I just installed the Franco kernel on my N6, latest version of Pure Nexus, and Beans Apps. The install was a little different than expected, as with Elementalx you get the options up front, this kernel was a straight install. My questions is...... Is this kernel able to overclock? I have installed the Manager and Updater for Franco Kernel and under CPU Manager > Max CPU Frequency, it only lists 2649 Mhz as the maximum clock. I looked at some older sites with info and it looks like they could overclock but no instructions how. I can't figure out what, if anything I am missing.
Thanks for any help.

Let me beat the moderator:
1) Franco has a thread dedicated to his work where you can find support.
2) This forum isn't for q&a, there's a dedicated forum for that too.
3) Clench up, some of the "helpful" comments might be rough.

I just used Autonooter 3.0 on my Nook Color. I installed SetCPU but it will not give me the option to overclock it past 800mHz. What gives?

You need to install an overclock kernel specific to your os. Stock os is Eclair. I like Dalingrin's kernel. Look in the dev forum to find it.
Have you flashed an overclock kernel like screamer or dalingrin's?
No. I tried that. The stock kernel supports only 800 MHz. You need to flash supported kernel to do that.
Search in development threads. i do not have enough posts to put links.

I flashed Phoenix Ultimate, great ROM. When I open Voltage Control, I get a message:
Unsupported kernel detected. You are running an incompatible kernel.
Any ideas?
1) The kernel in Phoenix does not support UV. So there is no problem.
2) Next time, post in thread pertaining to rom or in the Q&A section.
I would have posted there, but I needed 10 posts to be able to reply, sorry for the bother
No problem. If you want a kernel that supports UV, I would recommend existz' Suckerpunch Voodoo kernel, unless you also want to O/C, then you need the other Suckerpunch kernel.
+1 suckerpunch. #9 is awesome. Finally decided to mess around with u/v also. Good luck with that

Underclocking is always possible, just get setcpu (or similar) off of android market, and turn down the max cpu frequency. Overclocking requires either a different kernel or a kernel module. We are currently working on kernel modules to be applied, but we need an unlocked bootloader to achieve a fully "overclockable" kernel.

We really need an unlocked bootloader cuz development would be so much easier
Overclocking Droid 3. The thread title says xt860 but if you read through the posts many other users are reporting success as well, no modules/custom kernel needed.
So I flashed two different jelly bean roms that are overclocked to 1.3ghz, but when I checked my cpu speed on my phone one rom was 1.05 and the other was 1.1ghz. I would post this on the CN2 rom thread where I got the rom from, but I need ten post to even comment on there. Why is my phone not fully overclocking to the specific value?
Also I have tried every overclocking app from setcpu, setvcu, milestone, etc... and none of them actually let me overclock the phone they just let me move my slider to a lower value than 1.1ghz. I cannot get any app to actually let me set a new value for my cpu frequency. I am currently running the CN2 Jelly Bean rom.
Any help is appreciated.
So I figured out the problem. My stock kernel only holds 4 or 5 cpu speed slots. I need a kernel that holds 7. I am having trouble finding one, or at least figuring out how to flash my new kernel through safe strap. It says failed when I try to flash a kernel I downloaded.
Anyone know of a kernel I that is compatible with CN3 Rom?
Like the title says. I'm running the latest jscullins snapshot and it works great, but I can only get thee CPU to 1.9GHz and the GPU won't budge, it just resets. I had previous versions with kernels and I was able to do over 2GHz without issue and GPU some, but I forgot the amount. I can't seem to find any kernels like this for CM11.
Any ideas?
There aren't any other kernels available for CM11. I think only shumash's kernel for Android 4.2 and below can overclock the device to 1.9GHz successfully.
Overclock recommendation please

I'd like some good recommendations for overclock options and the pros and cons if possible.
