Are there any Marshmallow or Nougat ROMs for the nook HD (Hummingbird) that are 100% right side up?
Does anyone know a fix aside from locking the orientation in settings?
After searching this seems to be the only "fix" I have found.
Every ROM newer than Lollipop that I have tried is flipped 180 degrees. I can lock the launcher to stay correct, but most apps still flip upside down once they are opened.
This is driving me batty.
Thank you

I'm currently working with cm_hummingbird-ota-MMB29T.160129. So far I see no upside-downness except with the HDMI output which is easily fixed (see my related post).
The only issue I have with the ROM so far (except for the ever-present shut-down issue...) is Trebuchet. Removing an icon from the home screen throws it onto a blank page. No big deal, but trying to reposition an icon does the same! I finally just installed Nova Launcher and all is good. So far.
Thanks, I'll give that one a spin once I find the download.

I am going to be honest, I don't know much about this phone quite yet. My coworker traded this phone to me and it came installed with PACMAN rom. I scrolled to the right on my lockscreen and there was a camera widget there and now my screens drivers are all messed up. There's lines all over the screen and sometimes when the screen goes to deep sleep it goes to like a negative color scheme. Any clue how to fix this?

Can ANYONE help me?
My PACman or Echo's? -- go to about phone and see the kernel being used -- mine'll either be [email protected] or [email protected]
And what camera widget?
Still don't have any idea what your problem is, but the more info the better.
And if that widget app is the cause, better than no one else uses it.

The image is below of what the issue actually is.
I have Nexus 5 with Chroma installed and Pioneer 4100NEX.
I plug in my phone into USB port 2, go thru setup process on my phone, then I get to this screen on my head unit. I can't seem to get pass it. Anyone have any ideas? I tried restoring my head unit and phone, but I haven't tried a different ROM yet. My head unit detects the AndroidAuto device, but I can't get pass this "Drive safely..." prompt.
Well, I cannot post any links yet, but I'll do my best to explain the screen I see. The bottom half of screen is sky blue with a checkbox and "do not display this notice again." I have seen other videos where this sky blue portion is only along the bottom of the screen, but mine takes up half the screen. The checkbox to accept the prompt overlap with "do not display this notice again," so I can't get pass it...

Hiya
Are you using cm 12.1 nightly? Looks like the density / resolution is off so the button you need is hidden.
They changed something in one of them which mucks up the screen density / resolution.
I found the 22nd nightly for one plus works at the right resolution which will allow you to click the buttons you need.
Check your devices cm change log for density and goto the night before.

Sorry just saw chroma mentioned in your post... Stand by that the density is wrong as such would try a different room. Shouldn't look like that.
Appreciate the tip. I found the density setting. Mine is currently at "480 DPI (device default)."

Hiya
I don't think that makes much / any difference, didn't for me, that changes the density on the phone but not on android auto.
I got the 8.0.0 update (Jan 1 security patch)
With this update there are some small UI changes are driving me nuts. Some notable ones:
-I have to swipe up/down to answer/reject a phone call (previously was right/left)
-Grid for the pull down configuration menu is now 2x3, used to be 3x3
-Ring/Media volume bars switched places
-The number pad on the dialer covers the whole screen, hiding the mute and speaker buttons
Does anyone know- is there a motorolla skin on this I can uninstall that will revert this changes? I haven't found anything. it's so annoying.
You are correct, UI under nougat was better
It didn't "mess up" anything...it's all UI changes. If it's absolutely unusable, there are many guides here to flash the older firmware onto this device. Or there is always alternative apps for the dialer that I'm sure you can use in place of the stock one.

I've seen some oreo pics that reflect a UI that is different from what I see on my x4. for example, the drop down configuration menu is still 3x3 https://cdn57.androidauthority.net/...ttings-android-8.0-oreo-review-5-1340x754.jpg
So I'm thinking motorolla has something installed which is causing these oddities. And if there is, I'm trying to figure out how to remove it. Or maybe there is a config somewhere I just haven't found yet.
Here's mine, looks about the right *shrug*

I think it's the case with regular variant of Moto X4 and not android one variant.

does it still have font size and display size customization?
Why did it messed up? I've only found a bit disorientating the new settings menu. Other than that everything looks fine to me. Also the toggles grid is still 3x3 on mine but I thing is due to the fact that I have the UI and text scaling on the lowest setting. Try making the UI as small as possible and make the text bigger just a notch. I think you'll get back the 3x3 quick toggles grid. I'm on the Moto edition, not the Project Fi or Amazon edition.
Like the Subject title reads, can we start a list of all the known errors discovered in the Android Pie update, for the Mate 10 series phones?
:highfive:This will be a great thread to see if it is worth upgrading to Pie, for us still stuck on Oreo.
I have found 2 issues so far
1. recents doesn't play well with 3rd party launchers(workaround is to disable emui launcher trough adb)
2. Navbar has delay for 1 sec after adapting to colour of opened apps when using 3rd party launcher
Had some few glitches like gps icon stayed turned on while nothing was using gps and gpu turbo floating icon stayed on after exiting game.

Apparantly the new Gallery App is also not that great:
"The new photo gallery is a crap ,, whats the point of creating a new allbum called all photos ??
I miss the old one ,,,
And the worst thing is the new signal bars on the left with notifications !! What the heck is huawei thinking ?? We don't have a notch ,, this new emui is bs update"
As mentioned, Nova also buggy:
"So far, nova launcher is buggy, especially animations, and the previously working google cam port stopped working"
&
"Nova working fine here with the exception of recents and gestures. "
And also uses more RAM than on EMUI 8 / Oreo:
"EMUI 9 is soooo ram hungry. Dropping below a gig here from light use and everything is refreshing. "
Well dont know about ram. Its same for me as before
atm while doing nothing its sitting at 3gb just like in oreo.
Only problem I have noticed is that's sometimes apps just went to recent by itself... usually when I'm typing - chatting. But it's overall fast to go back , sometimes it's annoying. For me ram management is ok, just like in oreo. Few graphic glitches here and there.

Navbar is too sensitive. I usually hit Home now when I'm hitting Space.
And/or big thumbs.

Maybe that's the reason, I hope that they will fix it soon :fingers-crossed:
I think in oreo there was like 1 second delay when pressing on screen and then trying to press navbar. it woudnt allow you to do that right away.
I'm getting the strong impression the Pie update, for the Mate 10 series, needs some more fine tuning. Maybe, with some updates it'll get better.
Let's get those bugs listed guys! :highfive:
Don't see a difference with the "super macro" mode in new camera software
MATE 10. The recent apps screen is ****, if you hit the one app that's halfway hidden on the side you just get dumped back to where you were without opening that app.
The camera app in my mate 10 eats up literally 600MB of RAM wtf? Also RAM usage in general is higher almost than EMUI 8 on the Mate 10, where I had 2.2GB free most of the timein 8.0, now the usual is 1.8GB, so that's 400MB more of RAM used for EMUI 9.

Yup, I also had this problem - it does bug me, typing a message and kept clicking home. I changed the nav bar to be hidden and use gestures now (swipe up for home, swipe left / right for back, swipe up and hold for task manager). This works for me!
Couple of other things I've noticed - takes a while to archive a gmail email in the notifications - there's a delay which wasn't there before.
Ran a AnTuTu benchmark - previously it was around 200,000 - its now reporting about 160,000 but apart from the gmail delay (above) the phone still feels snappy! I then saw the performance setting (under battery) and switched this on to re-benchmark - got around 210,000 this time.
I've switched performance mode back off for now.

It should have been obvious I guess! When I switch the performance mode on clearing these notifications is much quicker - this is the only thing I have really noticed in terms of speed with / without performance mode in the first couple of days.

Can you describe what is the problem?
So far it works good on my phone. I have installed MicroG first and then YouTube Vanced. There is additional Google entry in the accounts list for MicroG.
No more force LTE Only option, although you have tweak it before the update using System Editor. Hmmm...

Somehow the files from their site dont work.
I downloaded from alternative site and it worked w/o issues.
Hi,
I have just got EMUI 9 and installed nova prime. Everything is ALMOST fine.
The recent page is problematic :
1. Sometimes there's this blue hue in recents
2. Tapping on neighbouring apps edge causes the recents to close to home screen
Am I the only one with problems like these? Default huawei launcher works without such problems (sadly no hide apps or folder creation in the drawer)

Yeah I have these behaviours.
I guessed the blue tint is by design, a crappy design. Not sure if it's a bug but it doesn't look good imo. Also have the same issue with the recents on Nova. Annoying you have to line up the app you want centrally otherwise it just closes.
Despite these I'm loving my phone more than ever now. It's absolutely flying after resetting and doing a deep debloat. Am keeping performance mode on constantly now too as battery is fine still.
