Hello im a Regular Oneplus3T user . I'm Flashaholic . After seeing so much themes on play store about emui .why not Any Developer Port emui for Oneplus3T also No one Ported Samsung S8 room For op3t. I'm a Noob about rom porting .
I heard this forum is for question and answers so I'm asking You Guys why Can't EMUI or Some Other ROM can't be Port for Oneplus3T ? /Why Someone Is not Porting ?
Delete if not allowed . Thank you
1. There will never be a touchwiz based ROM for non Samsung devices. Maybe you've seen a S7 ROM ported to the S6, because they're Samsung devices. One reason is because Samsung doesn't release Device Trees for their devices. (Same reason why ROM's have a broken camera and other issues on Samsung devices). There's plenty of information about this on Google, so please do research before posting.
2. There's many reasons as to why there's no EMUI ROM; it's not open-source and it's extremely hard to port even if someone attempted to port.
TL;DR- If you want EMUI or Touchwiz, get a Huawei or Samsung. Don't make requests for ROM's without doing research on whether it's possible to port the OS.

This os is best for Android phones
If you look at the sources they are not for hdpi devices therfore no development atleast for now as i see it. I also want to see something different from aosp ROMs.
Stock rom modified to xperia ui would be cool too.
For our device it looks aosp ROMs is what senior devs prefer.
Why any developer not work in miui ROM I know your answer but miui7 is good for Android phones
me too waiting for miui....some replied that i should bought xiomi phones rather than Android one..and some says that miui v7 cant be portable to our device cause of hdpi...but tgen why no devs are interested to port the miui v6???its already ported for our chipset just have to make it work for android one..... http://www.mtkroms.com/2015/03/442-miui-v6-for-mtk-6582.html
Mods please move this thread to appropriate section
If you like it so much, then why don't you compile it? Devs are tired of requests for MIUI. THEY DON'T WANT TO DO IT.
Hey guys, if anyone is interested in porting miui 6, then contact me on fb, as I don't have enough bandwidth to download the ROM, I can guide you all through the way, all I need is a guy (or even a girl ) who has some at least basic knowledge & is ready to waste some time with me :v (as porting can't always be successful)...

Its now reached android 7 new version from lower versions. It can even go more android versions. This chipset is powerfull. Oreo is planning in chinese firmware.Even price is no so low.Seriously why no custom roms yet?
Leave your suggestions.

Dont know the way to unlock bootloader.I found some one tried porting and falied. This device have a wide possibility if custom roms can also be installed.:silly:
This phone is uncertified and Google are blocking uncertified devices from Oreo onwards so it will have to stay on 7.0.
There's no custom ROMs because you can't unlock the bootloader.
I like the phone but too much messing about setting up Google Play Services and too many problems with Play Protect due to it's uncertified status.
Is this impossible to build or does it depend a long time fix for N950F? Miui or FlymeOS or other
Based on AOSP to Port Miui can fix it? help me plss
I read over here that there is one aosp based rom, legacy, or sonething of the sort, in beta stage, search for it, but, why would you want to downgrade your note 8? Because that is exactly what is going to happen, all the specific samsung related features that make a galaxy note what it is, will be gone , and specially, samsung pay and secure folder are gone forever
Hello everyone, I would like to know if there is still the possibility of leaving some roms for the M31! The device is great, with customs and more optimized kernels it would greatly improve the usability of the device.
We need devs here
Samsung smartphones with snapdragon chipsets won't have custom roms, also some of the exynos versions too. Because samsung's firmware is proprietary.
There are only two cases with XDA devs.
1. If there's possibility to build roms for a device, there would have been tons of roms already.
2. If it's not possible, then there won't be a single rom.
This device has very good hardware / specs however it has lot of Samsung bloatware we need custom rom like Lineage OS.
GSI have effectively replaced the unofficial ROMs. Try that.
Isn't there any custom rom for tab s8 ultra? My tab is now 1 yr old so was keen to experiment. Is linux a good option? Any advices please. I am just a tech enthusiast so just looking to have some fun.

There's actually no developpement for Galaxy Tab S8 serie. The hardware is pretty new and Samsung doesn't help users to dives into his hardware...
If you want to try roms, you can still install TWRP and try GSI.
About Linux, except using Termux, you can't do anything since the Kernel is locked and there's no way (yet) to enable KVM on snapdragon devices...

GSI (Generic System Image) is a kind of rom that (should) work on any Treble enabled device (aka almost any device that come with Android 11 and up).
However, on Samsung devices, most of hardware relies on proprietary drivers (like camera or spen...), so you should'nt expect them to work good as using Samsung firmware
There is not custom roms almost to none Samsung device any more. Samsung is trying to become Apple. Locking every device with many ways. Only root there is, and this more difficult every year. Unfortunately Samsung is still creating the best hardware , and good software, so there isn't very easy to go to another company for the most users..
