Huawei P10 Plus Model No. and Internal Memory not in Sync - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I have purchased a Huawei P10 Plus from my service provider i.e. Vodacom SA.
Upon checking the Model number it shows VKY-L09.
However the memory configuration as per setting is for VKY-L29 i.e. 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM.
I am having overheating problems, speaker works erratically, telecom communications breaks down.
Lastly, whilst trying to unlock the bootloader the command "adb reboot bootloader " keeps showing device/emulator not found.
The switch "usb debugging" keeps on switch off after a minute.
Very confusing.
Any Advice.
Thank you

Your best bet is to probably take it back to where you got it from and ask for a refund or a replacement. Tell them what's happening and that the build numbers and configurations don't match and that you've made no changes to the system.

Emergency Calls Only

Seems like a common enough problem with zero clear solutions.
Bought an unlocked L09 P9 with Vodafone Spain on it, popped sim card in and said emergency calls only.
Tried flashing new builds, changing imei/vendor/sn/etc and even flashed a backup nv file. using those dc products. None of that worked. The closest I've gotten is getting the phone to say "no service" instead of "emergency calls only"
Can someone please provide some form of support in terms of which direction I should go in?
Phone number is shown in settings but signal strength is 0. Phone has been reset numerous times. I believe this is a software issue.
Thanks

You bought as a second hand - did you test before paying? Did it work for previous owner with his SIM card?
And before you started flashing you should have checked with various SIM cards, an in the hidden Project menu was it really unlocked (not bootloader).
Might be really a hardware problem but now after you flashed IMEI, NVRAM, who knows
If you download nv partition on dc for huawei p9 eva-l09 is problem 3g I have same problem

What is the solution for this issue? I also repaired nv partition, and now can not make calls.

N950U1 FW Update N950U1UEU5CRG6 - Own Number unknown

Monday I updated the FW of my US unlocked Note 8 (N950U1 / SD-version) with N950U1UEU5CRG6.
After the update I noticed that in Settings - About Phone, My Phone Number is listed as UNKNOWN. I am using the phone in The Netherlands with provider Hollandsnieuwe (=Vodafone). I am certain that the actual phone number was correctly displayed prior to the FW update.
Not sure if related, but Find My Phone/Device does no longer work via Samsung or Google. Is does work through Bitdefender Anti Theft...
Anyone has this or other issue after the update? Thoughts?

Hi, on my 2 Note8 dual sim, it is said : phone number⇒ unknown. And this from the beginning (on every firmwares). I'm in france using two french sim cards in the phone and i bought my phones on samsung shop. Until now, no problem, everything works great.
My branded, but unlocked 950F, as I paid for it the full price to use it as a prepaid phone displays the same, unknown number, since day one, I bought it directly from the major carrier in Mexico which is Telcel, everything works fine, all services and VoLTE
You mean like this seeing on my screenshot? This number is only visible if it's saved into your SIM card. Since a while, the carriers/operators don't write longer the numbers into the SIM card
So if you don't see it now, you never saw it before!
But there was an xposed module (if I remember right on android 4.4.2) where you can change this (showing) number.
(It don't changed your registered phone number!)
At that time I had found that thread
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...share_tid=2106490&share_fid=3793&share_type=t
That should be the correct GitHub link:
https://github.com/OXINARF/SIMNumberChanger
But it looks like there is a newer xposed module called SIMEditor - maybe that still works (when your device is rooted and xpised installed)

Sorry for German language. The first line: Eigene Telefonnummer means "own phone number"
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts
I've never had my phone number displayed in the information menu. As far back as the Note 3, no matter what firmware, official or custom, or even other phones. I live in South Africa. After reading @Logel's explanation, it now makes sense to me why it never showed to me, because of the way South African carriers assign numbers to customers.

I know it's not the exact same model, but my N950F/DS shows my phone number there like normal. Not sure why it's not showing in your case though.

Note 8 - Motherboard replacement - Calling Problems - Everything Else Working

Hello,
So my original note 8 was N950F 256GB Dual SIM bought in 2017. It kept on working fine, until recently it started giving the problems in mentioned order
a. excessive battery drain
b. not being able to charge wired or wirelessly
c. complete blackout.
I went for a lookout of a replacement 256GB , and was able to find one on AliExpress, risky as it always is, i took my bets to order one after some correspondence from the seller who seemed legit and helpful.
Fast forward 22 days, I got the motherboard, installed in my existing body and housing, and voila it turned on and apparently seemed to be working fine. However i came to conclusion that it was originally a N950N (maybe Korea Dual SIM) motherboard which was flashed with the firmware/CSC/baseband for UAE reigon , maybe it was done by the seller knowing my location for ordering and the usage reigon. KNOX status was tipped as well, but it is not rooted as of now (maybe reverted to stock) , so all root sensitve applications (banking , netflix etc) do work as well.
The problem is, though everything works as intended. I am unable to place and receive voice calls reliably. Most of the time the outgoing call never gets placed on the network and drops after waiting for 8-10 seconds, and the incoming callers inform me that my mobile was out of reach for them to ring me.
I suspect it may have to do with the correct baseband not being compatible with local service providers.
Seeking expert help out here for the guidance , download location and the right combination of the firmware components to be used to bring the phone back to a reliable voice calling status to be used in KSA region
All help is much appreciated.
The information is as below :

Headaches with an N950U

Hello all.
I got myself an used SM-N950U originally from Verizon and sold as unlocked. Now my problem is I cannot connect to/use my sim with it. Originally I thought it was locked since there's an app that says "not a Verizon sim", but then I realized this app is an userspace app so to say, part of the Verizon bloatware and doesn't mean the phone. I know specially since with that phone I also got an S10+ from a friend, also from Verizon, which does see and use my sim right and which also has that same message from the same app. But works well.
Now, I don't really have the option to return this phone, since it was shipped outside the US, and shipping back would cost me half as much as what the phone cost. So I'm on my own.
At least I'm resourceful, but not that knowledgeable so that's why I come here for help.
The phone diagnostics, for the network, says in a status line "Radio off". and no info on the network. and if I try to manually select a network on connection settings, I immediately get an error. This happens wether I'm using my local sim, the old deactivated Verizon sim from my friend, and no sim... since the phone should be abe by law to make emergency calls, and it should be able to see visible networks even if not to join them, it's my guess that rather than locked, it has the radio turned off, which in some web pages says can sometimes happen "for various reasons".
My problem is, as far as I know, I have no way to turn the radio off and on again to see if that boots it up. Since this VZW Pie from has no service codes available via dialer. Not even the most basic *#06# service menu.
I see there's supposedly a way to flash the firmware back to Nougat, and root that from, on This thread. I'm guessing if I can make that work (I hope it works) I can access the service menus somehow, with it being an older rom, and having root I can probably use "Phone INFO" to get to them and try to reset the radio.
But before I do all that, and since my firmware downloads, to update to a new firmware via odin (given the warning on the root page to not use a v8 bootloader that was updated from v7 to v8 via OTA but rather something with v8 flashed directly via Odin, to avoid a possible brick). and to install the rooteable nougat will take me days to download at my speeds, I take this time to ask for help on wether there's ANY way to check and flip the radio without having to go to Nougat and root (I think I can even be happy without root on Pie for a short while.)
Ok, I'm starting to think the power connector board got damaged or the connector partially disconnected during the shipping or something.
I've installed first a N950U1 xaa rom, to make sure the v8 was installed via odin and not OTA. Then loaded a combination from and rooted as per the root post shared in the first message. This one can use service codes with the factory time (I've not installed a normal rooted nougat rom yet, as I want to do tests beforehand and try to make the radio work).
Inside *#0011# My IMEI shows as passing, but I get an ASM MIPI DEVICE FAIL:
ASM MIPI DEVICE FAIL
DEVICE MOD=0x217 , PID=0x081
Non-Fatal MIPI DEVICE FAIL
DEVICE MOD=0x217 , PID=0x081
ASDiv : NOT SUPPORTED

I tried running the Samsung Mipi Repair Tool, it detects the info, I hit repair, says it's repaired and that it'll open a menu, which does NOT open. Yet, if I open a menu with *#27663368378# and then rebuild NV with: 2. Ue Setting Info-->1.Setting-->2.System-->3.nv rebuid-->3.all, and then turn the phone off (Factory doesn't seem to have reboot) and on, still the same MIPI issue.
So I'm guessing either the board around the charge port got damaged somehow during the trip (my friend tested the phone before shipping it to me from the US), or the connector for it got loose. Anyway, I'm worried I'll have to open the phone myself (I haven't found a trustworthy tech in here. Last time I took a phone to a "recommended" tech, they stole the OEM screen from my dad's J8. So, no more techs for me unless I can find one I can befriend, and trust). If the connector to the board is not lose (I'll reseat it) I'll have to look for a new board, either abroad or here, probably not oem and with a lousier usb-c port, and swap the boards... sigh.
Anyhow since this will take time, if anyone knows of any other program or procedure I can use to test things, please let me know. I will keep the factory rom on the phone, either as the sole one or in a rom slot in safestrap, so that I can keep doing tests.
I appreciate any hints or help anybody could provide.

Sony SOG01 Simlock Or...(please read the thread)

Hi all. I hope someone can help me with my phone.
I have this phone and I have problems with it. The phone was bought from another person, not in a store.
It does not connect to the mobile network and cannot connect to the mobile internet.
It is fully operational, all functions work (except for the sim card), the phone connects to wifi and connects to the Internet. When connected to a computer, it is also completely determined.
You ask, "So what's the problem, take it to repair, they will replace the SIM card module and everything will be fine"
The problem is this. The SIM card is fully defined in the phone. When installing a sim card, a reboot is triggered, the operator is determined in the settings menu (I am from Russia, therefore my operator TELE2, the sim card was bought specifically in order to exclude the old generation of sim cards and also a possible simlock to my other operator), but when you click on the sim card menu, calls and SMS the buttons are grayed out with the caption "temporarily unavailable" (if necessary for understanding, I will change the language of the phone and provide all screenshots of the system) and they cannot be clicked.
Also, in the engineering menu, in the simlock button, opposite the Network subset inscription, there is the number 5 and it is marked with the letter X. This means, as far as I know, that there is a lock on a specific operator. But after a hard reset, the phone does not ask for any codes to enter.
This is my question, how can this be fixed?
Will flashing the phone to global rom help?
I gave the phone to a service center (not a Sony branded center, we don’t have one in our city), they told me that software setup was needed, but there was only a chance to restore the phone.
Maybe I need root access and find some file in my phone?
Please help me.
P.S. I don't have the best English, so sometimes I can't understand you, please don't get mad at me)
P.S.S. I created this topic in the questions section. I'm sorry if I had to go to the firmware section
