Can anyone with ZUI 2.5.355 try to search for updates?
Here is my story. Please answer!
1. Received phone in September.
2. Flashed ZUI 1.9
3. Unlocked bootloader
4. Installed AEX 4.5
5. Tested for over a week
6. Relocked the bootloader by flashing ZUI 1.9
7. INSTALLED the updates up to ZUI 2.5.335 after relocking and received notification to install 2.5.453 but Ignored because heard on XDA about some bugs.
After one month on ZUI 2.5.335 :
Searching on Lenovo Chinese forum I found a thread where admin opened ZUI 3.1 for a public test.
Applied for it, but when I started searching for updates but haven't found anything, even ZUI 2.5.435 or 2.5.462
Then because I am VERY SMART GUY :cyclops: I factory reset the phone and then flashed ZUI 1.9 with QFIL and now I am stuck. Still no OTA on ZUI 1.9 but now I cant flash a 2.5 ZUI with QFIL. Tried to flash ZUI 2.5.335 for three times, but it reverts to 1.9 over and over again.
My Questions:
1. I ask anyone that has ZUI 2.5.355 to search for updates because I want to know where is the problem, in my own phone or in Lenovo servers that are OFF.
2. Is it even possible to flash a 2.5 ZUI on phone with ZUI 1.9?
3. Should I try to unlock bootloader now and install Lineage 14.1, because 1.9 is horrible.
Asking this because I searched almost anywhere for 2 days and found nothing.

Hi,
I made a request yesterday to ZUK dev team according to OTA servers as actually nobody gets OTA updates.
They answered:
"HI:
I am sorry, the row ota server have some problem now, we are fixing, please wait serval days, thanks!"
So OTA servers are down at the moment. Fix is to come so await functional OTA updates soon.

Hi guys, im new to the whole rooting and flashing world. I am currently using Nuclearom v6.0.1 but i am planning to flash the latest zui 2.5 on my Zuk Z1 and have these following doubts:
1) will the bootloader get locked after I flash zui 2.5?
2) Is the battery life in zui 2.5 really better than other roms?
3) if the bootloader gets locked, is it easy to unlock it (like it was in CM)?
4) will i be able to root zui 2.5?
5) will the zui 2.5 ever leave the beta stage and get a stable build?
6) will i be able to use twrp after flashing zui or can i install twrp after flashing zui 2.5?
Any help will be really appreciated...

I assume you are referring to the one in XDA, if not please neglect.
1. No
2. Depends on your usage, however I personally noticed better charging speed than any other ROM
3. I have no idea what happens if bootloader locks, I have flashed several ROMS, before and after flashing ZUI, so no answer for this.
4. Yes, flashing SuperSU
5. No idea
6. TWRP isn't going anywhere if you are flashing ZUI from TWRP.
I think all your questions about ZUI are mostly related to previous versions of ZUI, there are flashable versions in XDA. Please do go through instructions before flashing
Thank you so much for such fast reply.

If bootloader locks it's pretty easy to unlock it again, I'll leave a link where you can check out how to do it. Although it says it is for Zuk z2 it also works with z1. http://zukfans.eu/community/threads/zuk-z2-bootloader-unlock.62
Don't forget that by unlocking bootloader, your data wil l be all lost.
Okay, so. I'd like to rope @weimerd and @MRDA1981 into a discussion here, because I know you guys have views on doing a full OTA update from a QFIL flash of ZUI 1.9.
But that's not very practical to do, takes a long time, and probably isn't a sustainable solution since Lenovo is trying to phase out the ZUK brand and I can only assume that they won't run the OTA servers forever.
I know that, obviously, the ZUI 1.9 QPST files include at least one more partition than later versions because they re-lock the bootloader (at least, they include a fresh bootloader). So yes, for the sake of completion, if one is trying to eliminate all possible leftover garbage and do a completely clean bring-up to a custom ROM to stick with for a while, I can understand beginning with flashing ZUI 1.9 QPST package via QFIL. I've done that too.
I'm not even going to touch on just doing the baseband flashes via TWRP; that might be fine, but if I already have QFIL set up and official ZUI firmware QPST packages then I think it's safer to just use those.
My specific question that I'd like you to discuss is: what's the practical difference between doing OTA updates after a 1.9 QFIL flash (which would require a good internet connection for several LARGE downloads and sideloading VPN software to get the latest versions, trusting that Lenovo keeps the OTA servers available for our phone, and takes a LONG time), vs. doing successive version QFIL flashes - that is, flash 1.9 and boot, then either go successively through 2.3, 2.5, and 3.1 or going straight from 1.9 to 3.1 (which doesn't require Lenovo's OTA servers to keep working or VPN, and the only internet connection you need is a little bit of data use for initial setup of the phone each time, and is MUCH faster). If the goal is to make sure that we didn't "miss anything" by doing OTA updates, wouldn't successively flashing QPST packages via QFIL do exactly that, in a fraction of the time?
I look forward to your insights, thanks folks.
You can flash 1.9.104 st and then 3.1.194 st by qfil . You don't have to use ota . Besides , I think that 3.5 with android 8 will relock bootloader as well .

Relocking bootloader isn't an issue; it's just two more fastboot commands to unlock it again (and I assume EVERYONE here is being very careful to save their unlock file and making backups, riiiiight?). Doing 1.9 and then straight to 3.1 QPST packages via QFIL (well then going to 3.5 dev leaks if my goal is an Oreo-based ROM) and then unlocking bootloader, setting up VoLTE in ZUI, and then going to town with TWRP, wiping internal storage/data/system/cache/dalvik and installing custom ROM/gapps/magisk has been my standard bring-up procedure for custom ROMs, and it seems to work well - I don't get wifi/bluetooth problems now, VoLTE works, and with AEX 5.1 I even have wifi calling working at home. I just thought it was good to compare vs. OTA updating, because that seems more & more to be unnecessary to be sure you're "doing it right".
All full zui roms flash all partitions . Zui 1.9.104 is not special . It' s the same . Only one difference is that relocked bootloader . I tried relock bootloader by twrp and was successed . The point is to unroot zui and flash stock recovery from zui you have . But when you back from custom the best way is flash 1.9 . That's all .
From my experience, performing the manual flash gave me the dreaded camera shake issue. Then again, the last QFIL load I did was via OTA and the problem sometimes resurfaces when starting up the Google Camera Mod. A firm tap usually gets rid of it, but it's bloody irritating all the same.
Recently, I've encountered the issue of my USB 3.0 ports/cable not reading my connection as USB 3 (which is far easier to flash 1.9 with without Sahara errors), so manual might be my only go-to should I ever need to flash back to ZUI again.
Hello, i had Dec 5 OTA + Magisk rooted device.
i tried to update but it said failed. so i uninstalled magisk and restored to stock boot.img but still saying update failed.
someone said to relock bootloader. i tried to relock bootloader and my data got erased.
even after that i tried to update OTA and im still getting failed update.
i dont know what to do now. can anyone please help me.
i have the same problem
help us please
after doing a bit of searching i fixed it.
i simply flashed my device with Stock Rom 10.0.0.2 using Mi Flash Tool. (there are plenty of youtube tutorials).
after that my device installed the OTA updaet without any error.
after that i rooted my device with Magisk. [patched_boot is already been posted on this forum]
so far, haven't come across any problem. Just not satisfied with the volume update. i had a magisk module for low volume fix which worked better.
What's really needed is full images from Xiaomi, so we can start flashing them manually without worrying about OTAs
See how well the DAISY thread is being maintained https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2-lite/how-to/ota-v9-6-4-0-odlmiff-t3823913

I have flashed the V10.0.13.0.PDLMIXM (and locked back oem) but I still have the google update problem... from June to September 2019 :/... any idea?
Hi all.
I've just bought this device. When I first launched it, it was on miui9, i updated to miui 10 stable 10.0.3.0 (8.1 Android) via ota. Then, I saw that I could also upgrade to miui 11. However, I've read that battery is worse than Miui 10 so I don't know If I should install it.
I've unlocked the recovery because I want to try some custom roms but I'm a bit scared of the anti-rollback.
Could you please tell me what should I do?
Thanks all.
Before you do anything you need to figure out which device you own. You bought it and you already unlocked the bootloader? That generally takes 360 hours, are you sure it wasn't already unlocked? If it was unlocked you probably have a Chinese device, and in that case be extremely careful about not relocking the bootloader. if the phone is not bound to your account ( linked to you personally) then you could brick it and have no recourse.
if you unlocked it yourself and you have a locked device , then don't worry about anti-rollback. So far it has not been implemented. Next, you heard wrong about Miui 11, its battery is equally as good. Although the best version of Miui and currently the most stable Android 10 overall is Xiaomi.EU which is a custom rom based on the china beta but globalised, with Google services.
Again do your homework, avoid extremely old posts that are no longer relevant. Never attempting upgrading your screen refresh and never flash someone else's persist image and you will be good. This community has tons of infor...read a lot and take your own notes.

Hi Thanks for your reply.
My device is global version (not just global ROM, I do know the difference)
I am unlocked the bootloader using the Xiaomi official tool, i had to activate the developer tools on the device and check the bootloader status and the button which was there ( U know what I mean). Besides, when I turn on the device it says unlocked.
I've read that miui 11 has kinda bad sot because of miui and/or the bug with WhatsApp. So I don't know if I have to update via ota and If I do that I don't know if I will have any problems while trying to install a custom ROM.
I've had a Xiaomi before so I know that I shouldn't install strange zips.
Thank you

Yes, the last build of Xiaomi.EU had worse SOT than usual ( about 5 hours. However, the issue was only with one of the weekly builds) I personally resolved that issue for myself by flashing the kernel from the previous build. Also, Xiaomi.EU is updated every Thursday so later today there will be a new build that will very likely resolve the issue. On the other hand the stable builds do not have an issue with SOT. At least not in my experience. I have averaged around 8 to 9 hours SOT.
I don't use Whatsapp, so I can't help you with that.
Since you were previously on stock you will need to backup your data, if you are still using stock, backup to MiCloud as well. This way if you use a Miui based rom you can quickly restored most of your data and partial settings. You will also need to format use storage (type yes, reboot to recovery)

I see.
I've just updated to miui 11 stable via ota.
BTW, Is TWRP the best recovery for this device isn't it? I've read that exist other types of recovery (not CWM but someones).
And my last question, I cannot find which version of gcam fits on miui 11 (Android Pie). Is there any thread, telegram channel?
Thanks for all.

Personally I use the TWRP that I posted here : I talked to a few friends / android developers on other devices and several of them believe that this a TWRP issue.
I have not had any more of these issues since using this TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80952013&postcount=121
If using AOSP, you should use the official version.
The best Gcam ( I Think is by Sanity )
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-san1ty/
FYI the builds made for the Poco F1 and Razer 2 are also compatible.

Thank for helping me.
As I've posted in the official twrp thread, I was able to install twrp and get to it but after power off the phone and try to get there again miui recovery was there instead.
I've installed the last build of twrp 3.3.1.1.
Maybe If I install magisk via TWRP I will have twrp *forever*.(?)
Thank you man

No problem.
After installing TWRP, you must initially install Root and then reboot to recovery.
Often you will see a message asking if you want to install the TWRP manager, click those boxes and then proceed to rebooting to recovery.
If you are using the full stock Rom, you must have root, so anytime that you flash the official Global stable rom, or an update, flash root again...unless you see via the Recovery terminal that Root maintained it's persistence.

Okey, I'll try tomorrow again.
Thanks.
I received version 11.0.6 OTA update notification for EEA stock rom which I tried to install with OrangeFox recovery i had installed. The installation failed and phone refuged to boot. So I formatted data. I've now flashed the stock recovery to install the OTA update. But it's been few days and I'm not receiving the latest OTA.
So I wonder if there is a place where we can download OTA directly.

Literally 30 seconds of searching on google and I found it. You could found it on google faster than opening this thread and writing this post.
Anyway here you have it:

Hey thanks.
Perhaps I should have added that I meant the small ota update which is like 186 mb for this update.
My usual internet is screwed and not being fixed because of coronavirus. So I'm unable to download large files these days.
