If you're facing a problem of screen boarder flickering problem,
which only happens on all 3rd party roms, not on stock rom,
here's a temporarily way to avoid it.
1. Install "Flat Style Bar Indicators" (of course you need xposed installed)
2.Get in to the app, and press "Carrier"
3.Set "Text Size" to about 25
4.Set "Max Width" = 1
5.open "Marquee"
6.set "Custom text" the more text the longer it won't flickers. I choose dots "........."
Here's all of it.
I don't know what's going on, but I found that when screen stop updating,
the LCD will start flickering, so I set status bar to keep updating screen.
Through this way, you can finally use custom rom
Still hope some one can fix it fundamentally.
It woks!! Thanks a lot brother.. Waiting for permanent fix
I found the quickest way to solve this: Replace a new LCD panel, you won't see that unless LCD get old again

Well I managed to do something and my background image got locked -- I can only change it by going to settings -> Today -> "Use image" -- but this forces 50%+ transparency on the image...
If I try to do it as I used to, Pictures & Videos -> Click image -> Set as today background (0%)... the background image does not change... If i have the waterfall background and i switch to pond at 0% transparency, my phone stays on waterfall with the default ~65% transparency....
I've been looking everywhere for an answer -- what causes this, how can it be fixed, or perhaps even where's the registry key to force 0% transparency from Today screen images?
Thanks for the help
Have you tried unticking the "use this image as background" option and then selecting another image in pictures and videos?
yeah, it goes back to the default theme background and the new image does NOT become the background -- not even with the crappy transparency settings...
I've tried all 4 themes that come with the phone, it all results in the exact same situation... I can change it if i accept the crappy transparency from the today menu.. but cant do it from other programs
the same thing happened to me with my wizard. I fixed it by going to pictures and videos and then selecting the image i wanted all the way down to 0%. Instead of pressing the OK button at the top corner, press it on your keyboard.
Let me know if that works.
Michael
Good catch, yup.. problem solved..
Perhaps it has to do with the "tap" vs. "Tap and hold" the X button setting... I did change that a bit before i started noticing the issue
hi all!
just got myself a diamond yesterday after spending 8 months with a n95 8gb... overall impressive phone but coming from a dopod d810, i find the system status dialog/touchflow 3d interface extremely annoying!
how do i remove them???
system status dialog -> where you can click on the volume, date, 3G icons on the top right hand side of the phone
also anybody knows how to remove the functionality where you press the vol up/down and it changes the system volume?
Hard Reset the daimond. When it boots up after configuration and when it says 3 seconds to customize , press reset.
PS : Opera also wont be installed. you can download opera cab seperately
If it's just the interface, why not uncheck it from Settings>Today ? Or does it come back? Not tried it yet myself

Click to collapse
start->preferences->system->TouchFLo
unselect third checkbox..
Allright .. that´t the way to disable TouchFlo...
but how can we get rid of the system status dialog?
(another way than soft reset before HTC customizing runs...)
thx alot...
one more here that is really seeking to get rid of that awfull system status.....
thats the only thing so far i really hated on the diamond
Doesn't my solution (3 posts up from here) work to disable the system status dialog window?
It works for me (MDA Compact IV -Dutch)
yes it works real fine, the problem is everyone still wants the touchflow 3d
we just want to get rid of the system status on the upper corner
Guys..
instead of the full screen system status, do U think I can get the original Touch/Cruise system bubble instead? It's similar to the full screen, but the icons are slightly bigger and appears on top of the screen in a bubble.
Any ideas?
I also find the system status page an unnecessary step. Coming from an Imate K-jam, I preffered just pressing on the icon at the top (alarm bell / envelope / handset etc) to take me to the pop-up bubble at the bottom of the screen where I could either enter open the inbox / call register/calender etc or dismiss.
I read somewhere that the system status page is to bring up large icons for finger pressing. I don't understand the logic of this as the only way I bring up the system status page is by pressing on a small icon in the title bar!
I would like to be able to remove this system status screen step
Why does everone ignores the answer already given??
* To disable the Systemstatus screen, go to Settings>System>Touchflo
* untick the third checkbox wich states (translated from Dutch): "Show Systemstatuswindow when ticked on statusicons"

The idea is that you don't have to aim so precise, just press anywhere near the icons and then you can take your pick by pressing an easy target.
Anyway I do agree with you that it is an annoying extra step, it is a good thing it can be disabled (see previous post).
hi
any idea why my elf does not have 3 options but only 1 "enable sound when finger scrolling and panning"
Is there any workaround to turn off the touchflow?
maybe it's because I was flashed the rom to an "original orange" version?
thanks

Same here, but I found this registry key that helped me (i really hate the big system status menu!) :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\EnlargeTitleBar\Enable which must be 0 to disable it! You don't even need to reboot, works instant!
Ever since I updated the ROM, I really hate that big system status screen.
I thought I would have had to live with it, so I am very glad to found this thread.
Thanks guys!!!

Start|Settings|System|Touchflo| uncheck "Show System Status screen when status icons are tapped"
Start|Settings|Personal|Today|Items| uncheck "TouchFLO 3D"
Settings > System > Touchflo > untick Show system status....
EDIT: oops, didn't see the 2nd page.
i need help :/
sorry this doesnt really relate to the other posts i dont know how to post a message on my on. (just registered today)
But does anyone know how to change the clock on the title bar on the top of the HTC Touch Pro from a clock icon to the normal digital clock. i somehow changed it while on the phone and i just CANT figure out how to change it back.
If anyone can please help me i would reallyyyy appreciate it!
I have a problem that my phone pops up notifications - but they are blank.
The phone is a Kaiser/TyTnII ( Used to be Vodafone 1615 )
I am pretty sure that this phone has been flashed with one of the XDA ROMs as i have just done a hard reset and i still have touchFlo and a bunch of other non standard looking utilities on the phone.
The about box for TouchFlo says version 1.0 ( Build 1818.3719 ) which i am pretty sure having read all about the touchflo project for the Kaiser on the XDA developers is a version created here.
So now that i have given some background, back to the problem... pretty much everything on the phone seems to work ok. But the really annoying bug is this notification pop up.
eg. Set a calendar appointment for a few minutes in the future, set a reminder.
.... few minutes passes ... notification pops up
whole screen dims and at the bottom i get the soft buttons of "dismiss" and "menu"
No actual message is displayed on the screen.
Now i flip to landscape mode, and i can see the top left hand corner of a pop up message - the rest dissapears off the screen.
So, what have i done so far to help myself ?
1) searched these forums for somebody having the same problem/question X
2) tried some registry tweaks for specifying what message should pop up X
3) renaming the notification manager.dll X
4) looking at all the notification *.png screen images in the /windows/
folder and confirming that they are correctly set for the QVGA screen size. X
5) tried downloading the notification manager.cab for the rhodium - elsewhere on the XDA site. - would not install
6) hard reset the phone.
I dont actually want the touchflo as i prefer the spb mobile shell. What options do i have ?
Do i need to just apply the correct registry tweaks and all will be well ?
Do i download a new notification manager from somewhere that will fix this?
Do i have to re-flash the phone ? ( least attractive option to me )
Can i somehow uninstall the notification manager and go back to a windows
default version ?
thanks, you_were_lucky
Notification Manager - pop up window size ?
So some developments since my post yesterday, I tried some registry tweaks to change the font sizes.
I notice that if i tap the title bar ( next to the wifi icon) i get the notification manager screen up - this has all the correctly sized and formatted .png images and functions correctly.
It is the pop up that appears due to a calendar reminder or a wireless network found etc. that is all wrong
When i go into landscape i can see the edge of this and even click on the wireless network found radio buttons etc.
So i figure that maybe the pop up window sizes are all wrong due to some mad font size someplace. I went into the registry and tried changing font sizes down from 800 to 12 and this did indeed change the size of most fonts kicking arround the place. Unfortunately it did not influence the size of the pop up box.
Any ideas people ?
thanks YWL
navigation bar
hello, my new phone just arrived.
i'd like to enable the navigation bar (software buttons) to give some rest to my thumb (less vertical movement).
I'd accept even an app if it's going to work like the original one, that is: to "dock" on the bottom of the screen, actually making the viewing screen smaller.
Yes, I'm ok to sacrifice screen space.
I tried few apps and they overlap the content of the screen, actually preventing me to see or tap on important parts.
Is there any non-root method? or any rooted method?
Any help is appreciated
in the end i decided to root and use the build.prop method.
Very nicely working, only minor problem found is with original camera app: the navbar doesn't hide and overlaps some controls.
I guess the problem to exists because samsung's apps don't care about the navbar, none of their phone have it.
I tried to first solve with tasker, but the plugin i bought (for the action was missing) didn't work. (refunded)
Then i searched for an xposed module, and found this "force immersive mode". Much better, but the controls are still cut in a half.

Has anyone had this problem of the status bar does not go down with the vertical mode screen on the Xperia Z3 compact? Only down after a long drag your finger on the screen, but the strange thing is that in landscape mode screen down normally. What can it be? Can someone help me?

i had the same problem with my xperia z3
Install "Service Menu" app from Store and do a touch display test, probably that's the issue
Anyone who cannot swipe down notifications or quick settings, due to a broken digitiser, can follow these instructions:
[emoji7]
Download 'All in one Gestures' app from the playstore.
Go to the 'SWIPE' tab.
Enable.
Under 'Edges' , select 'Top Area'.
Then via the apps settings, choose 'Personalization'.
Now under 'Swipe Area', go into 'Edge Preference.
Make 'Opacity' 0%
With 'Edge Sensitivity' start from 0% and keep moving the slide left until the swipe down works, mine is set at 90px.
'Edge Width' 100%
'Swipe Distance' 0%
Now under 'Touch Feedback' turn off both 'Toast Message' and 'Animation'.
Then turn down 'Vibration Intensity' to '0'
Done.
You now have the screen functioning as normal.

Thanks for this: I have successfully used the All in one Gestures app to get the quick-flick status bar pull-down to work on my Z3 Compact.
Googling indicates that this is a very common problem. Many people claim (eg on the Sony user support forums) to have fixed it by getting the digitizer changed. But if it can be fixed reliably by software then that suggests that it isn't a hardware fault. Other evidence against hardware being the culprit is that status bar pull-down works fine on the lockscreen without All in one Gestures being active, and that the Sony diagnostics for the screen indicate that it's working just fine. On the other hand, the fact that the status bar pull-down works fine in landscape mode suggests that it's not a simple software problem.
What I have noticed is that, when using All in one Gestures for status bar pull-down (in both portrait and landscape mode), the response is initially very slow - the status bar initially creeps down much more slowly than it does in landscape mode. Once down, though, it seems to work normally. I have observed the same behaviour using the Drop Down Status Bar app. This suggests to me that there might be something interfering with the Xperia Home app recognising or responding to the status bar pull-down gesture in portrait mode. Perhaps an app with "Draw over other apps" permission? Unfortunately I've no idea how that could be verified, or investigated further.
I have considered trying other versions of the Xperia Home app (my Z3C is running 10.2.A.2.80) or even joining Sony's Xperia Home beta testing program. But I'm a bit wary about mucking around with the Xperia Home app because every time I muck it up, it takes me ages to get it back the way I like it. I've run in to this at least twice in the last week while trying to troubleshoot the status bar pull-down, by accidentally deleting the default Google widget instead, which then seems to be impossible to restore without wiping data for Xperia Home and starting again from scratch (restoring Xperia Home data using Titanium Backup certainly doesn't do it).
UPDATE 2/5/18:
I've had to uninstall All in one Gestures. It was interfering with the stock camera app, pulling down the status bar when I tried to change camera modes or flash settings. It also seemed to make it completely impossible to use customised notification sounds.

I thought this was a software problem at first for the same reason, but the thing about lockscreen is that it slides down due to the downwards movement, it doesn't matter where. Even if you do a downwards motion at the bottom, the status bar will come down.

Sorry, I think you;re wrong about that: when I swipe downwards anywhere else on the lock screen, I get the prompt to enter my unlock pattern. Only if I swipe downwards from the very top of the screen does the status bar pull down. And that works every single time. So I still think it is a software problem.
As I said before, Sony's own hardware diagnostics app finds no problem with the digitizer, and if I use the DropDownStatusBar app then the status bar pulls down very slowly, which suggests the Xperia Home app is having some kind of trouble. Also, despite its other issues, the All in one Gestures app had no problem recognising a swipe down from the top of the screen. IMO the problem is somewhere in the Home app (I'd hypothesise some kind of timing problem that means that Home app takes so long to respond that, by the time it does, it doesn't know what it is supposed to be responding to, so it does nothing).
As a test, I experimented with the Simple Home app. The status bar pull down with that is just as good as on the lockscreen (and still nice and snappy, too).
Well, in the absence of an actual fix for what I still believe is a problem with the Xperia Home app, I decided to experiment with the XDA Navigation Gestures app. This is looking very promising, once I can get used to only having one soft button rather than three (which actually seems to be relatively easy to get the hang of). You have to cough up a whole $1 for the premium edition to get the notification shade pull-down function added to the gesture list, but it works very well (albeit still a bit sluggish, as with the other apps I've tried to get around the problem). I currently have it linked to the double-tap on the 'pill'. One highly useful thing about it is that you can always get at the pull-down, rather than having to go back to the home screen and hunt around for an app icon.
Same problem Z3 compact
Hi, i`m recently having same issue in my z3c screen (top right side).
In general isn´t a hardware problem is a software issue, for example when i enable glove mode screen works with some problem but the screen fully works.
I think maybe an app or settings made the "bug" begin bacause my phone for a long time works fine. In my case could be something with rooting
I havent try jet but flashing z3c with a new rom could work for a fix, im not thinking doing it by known but if the screen "bug" make glove mode stop working ill be force to flash a new rom and try. And i let you know.
Ill wait because i have a z3c marshmallow with root and cyberian camera and i dont wanna lose features.
