use with WiFi and 3G on w/o any optimization.
With my settings running I am getting up to 30h of heavy use...
I don´t think that paying 45 USD is worth the additional 100mAh more but I might be wrong

I have contacted MUGEN a few days ago and this is what I've got as a reply:
"Thank you for your email!

So this might be a good thing, I just hope that it will not be bigger in thickness, maybe they can figure out how to make it the same size, but i highly doubt it unfortunately

I suppose it will be thicker than the stock. Anker did not offer any improvement in mAh, Mugen offers only +100mAh so I doubt that you can fit additional 1900mAh w/o making the battery thicker. 1-2 mm thicker battery won´t be much of a problem because you still could fit that battery under the plastic cover (tried it out). we´ll see I think, but I am not getting anything that makes my SGN2 any thicker as it is.
EDIT: there is a 4200mAh battery (I suppose total crap, just look at the price) available: http://www.eforchina.com/view/12921...attery-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II---N7100.htm
With this I suppose a 5000mAh battery from Mugen should be possible w/o making it thicker than 1-2mm (lets hope "fingers crossed")
I'm patiently waiting for the Mugen "super" battery. LOL!
I've always had great results in the past, however I've always sacrificed the thinness of every phone I've owned. I guess that's the toss up.

I think that Samsung is improving their own batteries so there is less room for improvement with aftermarket. The Anker battery in my S2 was better than stock, but that wasn't the case with their S3 batteries. Either way, having a spare battery available is really really cool when your away from a charger

Yep, Anker makes a fantastic Astro series of external battery packs. The problem, once you get into a higher capacity ones - they become heavy and bulky to carry around. If you are away from a power source for awhile, it's great to keep 8k/10k/20k mAh power station for charging overnight. But for a portable use without carrying bulk/weight and extra wires - Astro Slim would be the way to go, thought those are in 3k-4k mAh capacity range.

It does feel a bit bulky though at 250 gms. I travel a lot in buses and trains. And not all buses have charging points. Trains do have but I'll be lucky to get a seat next to a charging point. Will be lugging it along and checking out it's charge holding capacity for the next few months. Seller has given me a 3 months warranty, being a Chinese make. They say they can't afford to give a 1 year warranty since sending this product all the way to China for replacement doesn't make much sense.

Let us know if it is infact 20, 000 mah. Seems promising.

So far I've charged my phone twice from this and the charge on the power bank is now at 75%.

Based from OP link, this battery was $48. I have seen a lot of CH retailers and even on ebay for a lot cheaper. You can get the same 20k mAh for $21.99 shipped to US: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-20000mA...External-Battery-Mobile-Charger-/230957180801

Ah... I wish I'd seen it earlier. Then again the problem is the seller doesn't ship to India. Even if he had, shipping charges would be around $20 by UPS. And last I heard they don't ship anything with a battery in it.
Good find though. I'd be quite happy if this thing can last me just 18 months.

if its $21.99 let me be very clear on this
IT IS VERY LIKELY NO 20,000 MAH !!!
I seriously question if that battery is even 10,000 mah maybe 12,000 (and even then it won't be $22)
be very careful. on a lot of things like this they flat out LIE about actual capacity.
has anyone actually tested capacity in one of these? how many charges did you get and from "what level" if discharge on your phone?
2 charges from say 50% taking it down to 75% is not saying a lot for its capacity
No argument about it. At this price, I would consider capacity to be over exaggerated. But so does all other no-brand external battery banks. So relatively speaking this one has the highest capacity And it's pretty heavy, so it kind of justifies more cells. I just provided link, can't speak from a personal experience since I don't have one. But even with brand names, I wouldn't trust too many companies except for Anker, Seidio, and Mugen and few others.
it takes 18hrs to charger and not chage full ,how come like that ?Do it have 2.1A or 2A usb charging port ?Try to charge faster.

But you are talking about quality brand name 16k mAh battery purchased from reputable AT&T store, not cheap part from ebay with a questionable capacity label and quality I just got Astro 3E from Anker, 10k mAh capacity. Will review it in a day or two. Between Anker and New Trent I'm amazed how they are able to have such a compact and pocket friendly quality designs with 4.5k, 7k, and 10k capacities. And those actually deliver as they state, either 1+ charge or 2+ charge or 3 charges according to total rating.

Glad to hear that. I bought the same one a couple weeks ago for an upcoming two week tour of Canada. Now I feel confident that the massive 16,000 mAh battery size and five USB ports will keep my Note 2, camera, and three electronic cigarette batteries going all day.
The same thing is available for 1600INR
So can u pls tell me how long did it last ??
was it truly 20000mAh ?
is it worth a buy ? at 1600INR ?

For that price it is definitely worth a buy. It is not 20000 mah per se...but what the heck. I can get around 4 charges from the thing. So it's reasonable.

Well, u have to consider the price factor also. Then again, if you'd like to get an all day battery from your phone, it's better you buy the 3100 mah battery with flip cover that you can just put in your phone..no hassles for cable and lugging around the battery pack.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using Tapatalk 2
Battery with flip covers are not good I don't even think they go in capacity above 4500 mAh because it has to be thin. Plus, their charging supply is only 500 mA which is going to take you FOREVER to charge up the battery. Just factor in that 2A wall charger gets your battery full in 2-3 hours, while 500mA will take at least 4 times that long. And the biggest factor - you guys have to realize that actual capacity of ANY external battery will be 30% lower than it's label. You loose a lot of energy during the conversion due to efficiency of the electronics, thus at least 30% will be lost. Now, if you are dealing with HK no-name batteries - they have another 30%-40% label mark up just to make it look good.
I got the same battery for rupees 1350 (25$). Haven't tried it out yet. Will do.
