I need help. Unlock My Max 64 GB, then I wanted to install TWRP and made brick. Install the world room and China and at the beginning the OEM was normal, then unlock my computer because when I installed the ROM it was blocked, and the OEM became gray again with no option to modify. Will there be a solution?
Or how can I root without doing TWRP?
You can't. And why wouldn't you use TWRP if you already want to root your phone?

If you have unlocked your bootloader, then i don't see the reason why TWRP flashing wouldn't be possible. Can you post me a screenshot of CMD when you are trying to flash TWRP, i want to see what error are you getting there.

I did not succeed

To unlock, you have to connect your phone to a windows computer.
have you downloaded this file : miflash_unlock-en-2.3.803.10 ?
have you installed this file : MiUsbDriver.exe ?
have you launched this file to unlock (and login with your xiaomi account) : miflash_unlock.exe ?
hope this will help you.
good luck.

Hi. The first time I unlocked my cell phone receiving confirmation from Xiaomi and I did it successfully. I installed the twrp also successfully and the minute it made brick my cell phone. Then I installed a China Rom and a global , both were stable. It showed me that it was blocked then I unlocked it with the same program that Xiaomi sent me to the mail through a link. after getting the unlock, towards the process of twrp administrator mode with all the drivers. the first times it came out that the installation of the twrp was successful, as it was shown in the CMD but it really was not successful. After a couple of days I went back and showed me a message saying that the .img image was not loaded. But the real problem I see is that the OEM is locked in gray with no option to change it, I think that's the reason. My phone says unlocked.

something seems to be wrong when you are flashing twrp, can you post used command ?
look at mine :
$ sudo fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-oxygen.img

I would think that the root method should be pretty much the same as the root method for the Huawei Mate 8... check out the XDA forum for it....
This still means that a TWRP needs created and tested.... maybe the Huawei Mate 8 one would work...
Of course this is at your own risk without flashable stock roms available

So as you're rooted, can you please extract build.prop from /system/ and upload it here.
Also can you please upload the output of following command using adb shell as root:
Code:
cat /proc/partitions
Furthermore, can you navigate to /dev/block/platform and search for the folder which has by-name folder inside it. Then upload the output of following command using adb shell:
ls -al /dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name
(A friend of mine has asked me to build TWRP for this device. Hence I need this information)

Ok thanks. Also manual flashing of TWRP is not allowed for me. Says no permission to flash partition.
Doesnt work on Mi Max 32 GB
The tool hangs everytime and even when it shows twrp installed it actually isnt
used the tool now my phone hangs
I managed to install TWRP with your phone and can access TWRP
However i can not boot the phone into normal operation now. It just shows the Mi startup logo and hangs.
I can go back into TWRP and i can also go into fastboot mode but not normal phone operation.
Any suggestions?

Top circle is a model for Mi 5X
Bottom circle is a model for Mi A1
Phone came with fake A1 ROM (tissot), unlocked bootloader
It was not receiving any OTA updates, so I tried to manually update it to official Mi A1 fastboot rom
Phone got bricked
I flashed (Tiffany) 5X official fastboot ROM rom from EDL (hard boot to edl by two point short method) - flashed both Stable and Developer version
Both ROMs do not boot into system, bootloops on mi logo, I can get to fastboot and mi's default chinese language recovery
The bootloader is locked - can't unlock it from system or fastboot with Xiaomi's unlock tool (it needs me to link the phone with my account through MIUI settings, which I cannot get to because it does not boot into system in the first place)
I have heard I can also flash the (Oxygen) (a fake Mi 5X) ROM on it, but it is dangerous because it may hard brick the device forever, not even EDL flash can revive it.
So I'm stuck, wtf, what do I do?
Sorry I cant help you there, where the hell did you purchase this from though and how much did you pay for it? I'm just curious

Hey, thanks for the link. I tried that a week ago. It gives me bootloop on mi logo. And it locks the bootloader as well. Also I have to flash it from EDL mode (by opening up the cover and using the two point short method to boot to EDL mode), from fastboot mode it cannot flash the modem.
is there a solution for this problem ? have you fixed your device mr udaan?
I have exactly the same problem and I still can't figure it out. I have also done exactly what you have already done but the same bootloop on mi logo. The last thing to try is to flash it with the oxygen 5x rom but I am a bit afraid.
Did you manage to do anything?

There are two main ways to flash files onto your phone: local and sideload. Most people are only familiar with local, but sideload is much quicker and easier if you are at a PC.
Sideload
Download the ZIP file(s) to your PC. In TWRP, select advanced and then sideload. Swipe the slider to begin, then on your PC run "adb sideload <filename>".
Local
Download and/or copy the ZIP file(s) to your phone. Note whether they are on internal storage (the default) or the sdcard. In TWRP, select install, find your file, and select it.

Thanks again bro
Well I went ahead and installed the rom and although the phone app is there, it refuses to make or receive calls with either AT&T or T-Mobile sim. Is this a hardware limitation of the device or just a missing library that will eventually be fixed? I may try the other rom tomorrow but I expect the results will be similar.
I'm not sure actually. I'm on puretalk and it won't call. But at last one other person outside the us had reported success.

So this might be an issue with my device, because I was having the same issue with Lineage OS yesterday and switched to AOKP to see if it resolved it. However I'm having an issue where no matter what I set the display timeout to it always turns the screen off at 15 seconds.

Device version MIUI Global 12.0.4 and using MI Unlock Tool versin 5.5.224.24.

where do you put it
Can anybody explain to me how to install the drivers I downloaded from the link provided in this thread?
I already installed the qualcomm drivers.
I downloaded the file and unzipped it. The thing is my phone is recognized as a mi 9t pro in device manager and the driver used is MTP USB device. Windows doesn't let me install the drivers I downloaded. Its says that the best driver for the device is already installed.
EDIT:
Tried the mi unlock tool again and now it recognized my device. Proceeded to click unlock and the phone immediately rebooted and was unlocked. No waiting period as I expected.
That was weird or am I missing something?
