Hello,
i have a question. Its not easy to buy a grey Mi5 or Mi5s in germany. White or gold is aviable, but i dont want them.
I found the Mi5C with the Surge S1 CPU.
I read a tread from indea, they sayed that it is possible to flash twrp an lingea os 14.1 (capricorn) on the "C".
Is the the C "rom"compatible to the other better Mi5 phones?
If yes, i would buy a Mi5c to flash lingea or better AICP.
Greetings Kullino
NO, very different phone and hardware.
go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5c for support and rom

Hi all, I have been playing with some ROMs since HTC G4 Tattoo, but I have only installed ROMs for my phones. In the forum I have read many questions about installing ROM for P8Lite on Honor 4. What would happen, if I flash maybe Lineage OS for Honor 4 on my P8Lite? Has anyone tried such stuff? Thanks!
I put this similar question on the forum 5... maybe 6 days ago.
I even searched all Honor 4/4x forums, and all roms are based on Honor 4x G620S, what is on msm8916 architecture
but msm8916=snapdragon
ale-l21=kirin
kirin and snapdragon don't go too well together, there is no way to port that rom, or to install it on every P8 Lite
As a matter of fact, Snapdragon Honor 4c/4x/4 is more popular, when on Huawei the Kirin devices are more popular(ALE-L21) then th sanp one(ALE-L04)
Well the honor 4c? I believe also has Kirin-620 chipset. As long as its Kirin-620, you are free to flash it. Flashing a Snapdragon ROM could result in a broken Chipset. And then you would need a replacement or a new phone. I don't know if that still can happen, but it happen to me in 2013. So better watch out.
Searching the whole Redmi 4x a.k.a Redmi 4(India) thread on XDA I came up to know that xiaomi has not released kernel sources yet. I was looking forward to buy this device but looking at the lazy response from manufacturer I doubt the development and getting it. Share your thoughts and suggestion down below. Should I get this device or get Lenovo zuk Z2 plus which is available around the same price ?
I'm waiting for a deal to get one for my mom. I'm happy so far with my Note 4X (SD 625) which I'm running with Resurrection Remix, so I think a slighty downsized and down-specced version would be great for her. If there is no custom firmware in the near future, she'll be fine. I wouldn't wanna miss LOS or RR on my phone, but MIUI isn't bad for lots of people.
There are already a few custom ROMs for RM4X like yurekaOS based on nougat 7.1.2 and as i read in forums it seems to be running ok for the most users.
Still i wouldn't expect too much in custom development. see RM3S for example. there are ROMs available but development goes slow
So if you are no friend of MIUI (and upcoming MIUI 9) and want lot of custom development then you might consider buying another phone.
Hi,
any plans for CM 13.1 or Lineage equivalent for Redmi Note 4X Qualcomm not built on nougat?
Need Android 6 as 7+ doesn't allow for USB bus speed auto-negotiation, which is "kinda" big deal in my application.
Thanks for input

You are asking for "Mido" not for Redmi 4X "Santoni"
It is better to search here:

Hey guys, got the mi8 in the end!
I read that poco's roms are compatible with the mi8, just that nfc is not functional, is this correct?
I don't wanna brick my device lol.
I just flash them through twrp recovery like any mi8 rom?
Thanks.
Which is the most root friendly phone where I can set up Magisk ??
I don't know how recent you want, but I have the Axon 7. It's really easily rooted.

I want 2016+ phones, cheap and which i can root easily, I'm tired to find any.
Generally speaking I'd suggest to check models that are in BOTH Lineage and TWRP official support lists:
https://download.lineageos.org/ (click on menu)
https://twrp.me/Devices/
That way besides stock ROM (probably not difficult to root because above availability) you will always have the alternative ROM + Recovery.

Also, check which devices are the most popular on XDA forum; there's lots of old but great flagship devices like the OP3 that are still getting tons of attention and are available on the cheap.
The problem is that most of your cheaper phones are either built intentionally to be tough to root, or ppl who buy them just don't care enough to do the extra. I know there was a midrange Moto a few years back and I'm sure it is still getting indie development, but the name escapes me... Try googling "most easily rooted phones" and see what you get. Might just need to get secondhand/older/foreign if cost is an issue.
Edit: just noticed your objection to older phones. You do realize that if you are going to root your phone anyway, you are 20x better off with a flagship 2014 model that has a Qualcomm 8xx PROCESSOR (or even most 7 and 6 series) than an Intel or almost any Mediatek processor? You don't need to worry about the age of it if it's in good condition and there's active development. THAT'S how you'll save money IMO.

Cheap? I'd say Xiaomi A2 or the Poco F1. Xiaomi bootloader is locked from the factory, but they have an official tool called Mi Unlocker to easily unlock it.
In case of Mi A2, released in 2016, since it's an AndroidOne device, you can simply unlock it using fastboot. It also has LineageOS and TWRP official support. From factory it came with Oreo, then updated to Pie. And they will release Android 10 for it at the end of this month (https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-X...edge-towards-Android-10-update.447310.0.html)
I'm running Mi A2 with Havoc OS v2.8 based on Android Pie, rooted with Magisk 20.2, and EdXposed 0.4.5. The device pass SafetyNet and can install Netflix from the Play Store.
They released Mi A3 with AMOLED display. But it's 720p with a notch, a downgrade from the notchless 1080p LCD display of Mi A2. But it has 3 cameras instead of two, and 4000mah battery instead of 3000mah in Mi A2, and will receive official Android 11.
Which phones are currently easiest to unlock, root and install ROMs?
I bought the xiaomi redmi note 5g, and I am looking for custom recovery and they are all for the mojito version ... I have camellian. I don't know if you can put the TWRP of the mojito in the camellian ... Also I looked for official ROMs to update the mobile, none of them match the name that is in the version that I have installed:
MIUIGlobal12.0.3StableRKSEOUR
Model: M1203K196
Sorry if there is already a topic on this, but I am completely lost.
Thanks for the help.
Greetings!
I also recently got this handset as a bargain back up device. Only cost me €70 unlocked.
I believe there aren't any roms specific to this handset yet, as the kernel sources haven't been released yet. There are GSI roms, but I haven't looked into them too much, as I wanted a reliable daily driver.
no custom rom rom, only gsi. the twrp have toch screen not working. needs otg or twrp manager for pc. but for gsi installation fastboot is suggested. with stock recovery. the future of xiaomi modding are the gsi. also the new redmi note 11 serie come out with mtk processor.. so i'm quite sue that treble project will be the new frontier for xioni devices
