M7 BT Audio suddenly stopped working - CRITICAL - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Device Info
HTC ONE M7 INTL
ROM 5.0.2 InsertCoin7 *Sense7*
flar EX Kernel 22 Sense
Experienced Android User seeking support..
I've been using this phone for the last 4 yrs and after a recent reboot ... all of a sudden BT Media/Audio does not work AT ALL.
Checked the following:
1. Pair/Unpair - delete all known BT devices, clear data etc.
2. Tried using headphone jack in/out
3. Tried toggling Beats
4. Tried toggling Viper4Android
Here's the kicker:
AFTER pairing with my Beats PIll / BT Headphone / Any other BT Sound device -
Pairing is SUCCESSFUL -
Options are MEDIA / PHONE / CONTACTS
But the music is still coming out of built in speakers...
I have not changed FW or ROM or anything in Kernel it just suddenly started doing this.
---
Tested using Lineage/AIcP
# I flashed AICP 12.1 Android 712 (Oct 2017) just for testing and new Nougat ROM had bluetooth audio routed perfectly..
My question:
Is there any system/etc , tfa / or any other system file (or driver/bt profile/hw module) which may have been corrupted somehow?
Would very much appreciate if someone using same device with knowledge of the critical sound card related files could help me out.
..I have reflashed ICOIN ROM and restored TWRP Data but problem persists..
TIA

Continuum 5.5 ROM Bluetooth will not enable. (Finally working at this moment)
I know there seems to be issues with Talon kernel and bluetooth. Just sharing my experience in hopes it may spark some resolution.
Around January I installed Paragon ROM, ran both v5 and v6 and did not have any issues with Bluetooth or GPS functions.
Last month I installed Continuum 5.5 and initially had no issues using bluetooth until tonight.
Tonight I installed a Touchwiz MOD and after rebooting Bluetooth continued to function but GPS would not enable.
I had read in the Continuum thread not clearing cache or not using the revert before applying other mods(mostly related to themes) may cause system issues.
Thinking it might help I ran the Continuum5.5revert update then applied the Touchwiz MOD again.
GPS started working at this point.
Bluetooth now will not enable.
Forum search results indicated different versions of the TalonDEV kernel may or may not fix the issue.
Applied TalonDEV-0.2.1-JVH
Bluetooth still not working
Applied XXJVK Modem.zip
Bluetooth still not working
Attempted to apply the same Modem from Paragon ROM which failed with CWM error, update process no longer supported [depreciated]
(update.i9000ugjk4.modem.zip)
Reapplied XXJVK Modem.zip, Theme and TouchWiz MOD
Bluetooth now appears to be working.
Through the processes above at various CWM zip install points I would 'fix permissions' before and after applying a zip install.
Again, for reference I did not experience Bluetooth or GPS issues Paragon ROM ~~ If there is anything to take away from that ROM. ( I know they are all unique )
Currently using
Continuum 5.5

[MOD] Modified TouchWiz Launcher for Gingerbread [V4]

Yeah its a JVH kernel thing no current fix yet
Bluetooth and GPS is still working on my phone today even after some reboots and a touchwiz change.
Then the wife starts getting irked that her bluetooth wasn't working on her Captivate so I did the following.

WifeApp v1.10 remains happy. She said if this didn't work I would have to set her phone back to stock ATT and let it auto legit update. I am glad it worked cause a little part of me would be crying inside.
Wow... you went through a sh*tload of work it seems. I'm running Continuum 5.5 with latest public release of Talon kernel and I have BT issues too. Existz knows about the bt issues with the kernel and is working on a fix.
The way I can get BT to work temporarily is to do the following: turn wifi off, reboot phone, turn on bt. Then bt turns on and I can turn wifi back on if I want to as well and bt will remain active for quite some time.

[Q] CM 10.1 Issue with Google Now and Audio via BT

Hello everybody,
need to post my questions here, as I am not allowed to post with in the Developer area (noob).
I got successfully installed CM 10.1 (nightly 02/05) and Gaaps (20130301) on my P880 and this CM nightly is running very very smooth. However I have two issues left that are connected to CM, as there were not apperent with Stock rooted JB (v20a):
1. Audio Stream via Bluetooth
- I am using Apollo player and stream music in my car via bt
- in unregular steps music is lagging (volume decreasing for a second and than rising again). It happens mostly with MP3s which have a high bitrate <160kbps . Files with a bitrate of 128 are clear and perfect
2. Symbols on Weather cards in Google Now
- the weather symbols are missing (see attached picture)
- uninstalling and installing again via play didn't help
I've rolled back to stock v20a to cross check this two issues. The do not show up with the LG Rom. After flashing CM (02.05 nightly) (full wipe with format) via CWM the two issues appear again..
Would be very greatful for any advise!?

Bluetooth cannot be turned on

Hi all,
i've a problem with my Bluetooth on my device. I tried several Roms (Samsung Stock / deblured / CM 10 , 11, 12 / Ressurection ) / wiped the cache / dalvik also the internal storage nothing helps. On all Roms after restart of the device i got the message (Bluetooth share has been shutdown.). This message comes up several times.
I need to close through the BLuetooth Share under the apps several times and then the message does not appear anymore.
I havent found any way to get rid of this message and get Blueetoth back to work. As WLAN is working fine (afaik same chip) it needs to be a software issue.
i've also checked the efs folder. there is a bluetooth file with the bluetooth adress.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks
Maves

TWRP updated to version 3.3.1-0.
I've flashed it and performance wise it's really good but I've found 2 bugs:
1 Video playback, at least on YouTube (the audio and video are out of sync and maybe it's caused because your kernel may be based on the one with overclocking, which had the same issue, maybe you could base your kernel on the stock one)
2 NFC (the toggle is there but it doesn't want to turn on)
Anyway, apart from that, you've done a really great job :good:
EDIT: I've also found that the sdcard is recognized but it complains that it is unsupported

Unfortunately, stock kernel is uncompatible with this ROM. Actually, I thought the problem with out of sync audio was solved. I'll try to find the solution.

If you can, try to save logs. From adb shell or terminal (can be enabled in developer settings) before enabling NFC run the following commands:
Code:
logcat -c
start logcat
start kmsgcat
Then try to enable NFC and after unsuccessful try execute next commands:
Code:
stop logcat
stop kmsgcat
After that, there's gonna be two files: /tmp/logcat and /tmp/log_kmsg
Upload them here.

Actually, there were not complains about SD card. May be you have to format it. And don't try to enable adpotable storage - device doesn't support hardware encryption.
The video problem seems to be gone . Whenever I can I'll send you logs about NFC. I've also found a bug when I turn on wifi and connect my Bluetooth headphones at the same time, wifi disconnects slot but not with wired headphones. I'll send logs about that too. About the SDCARD I'll try to format it with the phone

Ok, first of all, I've formatted the sdcard and now it works. I've also taken logs about the NFC not turning on. I don't know anytning about this stuff but I've seen that there's some .so files that aren'lo loading properly and some .config files that I've checked to see if they were there but they weren't. Lets see if you can get anything useful out of them.

Does this ROM work P7L00? Has anyone tried?
what a great Xmas present all working as a charm, at least what I use on a daily basis. A bit of battery drain but it's like the P7 that should have always been!
So many thanks for this rom. But i have a lot of problems. Bluetooth headspeaker not working with call(I paired, call checked on Bluetooth, Bluetooth headset checked on call screen and all sound full but not speaking and not listening). I can listening music lowly with Headphone but all sound is full. And last one, install Magisk but I can't pass Safetynet (Please give me advice).

Battery drain on my cellphone (P7) is very high. 5 or 6 hours lasts the battery charge, some recommendation?

Explain better please. The problem is with battery drain or with very long battery charge?
I would recommend Wakelock Detector or BetterBatteryStats to find out the source of battery drain.
If the problem with battery charge, I would recommend replace charger or wire or both better.

in my case it's battery drain. As advised, I installed wakelock detector which showed me the Google SMS messages app that I installed was the reason for the battery drain.
I have removed it and reverted to the built-in SMS messages app.

I really loved this rom when i tried it. The issue I faced was it does not detect my earphones, it still plays the audio on device speaker instead of the wired earphones. Will try with Bluetooth earpods when they arrive. Any workaround would be appreciated
Excellent ROM, I tested it on the a305g, I hope the next version without bugs. Thank you.
Bluetooth Problems
Hello dev, I really appreciate your work. I tested this on my SM-A305F/DS and most of the features work great. The only problem I am facing is Bluetooth, you never told us about Bluetooth bugs. So I paired my phone to my earbuds (Haylou GT1 Plus) and Bluetooth keeps switching off after 1-2 seconds of pairing. It's unusable. After a while, a box comes up saying "Bluetooth keeps stopping" or something like that. I haven't tested with other devices yet but this bug is pretty annoying, please consider fixing this. Thanks!
And by the way, v1 is acting the same thing.
If the hotspot isn't working, try this method.
Open hotspot settings > set up portable hotspot > Change the device identification to default. Try turning on the hotspot. Good luck
plz update this rom our fix dual sim
Region problem not solved... Its doesn't get changed only phone gets reboot everytime
please update the rom
hello dear cytolytic
I love miui rom, please try to update and make it completely stable for everyday use. Thanks a lot?
Hi,
any luck with the sim slot 2?
i flashed the kernel used by SAKURA PROJECT ROM and the brightness slider works like magic even auto brightness works but unfortunately i still have to use your SIM fix to get one sim slot working, SIM 2 slot still doesn't work.
I have seen MIUI rom working well with other phones by they use the Ryzen Kernel but there is none for A30 at the moment.
