How to flash:

How to brush TWRP
Install Crom-service.apk
GOTO SETTINGS: ABOUT DEVICE, SOFTWARE INFO, TAP ON BUILD SEVERAL TIMES TO ENABLE DEVELOPER OPTIONS, GOTO SETTINGS: DEVELOPER OPTIONS AND TOGGLE OEM UNLOCK TO ON. ALSO BE SURE YOU HAVE THE SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS ON YOUR PC:
Boot the phone into download mode (Power off. Press and hold Power + Home + Volume down)
Of course, our old friend Odin. Connect phone to PC
In Odin press AP slot to choose twrp-3.2.1-0-hero2qltechn.img.tar (you can easily google and download it). In Options tab of Odin untick "Auto-reboot". Press Start.
Brushing finish. Press and hold: Volume down + Home + Power Key to exit download mode. When the phone screen is off, QUICKLY press Volume up + Home + Power key to go to Recovery mode. If press failed you need to brush TWRP and do it again.

I just wish to say thanks to your phenomenal work on this rom, battery gives 5.5 hours of screen on, for me yesterday was an intensive day at work (12 hours of labor) and when I got home at night phone still had 30% of battery, really impresive, brief summary:
+Excellent battery life (5+ hours of screen on and excellent stand by)
+Extremely debloated from Samsung and Chinese crap so phone has more RAM available for apps you really use
+Google play ready and Google contacts sync working
+Custom rom settings in english
+No chinese characters in any screen
+Overall fast and fluid experience
+No app crashes or random reboots that I am aware of
-Only downside is that Edge lightning is not working while screen is off (or maybe I am doing something wrong)
BIG kudos developer on your efforts, beautiful job done here!!!

Google contact sync works right out of the box, not so Google calendar which sync begun to work after I downloaded Google calendar from play store

Your support section states G9350 - china rom. Stupid question, but can this rom be installed onto my G935J model which is the Japanese variant of SD820? It would probably install fine, but with a different CSC i might now be able to connect to the data towers here - no cellular and data. Is this true?

I'm not sure. It's better if we start modifying a G935J rom. Anyway, try to replace csc folder, boot.img by things copied from another G935J rom.

Hi, I build a ROM few days ago for this device based on official stock.
Main features:
- 100% Based on the latest official stock (ZUI_2.3.044ST).
- Removed system applications and Chinese apps do not consider essential.

Some considerations:
- To install the ROM, you must have unlocked bootloader and changed the original Recovery (recommended below).
- As in the original firmware, the original languages (English and Chinese) are maintained.
- Desktop icons shaded correspond to applications that are not included in this ROM, you can delete the icons or download applications directly pressing them, if interested.
- The app System Update is not removed, but is not operational with rooted/unlocked bootloader. It is useful to restart directly to Recovery.
- The security application detects Adaway tool as virus. You can ignore the warning or delete. It was downloaded directly from the official version, it's supposed to be safe.
- There are several versions of Recovery out there, which is indicated below which has been tested and has given no problems recommended. It is in Chinese / English, to start the Recovery the first time select the option to change it to English.

Please, first of all make a FULL Recovery backup before install.

Cool, thanks, just installed this rom, pretty neat. Not been able to activate the google assistant, not your ROM fault, but tried multiple forums and still no go.
Edit : Figured out a way to activate the assistant, need to enable the onscreen navigation and then select the home button.
The camera is laggy and is taking time to launch and the onscreen filters in the app doesnt work as well.
Have been using for 2 days now. Most usable ZUI so far IMO. Definitely a daily driver for me.
I experienced no camera problems, unlike @anupsnair .

Edit : The camera started working after clearing the cache. Now for some reason VOLTE / HD calls arent possible, I reverted to the old backup and it seems fine there.
@recoba23, how do u go about changing the volume of the headset and speaker, is it a build.prop edit or any other steps ?

Camera system and VOLTE calls options have not been modified, so they should work like the original firmware.
There are many explains and mods for change volumes, if you want to learn I recommend you take a look.

Ower the restart i see the ZUK-Start-Screen and over free Minutes the phone shut of.
Can someone please provide an alternative download link? I am constantly getting 'connection lost' and there is no possibility to resume download, so I have to start from scratch.

Hello, will there be a "[ROM] Gedeon" on the ZUI_2.5.335_ST?
Does it worth do a downgrade for 2.5 for this ROM? I don't know why I'm having problems with quick charger in the 2.5. (is it possible that a dirty flash by OTA made this?). I'm only concerned about the camera on this ROM.

You can skip it by disabling the Light System Option, but no Worries. It does not Stuck. It flashs but the Display starts Freezing on some Devices with TWRP. A workaround is to detach the cable and to make a reboot to the recovery right before flashing the Patch (If that does not help just wait some Minutes for the install and press the Power Button a few Times. That brings You back to the recovery after compliting the install) . And it does not install all shown GApps. The Super Package is debloated to the maximum without breaking any Functions or missing extra Google Features. That's why i call it Optimized GApps. The next Patch will be a bit smaller btw

I didn't get what you mean with '' reboot to the recovery right before flashing the Patch''. if the process gets stuck... what choice do i have on the timing.... sorry I may be a retard or my english is getting rustier but I don't really get what you mean

The Patch needs to be applied before booting the System the first Time (Or at least on a System with Wiped Data and Caches). There are deep going changes which may cause Problems if applied on already configured Systems. So at the End will You miss Features or in the worst case will You get Force Closes of Apps/System FC...
Take a look on the Instructions from Post #3 to make sure You're flashing it right

if it's going back to recovery there's an issue on the installer process, ROM, recovery, etc.
in any case it's working on Z5
Gave it a chance despite the chinese installer. After spending about one hour with removing all the bloat and china garbage I can say: Its quite nice. Really smooth and good looking UI, great camera. Will test this out for a few days.
Edit: Can not receive calls or sms and no internet connection. APN settings are not available.

I can make calls and they get through, but I cant receive them or receive sms and got no internet connection. Did a full complete wipe, tried it multiple times.
Updated to latest official 32.4.A.1.54 again (not sure if i was running this version before). Now I have problems getting TWRP to run at all. Gonna open a new thread.

Flash stock .54 firmware with Flashtool before flashing this. (make sure to do a full wipe, backup)
After doing that, flash TWRP and flash the rom zip via TWRP. If TWRP disappears after flashing, reflash TWRP.

apps in the aroma are just about the Xperia system
they is no relation to bloatware chinese applications. you can delete chinese apps after installing the rom
...........
Installation aroma is with chinese language and there is no way to change it's not a big problem.
Keep mind that the checkboxes are correct in the default initial state so leave options in the same mode and click next in each step.
In rom environment, only a small part (mrom settings) is Chinese language for understand you can use the screenshot below in post#2.

Go to Settings > Display Settings > Edge Screen > Edge Lighting . Switch from "Always" to "When screen is ON".
2. I can't access VoLTE

3. I can't play PUBG smoothly in this ROM. I experience lag.
Note8 is a heavy base for our devices. I have done maximum GPU optimisations.
4. I have a UI lag when using Infinity wallpapers.
Same too here. Our device isn't optimised for these high resolution infinity wallpapers. So, if u feel lag, change to normal wallpaper:laugh:
5. I can't use Iris / Face recognition options
Do we have a Iris scanner / face detector on our phone ?

1-facelock not worked.
2- and when i installed rom in Aroma i dont choose "game essential app" and now when playing clash royal game i lunch it show me "the game optimizer services stoped"
3-when i unlock screen ...my screen for 1 sec showed black then show wallpaper of lock screen
What should I do?

1. Face Lock is accessible from Settings > Lock Screen Settings > Smart Lock > Trusted Face Recognition. Try again.
2. I updated the apk, please change back to older version of Game Optimizer apk or wait for v1.2
3. If u applied Native Blur with a Navigation Bar, there might be a lag because this is ported from a heavy base. Will try to correct it in next version v1.2

I played games Arena of Valor & PUBG Mobile (with GFX Tools) in S CUBE NFE ROM and feel quite smooth (join in match quickly, no or few lag). But this ROM I join match very late, move very difficult in PUBG Mobile (very lag). I can't play PUBG with this ROM.
Infinity wallpaper so lag when unlock screen.
Another things, I feel very good!! All be updated.

Gaming lag will be there because.... its Note8. its a heavy base for A5 2016. Maybe in future versions, i will try to optimise the ROM

I have installed Your ROM yesterday on my A5 2016. It's first custom rom on that phone, so I'm on it directly from latest stock 7.0 and I have to admit that it's incredible! Some of the features are not working for me, like edge lighting and apps edge, but I don't really need them so it's not a problem. I have already done some debloating and now it's perfect for me! Thank You very much for your work! It's very advanced modification as for A5 and finally this phone is 100% functional and it's using its hardware as it should.
I have installed latest Magisk 18.1, using Magisk uninstaller and flashing the latest than. It's all good!
Only thing I would like to ask is that if I can remove the navbar somehow. I choose to install it in aroma because I forgot about the buttons it has I'm used to my S8 because A5 is like a spare phone for me.

I think that you should wait a little bit longer. In my case installation was just regular:
-format data (because it was first installation after stock)
-reboot to TWRP
-wipe all the rest

First boot took a while, I was already sure that it's not going to work, but it started successfully.
So just try once again and wait about 20 minutes, I think that's maximum time for first boot.

I cleaned the main partitions and installed other ROM and work fine!
I'm testing changing A510M model to A510F and no stuck in "Samsung Galaxy A5 (6)" logo! Have a problem with select A510M model...

Work for now, but the navigation key is not work...
I hope you will make this ROM smooth such as S CUBE NFE ROM. I used it for a long time and I feel very satisfied. I came back S CUBE NFE ROM and was waiting you .

i instaled this rom and very good and fast rom.
I found some issues.hope you will clear soon
1. When restart the phone battery percentage go down 20 to 30%. and conect charger suddenly go 100%
2.whatsapp no notification sound.(need to select separate app sound)no problem.but restart phone all setting gone off and no sound again
3.volte 4g signal is poor
other wise rom is great i like to continue this rom and i hope you will clear this issue.thanks

For everyone, who wonders how to pass SafetyNet, can check this post. It worked for me, but it's not like in One UI 2.5 with WW kernel. Yes, you will pass it, yes apps will run. But Netflix quality is pretty bad and bank apps don't work with a fingerprint. However, the room seems very smooth and stable <3

because here in guide at xda recommendation is twrp 3.3.1.1,
while at Alex insta page, at graphically demo its recommended twrp is 3.3.1.0.
so which version exactly to follow.?
After following three times the installation process as mentioned in the original post my device keeps crashing. The home screen starts blinking black, does not respond to touch, and after a few seconds the message "System UI isn't responding" appears.
I will try to debug through ADB if i'm able to enable developer options first.

Just, do not rely on this button. Feels like is working when u are on aod screen.
1. AOD screen always shows text "Charging" next to the battery percentage, even though it is not charging atm.
2. Controlling USB mode (which side is controller, data, charging only etc.) is not working at all. Only in Developer's options
3. Android Auto is not working as well
4. Universal SafetyNet Fix works, but fingerprint doesn't work (not even with modded modules for Samsung)
On the other hand, Wireless DeX on PC is working

Android Auto is working fine for me, I just had to install it from the store
Edit: It worked in my car but not in my friends car, weird

other than this I also found that Mobile Network Data Usage on settings are force closing when I tap it. Also it shows blank "data usage" the notification panel
I confirm, Android Auto is not working
I forgot another thing: I can't see Revolut app in the Play Store at all. It even failed to install from cloud backup. (MagiskHide+renamed Magisk+Universal SafetyNet Fix)
I'm using G965N. My carrier is KT(Korea Telecom).
I heard that there's no Korea CSC in this rom.

Hello. Thank you. I'll tell you what I mean. I have a phone that is bought in installments. The previous owner stopped paying in installments, the telephone number in the contract is off. The phone can be locked when it resets to factory settings and reconnects with KNOX. KNOX GAURD can lock my phone programmatically and it will be KG state locked. I want to protect myself from this and load the soft that is decnoxed. Does your soft fulfill this function. Thank you for your answer, good man.

Hello, I'm using this rom since it came out and I have just one problem
The sound of the speakers is a bit muffled and Dolby Atmos seems not to work.
However, I'm really impressed of how well the Port works.
