s5 root crashes after pin - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

been rooted on 5.0 for quite a long time now, lately battery life has gone to ****, to the point where i was quarantining social media apps and it was still horrible because of carrier iq. now phone gets into a bootloop where i can enter my pin and then shortly crashes , when sim card isnt in it says "cannot download..." before crashing. does it in safe mode as well.
i froze carrieriq process and "android process" on different days in that order with the latter being frozen 24hrs ago i think

[Q] Phone Turned Unresponsive and Slow/Crashes

Hi, Suddenly my phone has turned too unresponsive it became 90% slow my phone keeps crashing i get messages like "Google play store has stopped"/ "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped". It happened suddenly last night and sometimes it gets ok for an hour but again the phone starts behaving like this! what to do please help
A good start would be a description of the condition of your device: Rom, Kernel, Rooted etc.
check settings and then developer options check the cpu stuff to see whats utilizing your cpu. One that is utilizimng most when sluggish is likely the culprit. Google that name to find out if not clear what it is and what you can do about it

[Q] Unknown App Flashing When Toggling Wifi

Last night I was at home and noticed my wifi wasn't on, so I used the quick settings in the shade to toggle it. After a few seconds, wifi connected, and some unknown app took focus and closed repeatedly. After a few moments, it stopped and all was well.
I thought it was strange, so I turned wifi back off and the same thing happened. I rebooted, tried again, and got the same result. I was trying to think of a way to see what was happening, so I tried using the Screen Record function in Gravity Box, which didn't help much, because it happens so fast, and no info is displayed, just a black window that goes away quickly.
I then turned on the CPU usage in Developer Options to see if anything consistently came to the top when toggling. I saw a few apps each time Plume (Twitter), and Maildroid (email) were two of them. Both of these apps behave differently on wifi and 3G/4G (push vs. pull), so thought -maybe- it could be something with that. I uninstalled both of those, rebooted and tried again, getting the same result.
I recorded the screen when this was happening with the CPU usage displayed, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I don't really want to uninstall and reinstall EVERY app on my phone, so I was hoping someone may have seen this before or see something I'm missing when watching it happen.

Thanks for any input anyone can offer!
Do you check virus from your phone ?
I am also having this, seems to be due to 4.4.2 OTA, which I continue to delay as I am rooted.
Mine doens't only happen with wifi change, but also just randomly when using hangouts, keyboard stays out but hangouts min -> maxes quickly. I have tried freezing the update apps but it apparently didn't do anything as I was still asked to update earlier.
Only hangouts? I have that app disabled.in the app settings.
I can't say for sure that being on 4.4.2 fixed it, but I am on 4.4.2 now and it is not happening anymore.
I unlocked my bootloader and did the 4.4.2 SBF, unlocked and rooted. I installed probably 99% of the same apps (only ditched 1-2 that I never used anymore) and I am not having the flashing issue anymore.
Hard to tell for certain if the pending OTA was the cause, but it may have been.

[Q] Occasional random device restarting after root?

Just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else. It was either after root, or after installing Xposed, or after installing SuperSU and disabling KNOX, but occasionally my device just resets. It at completely at random times too, but usually it does a quick freeze before it happens. For example in the most recent occasion I closed a tab in google chrome, then it lagged for a second, then just reset. The time before that I just swiped my homescreen to the left and it did the same thing.
Actually mine was doing this before I rooted. Had to be an app we have on our phone or something.

Strange.. I wonder what I installed.
It happened again today, but this time I was driving in my car and it was sitting next to me with the screen off, then suddenly I notice it's at teh AT&T Logo rebooting.
This also started happening to me after rooting and installing a few mods e.g. Xposed, Viper4Android, etc...it hasn't happened since I tried switching to ART (it didn't want to switch, but all sorts of small things were fixed)

Marshmallow issues

I have been on Marshmallow since the official release this past Friday. I am no rooted, never was on this phone. Phone is completely OE.
I have noticed a few issues and gripes.
1) No more volume control for just notifications. They are now controlled in with the ringer volume. To me, that sucks.
2) Smartlock is not working properly. I have to enter my password to unlock my phone 80% of the time in locations where it should be unlocked. (Home and work)
3) Where are the Doze settings?? I have looked all over for Doze and do not see it. Did T-Mobile decide not to include it?
4) I will find out for sure tonight, but when my battery got low the last 2 days, I lost LTE, was on 2G, and no wifi calling. Basically I had a phone that worked but was a paperweight. I do know there was an outage last night, I am hoping thats all it was, but I do notice my phone running slower and harder connections at lower battery levels.
4) Apps just stop working. I have to clear out my recent apps, and reboot my phone to get apps to work. Chrome wont load pages, Facebook wont load more than 20 (est) updates, news apps (local and CNN) wont refresh or load.
If anyone has had the same issues or maybe a fix, please help! Thanks in advance.

Tab S2 (SM-T810) has gone to Warranty (Still a Better love Story than Twilight)

First things first, grab some PopCorn. Now, here's is my story between me and Samsung
Day 28/04/2018 - The beginning
Well, on 28/04/2018, my tablet went to warranty because it could not charge. It when't with the version T810XXU2DRB1 (latest official version of Android to this model on my region) .
The days have passed....
Day 19/05/2018 - Tablet arrived
On 19/05/2018, I received my tablet back. Samsung said that they replaced the main board the updated the software.
After I receive, immediately made the setup. I updated every single app and installed Instagram, Facebook, and PubG (because, why not). Then, I checked the software version and it was T810XXU2DRB1. So, after it was setup completely, I went to sleep...
Day 20/05/2018 - The heartbreak day
In the next day, I played PubG to test if the tablet performance was still the same before going to warranty. Well, it was a total disaster. The tablet (with the same firmware version before going to warranty), was slower after going to Warranty. Every single app was freezing. The settings app of android was also freezing. Well, I thought "this is the setup, in the beginning is slower because is setting up the android and its apps".
Well, things got worst. Facebook was lagging, Instagram app was getting everything black on the screen (the screen was completely black, with the exception of the android top bar that was on the screen) and the screen was not responding sometimes. Also, when I was installing the apps from Play Store (the Facebook, Instagram and PubG app), the Play Store was freezing sometimes, and the screen sometimes was not responding (not even the android top bar). Ohh I forgot, and yes, it had more than 80% of battery and I never put it in power save mode.
Again, before going warranty the device only had the charging issue, the play store and the other apps didn't freeze.
Then I saw device information on settings app. After some time, the battery reached 10%.
While on Instagram and after the battery reached 8%., it started to show on the screen some vertical lines and each line with a single color, and the lines had different colors. Then, the screen stopped responding until I pressed the power button to lock the device and then unlock it (and it made the lock sound). After that, passed some seconds/minutes, the device made the same thing again and again.... :crying:
Then, passed some minutes, the screen was getting black and not responding. Again, I tried the same trick and the screen worked for some seconds before getting black. While locking the device with the screen black, again, I could hear the locking sound effect. Then, on the day 20/05/2018, I sent back to warranty because the device was worst after going to warranty.
Day 24/05/2018 - The Call
Today, they called me to go to the Samsung Store tomorrow to "demo" what’s happening on my tablet. What can I do about this situation? The tablet warranty is finishing this year on the summer (July or June maybe).
Stay tuned to this story between me and Samsung
