Some of these looks really nice. Thanks for sharing.
Is there a way to change the font? I guess through Substratum app.
Last time I used Substratum when I removed my themes it bricked my phone so I'm a little hesitant to try it again.

This started out as just a clean and tidy black status bar mod for my own personal use with Dwang's ROM v1.17.1. I wasn't happy with all the black themes out there so I made my own, then decided to get rid of all the gross default orange as well. I ended up putting a bit of effort into it so I thought I'd share it here.
It contains a new boot screen and transparent Eclair launcher tabs by me, as well as various edits of existing images from around the place. I've run everything possible through optipng to keep your phone speedy fast.
I used parts of DBeCe's negrodwang, AndroidFiend's Black Bar, Pay's Black Elegance, cybapaddy's Black Paddy, Ace42's Espresso, xxmonsterx's xxandroidx, bbuchacher's Super D Black and djengizz theme templates so many thanks to all those people for their work. Big appreciation also to Stericson for his MetaMorph app, Ohsaka for his colorChange.jar app, Danation for his thm/xml converter and xenio2000 for making sense of ninepatch (.9.png) files.
Let me know what you think!
BlackAndGreen.zip (1.22Mb) - v2 - http://www.mediafire.com/?fgjwaednmgg
This file is for the old version of MetaMorph which takes THM files. Here's a new XML file - http://jetsons.pastebin.com/8B98y4gH
You'll need Stericson's MetaMorph to apply this theme!
Changelog:
r2 - I'd accidentally left ticker text black. Fixed.
r1 - Initial release
Todo:
- Make the Search box outline green (textbox_search*.9.png)
- Make the orange status bars green (how?)
Modifications:
EternalSoil's gChrome Green Launcher - made to suit this theme
Also the wallpaper in the screenshots is by me. If you'd like it, here it is:
Looks good. Thanks!
Hi Jamie,
Quite glad to see that someone is still working on theming Dwang's - will give it a go, it looks preety cool! Thanks for sharing!
Installing the theme
Hey, how do you install the theme?
I changed the name of the zip file to update and tried to update the image, but it gave me the following error:
E: No signature (580 files)
E: Verification failed
Am I doing the right thing?

This is a Morph, not an update.zip. You need Stericson's Metamorph app as linked above. He's updated the paid version since I released this theme, so now the theme works with the free version.
Hey!
Love this morph! Went just fine on Dwang 1.17.1 and I wish more people did morphs for dwang.
Any chance you would be making other colors?
I decided I didn't like the standard looking launcher tab so I edited AndroidFiend's gChromeRed launcher to be green to go with this theme you made.
I have uploaded it for you to try. Just apply it with MetaMorph on top of the BlackAndGreen.
His red version is HERE
This is also my first time editing any morphs.
Of course the credit goes to AndroidFiend (who was helped by Djengizz)
All I did was change the color.
Thanks
I probably won't do other colors unless there's a massive demand for it. It's easy enough to do anyway, just time consuming. If anyone wants to have a go at it then by all means feel free to use the base I've made.
Cool work on your Launcher mod. I'll add it to the OP
I was going to try and edit it to make it a different color but the .png files are not in rgb, which makes it a long long process to change it from the green. I'm just using GIMP to edit it. Do you know of a quick way to change it?
EDIT:
Figured out it's actually pretty easy. So I'm in the process of changing a bunch.
If anyone's still interested in using this with the newer MetaMorph, I've converted the THM file to XML and chucked a pastebin link in the first post.
Hello forum,
I found Alex9090's post and from that post I took the sofkteys, and started changing their colors.
Note: I did not come up with the shape of the softkeys. I just re-colored the ones I found.
As of now, I have the xyboard softkeys in white, orange, green, and dark blue.
Feel free to post screenshots and what not. Or even your comments too.
For the white softkeys, I used the stock theme. For the orange softkeys, I used the "Holo Orange" theme. For the green softkeys, I used the "greenICS" theme. For the dark-blue softkeys, I used the Natemodz theme. I used these themes to show off my softkeys, but the rest of the ui was not created by me. Except for the softkeys portion, these themes were not made by me. And I was not the creator of the shape of the softkeys. I only recolored the ones that came from the Xyboard.
NOTE:
These softkeys definitely work on MDPI devices like most tablets. The Zipthemer zips put the softkeys in drawable-mdpi, so those zips are for mdpi devices ONLY! But the non Zipthemer zips should be able to be used in HDPI or XHDPI (not tested though).
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID! (especially when flashing)
"ics_softkeys_xyboard_[anything]" is NOT a flashable zip. It should be used in AOKP's Rom Control or the equivalent in other roms to change the softkeys.
"MMZT_softkeys_xyboard_[anything]" is NOT a flashable zip either. It should be used in Zipthemer or Metamorph(haven't tried Metamorph) to patch the needed files. Then the zip Zipthemer spits out is what you flash at your own risk in recovery.
One last thing... Don't forget to press thanks on my post, as well as Alex9090's post!
I've added some screenshots of my own.
MMZT_softkeys_xyboard_[anything] instructions:
1. Download the desired MetaMorph/Zipthemer theme and if you don't have it already, MetaMorph/Zipthemer from the play store. I personally haven't tried MetaMorph, but I know Zipthemer works.
2. Open Zipthemer and configure it for the Xoom (there are guides out there if you are confused) However, make sure that you set Zipthemer to make an undo-zip too.
3. Click "+Input" and navigate to the downloaded zip.
4. Click build it. Zipthemer will generate flashable zips, specifically made for your rom/configuration.
5. Zipthemer will by default place the new flashable zips at the root of the xoom's internal storage. If that isn't accessible to your recovery, place the new flashable zips in a place you can access in recovery.
6. Flash the *update.zip if you are applying the theme and reboot.
7. Enjoy!
***Note, if you created an undo zip and want to revert back to your old softkeys, flash the undo zip instead.
For people using theme chooser roms:
Note that the zipthemer method of changing softkeys will most likely not work with themes that theme the softkeys themselves. If you plan on using this softkey mods like "greenICS" (-great theme BTW), then you will have to use the softkey changer in the rom you are using to change the softkeys manually, and you will have to download the first zip instead.
Nice!. Thanks for these.

This thread will no longer be active and the same has been moved to another thread from official avatarrom team.

This is a beta release of Theme creator tool. It is a QT based desktop application to edit themes.
Themes created using this tool are compatible with Avatar ROM and Cyanogen ROM. Similarly you can edit both Avatar Themes and Cyanogen themes.
Download the theme apk and open it using the theme creator tool. You will see a screen to edit the resources. After editing the resources, save the apk and install on the device.
What you can do with this tool ?
1. There are 1000's of resources that can be themed in Android. We change only a small set of them and if you want to theme more resources you can use this tool.
2. We make some mistakes when creating a theme. Eg: SMS time stamp color was not proper in some of our themes. You can now use this tool to fix it.
3. We cannot satify all the users with a theme. Eg: If you want to have a darker orange shade in denim theme you can now do it using this tool.
4. You can import an existing theme, change some of the resources we modified and you have a brand new theme.
Upcoming features:
1. Import MiUi mtz theme file and convert it to theme apk which is compatible with AvatarROM and CyanogenROM.
2. Upload your new themes to our server so it can be used by other AvatarROM users.
3. Html5 based new theme creator tool which is more elegant and user friendly.
If you create a new theme and want to upload to our server, send us a PM and we will give access for you to upload the theme.

There are no theme apks with the tool. You can create a new theme from scratch.
If you would like to edit our existing themes, please find links to some of our themes at our website

caroot open themechooser on your avatarrom smartphone download any theme you want. It will be downloaded to your sdcard in 'Download' folder.
I'd like to play with the tool, so I changed an existing theme and tried to install it through the "Install->On Avatar Device" option. Unfortunately, I get a "install_parse_failed_inconsistent_certificates" error for the modified theme. I'm not familiar with the certificate thing yet (I just know, that the .apk are signed), so what can I do?
Please uninstall the original theme from the device and try to install it again from the tool.
Alternatively you can change the package name while saving the theme using the tool.
The error is due to the original theme having a different signature than the test signature used by the tool.

Thx for this quick answer!
That's what I actually did after some googleing (uninstall & reinstall), but wouldn't it be more userfriendly to let the tool do it (if possible)?

If it is a theme previously installed with the tool, it will automatically reinstall the same. But otherwise the tool won't uninstall the themes.
Does anyone know by chance, if the app drawer background of the bazooka launcher is an image? And if so, which one is it? Or is it just a matter of settings (which I didn't find yet)?
I already modified a theme and I'd like to have a (semi) transparent app drawer background...
How do I add more apps? I would like to theme Chrome etc.

I don't think the app drawer background is themable in Bazooka launcher. There is a setting "Transparent mode" (in Menu->Bazooka Settings->General) to make the background transparent.

We will definitely add more apps going forward.
But if you know the application package and the resources that needs to be themed,
you can add them to the tool by editing/adding some xml files in <path_where_tool_is_installed>/Packages folder.
For example to add chrome
Add a new entry in index.xml
Code:
<Application name="Chrome" AppPackage="com.android.chrome" AppXml="com_android_chrome"/>
Also needs to add a new xml com_android_chrome.xml in the same folder with contents
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<Application name="com_android_chrome">
<Page name="Drawables">
<item name="icon" type="drawable">
<BackendInfo ActivityName="icon"/>
</item>
<item name="app_icon" type="drawable">
<BackendInfo ActivityName="app_icon"/>
</item>
</Page>
</Application>
On next launch, the tool will show Chrome entry in the Applications menu and you can modify the icon images using the same

Anyone else getting the "It seems You have opened an invalid Theme." error on Windows? I'm running Windows 7 x64, I've tried running in compatibility mode up to windows xp, and running as admin, but no change. I've downloaded themes from within the tool, from the website, I can't even start from scratch. I'm not sure what else to do. I can't be the only one.

Its working for me in Windows x64. I am able to download theme and its opening. Can you attach the NTMLogs.txt present in "C:\Users\<your username>\.ATC"?
This theme is for use with ROMs that expose the RRO (layers) code. If you don't know what that means, this theme probably isn't for you.

You need to have a ROM with RRO / Layers support. If you have that, you just apply the zip with the layers manager app.

No point in downloading the theme if we already have the original one, if you don't specify what has changed.
