Hello there. My moto is thea, the 2nd gen with LTE, but this forum is way more active so I write here instead. Overall the phone is great, running Lineage OS 14.1 smooth as butter. One problem keeps bothering me though: my 64GB SanDisk Ultra Class 10 XC I SD Card keeps dissapearing out of nowhere. No ejection notification, nothing. Rebooting the device doesnt help aswell, except for some strange cases when it reappears back out of nowhere. Only reinserting the sd card works until its gone again.
It's not because of the rom - happened on stock aswell. I tried the card on another phone, works without a problem.
Browsing pictures on my sd from the gallery seems to cause this problem aswell, but somehow browsing them from the file manager doesnt.
I dont have another sd card to test if its the phone, but somewhere ive read the Moto G2 has a problem with this excact SanDisk card.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,
Everything's been peachy on my G1 for quite some time. I'm rooted running Super D's latest normal ROM. My phone died the other night while I was out. Next morning I booted my phone up and everything was gone. I used app's to SD so there was nothing on my phone, and the error message "SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem". I've searched, yes searched here, google, and elsewhere. I've tried reformatting my SD cards in FAT32 again nothing worked. Every SD card I put in the phone it says the same thing. Factory Data Reset it and everything. My card reader reads every SD I put into my phone.
Is there a fix? What I've been trying to do is flash a different zip onto my phone directly though USB in recovery to see if that's the problem and no success even getting one flashed on.
Thanks for your help!

Edit:
Tested all of my SD cards that weren't working in my G1 on my brothers G1 and everything works perfectly fine? Could it be my ROM?
Anyone? I've tried about everything I could possibly think of. Does anyone know how to flash a zip without an sd card present?
I think your SD Card is corrupted, somehow.
What recovery do you have?
What OS do you have, (it would make things easier if you had linux, or could use a ubuntu live disk).
If you can use ubuntu, with a card reader see if you can recover any files at first.
Then use gparted to re-make the partitions on your sd card.
I've got W7U. In my recovery screen it says Build: RA-dream-v1.5.2. My SD Cards read perfectly fine with a card reader and in another G1. So its def. something with my phone or the ROM.

I have the same problem
my phone is samsung i5700
lol..
I'm trying brush official rom
I'm having a weird problem with a Nexus One. It had a 2GB microSD card in it that seemed to go corrupt (all the file names went crazy) so I reformatted it and it happened again within minutes. So today I bought a new 8GB microSD card and and the Nexus now gives the error of "Blank SD Card - SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem." It is unable to format the card, but it doesn't give an error. I tried formatting the card to FAT32 on my computer, still the phone thinks it is blank/unsupported.
I'm hoping the SD slot isn't fried... any thoughts?
You could try reformating the SD card in a computer using SDformater with erase on.
I have the same problem for a few weeks now. My phone can't seem to read the sd card at all. Thought it was the sd card so I bought a new one, but problem remains. I know both cards work (have tested them in another phone and the computer reads them). I've tried formatting the card in the phone and reformatting with erase on using SDFormatter in my computer but my phone refuses to read it. Think it might be my sd slot as well...
Currently running CM 7.1.0. Haven't tried a factory reset or flashing another ROM (how would one go about doing that with no sd card?) as I'm not too keen to lose that data if I can help it.
Did you manage to fix it?
I was not able to fix it and after many hours of troubleshooting, so I gave up. Good luck to you, and please reply if you find a solution.
Hi all,
Was just wondering if anyone had encountered this issue. I'm on latest stock firmware (V20b), and I recently bought a 32gb Samsung SD card to upgrade from the 16gb Lexar card I had been using.
The card is from a reputable seller and works fine in my laptop and old Android phones. It also checks out fine with h2testw 1.4.
However, it does NOT work in my 4X HD. In the 'Storage' menu it recognises the capacity, but attempting to transfer anything via the USB cable results in failure. Formatting the card in the phone appears to work, but causes popups like 'Unfortunately, Google+ has stopped'.
Opening any app which uses the SD card (camera, music, etc) results in that application crashing immediately.
I tried putting in an old 2GB Samsung card, and got the same results.
Is anyone using Samsung SD cards with success in this phone? Don't want to factory reset if it's unlikely to fix it.
64 gig Samsung card works fine in mine, however I only used it for about 10 minutes while stock, just long enough to unlock it and flash carbonrom xD
I've been always using a 16 gb Samsung sdcard
Sent from my P880
Hmm, thanks for that. Might have to do a factory reset or something.

I'm using 16GB Samsung sd card too.
Ok, just a follow up. Did a factory reset and it works fine now, so I can't fathom what was wrong before.
Thanks everyone for letting me know my efforts wouldn't be in vain.
Hi
This is my first time posting so apologies in advance if something similar to this has been asked.
I have recently purchased a Kingston Micro SD Card 16GB for use with my Moto G.
After formatting it, once on my pc and also once on the phone itself, I decided to try and move some of my apps from phone to SD, which when I did, would not respond or even boot up the app. I also tried moving data to the card, to no avail as none of the audio files would be opened. I own the newest updated KitKat version as I have not yet been given the option to update to Lollipop.
Am I doing something wrong? Would the issue be in a faulty Micro SD card or would it be possible that this is some issue with the phone itself?
Thanks
Reformat card using phone and try again.
Hello everyone, I would like to ask for your help.
About 1,5 month ago I acquired my XT1068 at the time it was on android 4.4.4. I installed my 16gb SDcard (SanDisk, class 4) and everything looks going well.
After one week I started experiencing some issues, sudden warnings "SD card has been removed suddenly". After that error, my SD is no longer recognized, unless I put it on the computer and format it (FAT32). Over the time, the problem is becoming more common.
Motorola released the official update to 5.0.2, and after the update the problem persisted. At this time I've already rooted my phone and using TWRP in recovery.
So I though it really was the SD card. I bought a new one, a Kingston 8gb class 10, and now the cellphone instead of simply dismount the SD, it keeps rebooting every time I turn off the screen. Here's a little list of thing I've already tried (all doesn't have affected the problem):
-Change the ROM:
Downgrade to 4.4.4 Stock
The Titan Prime ROM
MicroKAT v1.0
Shohat
-SD cards
16gb Sandisk class 4 (keeps unmounting)
4gb SanDisk class 4 (keeps unmounting)
8gb Kingston Class 10 (keeps rebooting on standby)
- Apps
SD booster
Link 2 SD
So, I don't have any ideas left, I goggled e visited forum of all kinds, doesn't found anything like my problem. This can be a hardware problem? Permissions?
I've thinking, there is a way to trick the system and change the internal storage/system partitions to the external SD? Maybe this solve the problem, i don't know...
Sorry my english, and thank you in advance.
Greetings!

I don't really know. I had this problem on my previous phone (SGS+, the unmounting problem). I solved it by buying an new sd-card... But since you have multiple sd-cards with the same problem? Occuring on KitKat aswell as Lollipop? Or your cardholder has a defect or you're buying very cheap sd-cards!
Bye the way, Link2SD is a great app for providing more space, but known to be a SD-Card killer due to the very frequent writes and deletes on the SD-card while opening and closing apps.
SD-Booster? Probably is the guilty one...
Try without SD-Booster...

Thanks for your response Poeta.
Already did. In all ROM installations, the problem was present even before I install any app.
With a clean MicroSD? Or the old one, without formatted the SD?

I only installed SD booster one time, and as soon I realized it don't solve the problem, I uninstalled it. Yes, every time I inserted the SD card, I've formatted it on the computer previously.
