I've never seen a phone launch apps so quickly. Perfect in this department.

there are a couple speed comparisons on yt with other 835s where 5T loads apps same speed, but there is consistently 1 fraction delay upon launch. maybe memory chips/controller a hair slower?
so yes, superfast, but not quite perfect

in the blink of an eye

One word to describe, FAST..

Scrolling smoothness

Some phones exhibit choppy scrolling, especially when navigating long web pages when multiple apps are running in the background. Rate this thread to express how you smooth scrolling feels on the HTC 10 under such conditions. A higher rating indicates that scrolling is always buttery smooth, even when you're reading a 10,000 word article on "how to kiss a girl".

Darn, I hope it'll just get better once HTC starts patching and updating things more. If rumors are true that HTC will probably make a Nexus variant of the 10, you would say we'd see a lot of improvements on the side of the 10, unless they vastly revamp the hardware. post #600 hurrah
I'm actually experiencing some stuttering while scrolling on some apps. Google Plus, Facebook and phone settings are the most noticeable
I've noticed this problem too and it's more prominent in some apps than others. It also happens more frequently when the app is still loading content. Is this considered a malfunction of the phone or does it not happen to all HTC 10?

Didn't notice it on my Nexus 5.
It depends on the app. Other than being app based, I experience nothing different than my SHIELD or iPad

I think it was something messed up after playing with several themes for a while. After a memory cleanup and a restart, everything's back to smooth again

I personally don't see any slow downs, compared to my old phone, nexus 6P, id say it's on par. Speed up animations to 0.5.
HTC sense since the m7 has always been snappy though. I'd have expected no less from the 10 and sense 8.
I suppose if you loaded it with tonnes of widgets and had a few things running it may slow but the 820 isn't a slouch and should cope with pretty much anything
mine is always buttery smooth unless I'm using it while its charging. I'm assuming thats a heat caused issue though.
I've never encountered any slowdowns.Sense 8 is as snappy as stock Android.
Buttery Smooth
Scrolling is always smooth. No matter how many apps are running in the background or how long the pages I am browsing are, it's just amazing. :good::good:
Check your SD card
Hi everyone, I had this problem and I was wondering why, suddenly I had a problem with the SD card (Sandisk 128 GB) which I never doubted its performance. So I reformat it on the phone, and the phone became 10 times more responsive, no glitches (unless extremely minor android glitches), and can report that the phone is really a beast. So I highly recommend if you have an SD card, especially old one, to reformat it and give it a try.
Smooth as a baby's bottom.
Never a lag with the 10
WOW, I have never got a lag on this device and it is no surprise.

Overall speed

Would you say that the BLU R1 HD is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the BLU R1 HD exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?

It is not very fast (1.3GHz Mediatek) but it doesn't feel slow doing day to day tasks.
Zero lag in non-gaming tasks. Quite amazing. And I'm comparing to Galaxy S7.

Agreed
I find it snappy enough to meet my needs.
Owning a Nexus 6P as my main phone, I wasn't expecting too much out of the R1. However after getting things setup for my son with a freedompop SIM I am damn impressed for it being a $60 phone! Very happy with the purchase!
For me, it gets laggy from time to time. But a restart will usually do the trick to pep it up again. I've seen nothing that is nearly as extreme as what this guy on Android Police wrote : http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...-eleven-the-slowening-begins-i-take-a-hiatus/.
I have no lag, very similar to my s6 Edge+.

Yeah, I don't know what that guy is talking about. Maybe he completely filled his internal storage, which can bog it down. After two weeks, I haven't seen any additional slowdown in my usage.
I am using this till I find another phone to purchase and I came from a Nexus 5x. Its definitely slower on speed but I am very surprised how well it works. I wont "miss" anything too terribly for the meantime.
Works well

Multitasking/RAM

You're busy and don't have time to wait, which is why you need to stop reading this thread and get back to organizing your Pogs. Rate this thread to express how the LG V20 performs when multitasking. A higher rating indicates that the LG V20 keeps many apps in memory so that they don't need to reload, and that when moving between apps, transitions are smooth and performance is excellent.

I would only give this phone a 2 out of 10 for multitasking. Luckily it's a powerhouse and can open apps from scratch quickly.
I only ever have between 4 and 10 apps in my recent list. My old HTC m9 would keep dozens in memory with less ram. Still, I'm very happy with the LG V20. Just waiting for root...
Multitasking works way better than my n4. However I still think multiwindow works better with samsung phones.

Why 2 out of 10, you comment that another phone had more apps with less memory, however that by no means tells anything about how the system is managing memory.
What are you seeing in the v20 that makes you think it's only rating a 2? Curious for details.

I would give the phone overall a rating of 8 out of 10.
But I would give the Multitasking / Memory Management a 2 or 3. As an example, I woke this morning and checked my recent apps list, only 4 apps were there. All other apps were closed off overnight for some reason. I'm not sure if this is an LG thing or because of Nougat. But I would have hoped that 4GB could hold more apps in RAM. Hopefully, if the 990ds gets root, then I can remove some bloat and tweak the memory management somewhat.
As I said, I would give the phone overall a rating of 8 out of 10

I am a scrolling smoothness fanatic.
I even wrote a custom app to try and understand wtf was up with the note 7 scrolling: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/help/note-7-weird-scrolling-touchwiz-root-t3455650
Every since I switched from iPhone a couple of years ago, I could never get that same smooth feeling. I went through about 7 android devices looking for that.
Now that that's clear, here is my review :
This phone is a revelation. I do not know how such smoothness is even possible.
It is the smoothest phone I saw in my entire life. It's even taking the luxury of over performing the iPhone.
I love it
Agreed. This thing puts the Pixel 2 series to shame when it comes to butter smoothness, not to mention app loading.
Hi. Do you guys find the scrolling to be choppy when scrolling slowly? For me it is very choppy.

That's definitely how it is for some of us. Mine was worse than shown in the video but since the latest OOS update (4.7.4) it has improved considerably. Still seeing some stuttering going on here and there but for the most part it's cleared up.
Brand new 2 day old phone no root, bootloader locked and everything installed and setup from scratch.
My personal experience so far, other than the initial lag/stutter, has be mostly positive and I'm loving my new phone.
Can't wait to root and unlock the bootloader to open this puppy up and see what she can REALLY do.
I figured out what it was. It was an app that I downloaded to monitor usage and it was causing lag and scrolling. I did a factory reset and now everything is working smooth as butter

The phone is pretty smooth. I usually have about 6/8 apps opened in background and the phone never gave me any problem.
Just purchased Note 6 Pro (India) 4/64GB for a family memeber of mine.
Updated the phone after first boot to latest stable MiUi 10. Went to Play Store for app updates.
Now here at play store I see some stuttering while clicking an app to expand from update screen. Just as the screen is enlarging, there is that stuttering.
Apart from that over all the stock launcher is running rest of the stuff smoothly.
Not complaining since I chose this over MiA2 SD660 knowing the performance issue of SD636 to compare with.
Thanks

I am talking about SD660 vs SD636
SD636 is best when running 720p 16:9/10 but it isn't that fluid when you bump up the resolution to 1080p 19:9 or such. Specially when SD660 is sold at same price point with MiA2.
As I wrote above, I knew the difference I may face, so I am not complaining but simply stating the experience that I am getting.
Thanks.
