Hey guys,
I bought an used Mi Mix and can't get LTE te work, band 7 (2600) which is used by my provider and should be supported on the Mix. When i'm in the center of Amsterdam, where i always had LTE with my Redmi note 3, it stays on H+, never ever does it switch to LTE, even if i force it to (xposed module). I changed the tcp/ip to ipv4 in APN settings (and switched between ipv4/ipv6 etc between roaming and normal), notinh helps..
I've read that it is possible to "upgrade" the modem/baseband but I can't find where i read that and/or if it helps. Do you guys have any idea?
I'm at Epic Rom 7.11.2 with twrp and xposed.
Thanks in advance,
Don

Hey. All I learnt about my mix; it doesnt receive the LTE connection when other devices even POS ones get in the same area which sucks.. Welcome to the club.

Sorry to hijack the thread.
I am having the same problem too, it's on MIUI Gobal 9.1 Stable (NAHMIEI), please let me know what I could do to resolve my issue.
thanks
I fixed it.. I just completely wiped my phone, flashed the official global developer ROM. This fixed the LTE issue. I unlocked bootloader again and reflashed twrp and xiaomi.eu ROM and it's still working.

Need a new SIM mate, this my answer to everything. Can say it's probably ROM related or cernol
It's modem/baseband driver problem. A while back there were some issues with those. Updating or installing EU Tom doesn't update the modem drivers, an official fastboot flashed ROM does..
Some modem drivers (Indian phones I thought) don't support 4g for some reason, only 3g/HSDPA+. Either one can be solved by installing official ROM. Sadly you have to unlock bootloader again etc.

So which ROM do you recommend, the fastboot ROM I used previously caused the problems in the first place.
That was Oreo fastboot ROM

But you don't have to unlock bootloader again as long as you uncheck relocked bootloader, Twrp install again yes
I probably accidentally locked the bootloader..
I used the official ROM from miui . The fastboot developer China ROM I think. http://en.miui.com/download-317.html#460

Didn't work anyway, still can't receive calls with 4g enabled, wiped the lot, fastboot ROM with miflash. Must be my network has enabled volte and it's screwed my phone up
Ok, sucks.. I can use 4g but only in the big cities. Never had any problems with calling. Tried putting your SIM in slot 2?

Hello all,
As always, apologies in advanced if the solution ends up being simple, or that I've obviously overlooked something.
I have a Sprint HTC One. I live in Europe so I have rooted my device and also performed a SIM Unlock.
I was successful and the phone recognized my 3 Network SIM and works fine.
I have tried several different ROMs recently (Cyanogenmod, Carbon, Viper and Paranoid Android) and in each of them I cannot get the phone to switch networks away from SPRINT.
I switch the Network mode to GSM/WCDMA and double check in the phone info menu (*#*#4636#*#*). Reboot, and still no luck.
Oddly, I sometimes receive messages to my phone, but I cannot send any and there are no APN settings whatsoever.
It is necessary to be on stock to perform the SIM Unlock, so does that mean it will not work when I flash new roms?
Is there a setting in Paranoid Android (for example) that I am overlooking?
Thanks.

Are there custom ROMs for m7spr that could support GSM? Or is it completely non existent?
I have tried stock for several months and would rather not go back.

One of the threads mentioned that you need to be on 1.29 to use sim unlock.
It works for me in Bangalore, India so should definitely work for you as well...you might have to downgrade...
I'm on Viper 1.1.0.

By 1.29 are you referring to the Stock version?
I have successfully SIM unlocked, but all the ROMs tried simply do not pick up a signal.
I will try Viper 1.1.0, perhaps I used a known incompatible version beforehand.
Thanks for your reply.

I am still having trouble connecting.
Can I ask what you did when setting up, did the ROM automatically connect you to your network?

Do you get the message "Switch to global mode" when you rebooted your phone? You have to select Yes to that for the network to be detected.

No I don't, but I can switch to that mode under mobile settings and it still does not pick up a signal!

I was able to use the ViperBoy ROM to stay on GSM with the advent of 4.3 official release I am wondering if the newer ROMS based the Sprint release will cater to GSM w/data cause its quite a bother not benefiting from the other perks
I'm using the "Stock with Goodies" ROM successfully on Vodafone in Spain. The OP is mentioning all AOSP rom's that don't work with a SIM card. Any sense based ROM will work(such as Viper). The only AOSP type ROM that I managed to pick up any signal on was the GE Nocturnal ROM after flashing this zip, https://mega.co.nz/#!dgdmFQbb!ZXw8Q18FwMU0Xn_t3_Prp2dcd9Fn01pdR5s3Ha-_TaI . This GSM patch was very alpha, it had numerous telephony.db force closes and disconnects frequently. The DEV for GEnocturnal said he would try to make the next 4.3 based GE rom internationally compatible so that's our best hope for using stock Android as of yet.
There's a guy using the CM 10.2 rom I built in the android dev forum. I don't know how it's working but it's working for him. He has voice and h+ Data just the signal bars don't show the correct signal.

I just opened my T-Mobile S6 and updated to 5.1.1 G920T1UVU2COF9.
Do you have any idea on how to downgrade?
Root?
Flash ROMs?
are you on TMOBILE or METRO PCS? Just curious really - the stock rom you mentioned is the official release from METRO PCS G920T1 - back when the S6 was first released a number of people on TMO flashed the Metro PCS Stock rom to help simplify unlocking the SIM - so it should be compatible with either TMO or Metro PCS phones..
If that stock release is anything like the latest TMOBILE - yuo cannot go back to the previous version - but you might be able to root it using the odin flashable Uni-Kernel here - GOOD LUCK
they are clearly testing something @ T-Mobile, because someone else reported getting G920TUVU20F8
yours is 0F9

I am on COF9 because I needed to SIM unlock as well, and I'm rooted and use TWRP 2.8.7.1. Currently running XtreSoLite 2.2 but disappointed because I do not have WiFi Calling or VoLTE. I'm guessing it's because MetroPCS doesn't offer either. I'm currently trying to find a way to keep SIM unlock and have VoLTE and WiFi calling for when I swich back to my T-Mo SIM. Don't know anything about COFB and not sure there's any benefit to going through all the ridiculous hoops just to upgrade. Anyone else know?
I've got the ODIN for COF9, but it's massive.. like 3.6gb and not sure where to post. I spent probably 6 hours downloading from sammobile. It sucked.
No, I just changed it to model 920i.
Try a few things, but that T-Mobile I found no ROMS or anything, so I gave up on it.

I'm in Singapore and my carrier is Starhub. The apn settings are auto created and I double checked against other phone it is the same settings.
There is an issue with the latest update that causes the device not to connect to LTE. According to the official forum, it should be fixed in the next update, which is about a week away.
Edit: Some have suggested reflashing your ROM and doing a factory reset as well. Most of what I have seen points to the developer ROM. If you are using the developer ROM, then flashing back to the Chinese Stable and factory resetting the device should solve it. If you are using a vendor ROM, the same is recommended.
Just an update to anyone facing the same issue. This is a bug on the development rom and hence it affects all eu / custom rom that derive from there. Once flash onto the latest stable will resolve this issue.
So I was about to buy the phone but wanted to verify LTE bands first. The seller lists B17 support, but the Mi9 web page at Xiaomi's site does NOT list band 17 support. I find this strange, since the Mi8 does support B17 and the Mi Mix 3S supports B17. So Is there any real confirmation on whether the Mi 9 does or does not support this LTE band? Is the lack of it being listed at Xiaomi site just a type?

I'd definitely trust Xiaomi's official site more than anywhere else, if you check Xiaomi's official site for Spain (which sells the Global variant) it doesn't list band 17..
Flashing Global on a Chinese device or vice versa doesn't affect the bands as far as I'm aware, there's evidence of Xiaomi hardware locking the bands on the Pocophone, forum links below:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/help/poco-f1-lte-bands-unlock-t3835467

If you buy a Chinese Mi 9 then you should be able to flash the Global ROM, same as all previous Xiaomi's, however you have to keep the bootloader unlocked once flashed, trying to relock will result in a brick
These steps were for a MI Note, but may work with the MI 9:

I'm seeing some contrary information out there about what phone has what bands. Is there a code I can enter in dialer to see all available bands on my device? All I see is that I'm currently connected with B2 in *#*#4636#*#* and various apps I've picked up. I'm wanting to see exactly what's available in the device in my hand rather than specs on 4 different websites(with different values). The primary website I'm looking at is showing me I made a mistake with getting the 8/256 transparent china rather than the 12/256 but I'd really like to know for sure(especially since I'm currently not experiencing any problems with AT&T). It was easy with my W10M phone(##2382#) but I'm a bit lost with Android.
Unfortunately for me it didn't work. Like I said, 4G + appears on my phone screen, but the apps don't connect and I can't even use the browser because it says I'm not connected. Already tried to fix APN settings, checked if I had LTE on, but nothing worked. The internet only works if I have H+ on the screen. And now I have another problem: I downloaded my original parameters before switching to the modified ones, but now when resetting my original parameters and restarting, the phone remains without a network signal. The IMEI numbers are correct, the settings are ok, but I still have no network signal. Does anyone know how to fix this, or have the original .xqcn file to send me? Thanks.

The IMEI numbers are correct, the settings are ok, but I still have no network signal. Does anyone know how to fix this, or have the original .xqcn file to send me? Thanks.

Hi! 4G isnt working on my Mi9 with A1 network but they use the suported frequencies. I tried reseting APN and some other changes in developer options nothing worked. Any idea?
I'm gona try and flash the ROM when I unlock it from CN to global or EEA. which one should I chose if there is any big difference?

Which variant do you have? if it's the alita / explorer / transparent edition (8/256GB or 12/256GB) then there's NO BAND 20, which is LTE for many providers. Have you checked this?
EDIT: see here, perhaps you're in an area that doesn't use band 7 and only band 20? If this is the case... No ROM you flash can alter that, it's hardware related. ONLY global devices (64/128GB) support band 20

Do not relock bootloader after flashing rom, it will most likely brick your device. Flash another ROM if you like but you won't get band 20
May I ask, why do you want to relock bootloader after flashing a new ROM?
