Best Note 7 Port - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, I was wondering what is the best (in terms of most current and most functioning) Note 7 Rom Port for our device? Right now i am using TWIZtd DeVELOPMENT N7 port as my daily but my Bank app does not work on it. the reason i ask, is because despite all my searching and reading it's 10-29-17. a lot of stuff is old. now is the time to ask for opinions and see if any of you have a good note 7 port up your sleeves i can use.

throw some light on me about nexus 7

Guys I'm planning to buy nexus 7 but I'm really confused
Here are.my few questions.
1) What's the difference between nexus 7 original development and nexus 7 android development?
2 Nexus 7 isn't cheap in india. its price is 350$ us and ipad mini same. I like nexus because of my android experience and ability to install custom thing
I wanted to put ubuntu on it directly but reports say its unstable. Also I found multirom installer quitting difficult on samsung and sony devices rooting was way easier. So what should I do?
3) what will be restrictions with iphone I will face? never used ios devices personally.
I hope you guys understand what I mean and throw light on it.
Answer to Number 1
You can just click in both sections and you will definitely see the differences.
Answer to Number 2
If what you want can not satisfied you, then wait for it. Wait for ubuntu become as stable as you wish.
I think rooting process on any device will be not too hard, but require a bit of average work.
Answer to Number 3
You already answer this question yourself, when you said you like the android ability to install custom thing. Here you go. It's android. You can do anything you want.
Nexus 7 and Iphone are very different in my opinion. Just go to an Apple store in India, and find out.

P7 or Nexus 5

Hey all,
I currently have a Nexus 5 and I am pretty happy with it but it looks like I may get a P7.
My question is: what is your opinion of you could choose? Would you get the P7 or the Nexus 5?

If you're interested in Custom Roms and control over your phone, don't get a P7. Huawei has obviously imposed many hurdles to create custom ROMs what made me very dissatisfied. I also know a lot about their software development from an internship and it's too bad. They should stick to creating great hardware and leave the software to people who know it better.
Well, I'm quite satisfied with my brand new P7. I am used to iOS devices, and I will never-ever go back. Love the design, Android, but dislike Huaweis EMUI.
So maybe the question should rather be if you want the pure Andriod OS or if you can settle with the EMUI packed in sweet design (really love the P7 design, as you might figure).
Good luck.

After I opened this thread I asked myself: why choose when you can have both?
So now I got both, will see how it goes and will decide on one
Thanks all.

New to Note 5 Canada, Linux root questions + VR

Hey all, so I've been trying to dig around a bit on the forums to find some answers, but alas, couldn't get specific enough information, so thought I'd just make a thread of all my questions lol.
Currently using a Note 5 SM-N920W8, 6.0.1, Stock.
I use Linux, and have no access to a Windows machine, and no desire to make a windows VM plus I doubt I could free up enough hard drive space right now anyways hahaha.
I also DAILY use my Samsung Gear VR.
---
First question: Is there a way to root my phone given my current setup?
Second: I DID read that the gear VR won't work with most custom roms (Like AOSP based ones). Any custom roms that DO WORK (Must work 100% without having to jump through a billion hoops to make it function) with the Gear VR?
Third: Any recommendations of any kind, since I am new to this device, would be appreciated!
<3
I will let someone more qualified than me answer this but I will say I'm glad my Note 5 is my third phone not my main 2 as there is no updates on ROMs for this phone I haven't see anything new in months lol

Even the stock MM Rom runs nice and smooth for me. I just want to root at the LEAST so I can get Viper running...But, I wouldn't mind a better kernel / ROM either, so I can increase my battery life, tweak a few things.
-- Also, Just realized I should have maybe posted in Q&A Rather than general. If a mod wants to move this, cool by me!
bump.
Anyone?

Welcome to XDA
Sure in here you will find ways to improve your device!
May I ask why ?
I am totally happy with my mediatek redmi note 9
In part it may be on me not using it properly. You say your model is "Mediatek", is this the same as my phone? I'm also having difficulty rooting my phone, It would seem you have to get past MIUI, so there is that. Yes, a bit lost at the moment

Note 9 pro uses snapdragon 720G. Note 9 uses mediatek.
I'm very happy happy with my my note 9 pro. And for the moment I don't see the need of change rom. The other day it updated to miui 12, based on android 11, and goes well.
Oh good to know re: snapdragon and mediatek. That's terrific you guys are liking your appliances right out of the box. I'd love to hear from others who are not so pleased and what they've done. I keep wanting to pull down from the top to see my controls and of course they don't show up. Is this me or is it MIUI ergonomics? Thank you for your responses. I'll see what I can do to change things.
What is the problem with rooting?
oh hi 171, are you asking me? Or just putting this out there? Nothing is wrong with rooting IMO, although I find it as difficult as collecting hens teeth, because there is so much information and it's hard to keep it straight, and it varies sometimes between builds, and between phones.

A budget tablet

Currently using a Lenovo K10 Tab with Helio P22T chipset and looking to buy a Yoga Tab from the same brand. Anyone with any experience of Lenovo Yoga Tabs?
I haven't tried those specifically, sorry. But If you don't mind second hand there's tons of older generation I pads out there for very fair prices and since Apple is constantly updating their IOS getting one a few models older doesn't really hinder you at all, in my opinion.
Anyway, good luck and hope you find what you're looking for either way!

Thanks for the assistance and good wishes mate. I think I would go for Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 that comes with a Mediatek gaming chipset. Would be a good thing for gaming.
It may be a little late but i've been rocking an Alldocube iPlay40 and its great for multimedia and web browsing, Im not much for gaming but tried genshin impact and didnt encountered any issues either. Unlocking bootloader and root available, also roms are starting to come out. Good quality in general.
I am particularly not using that, but one of my friend is positive for Lenovo Yoga Tab 11. it gives a nice experience.

Yeah, this is a nice option and I had my experience with this mediatek-powered tab. Works well for gamers as well.
