Can't update my android, ERROR 7 - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
by trying to update my XT1068 via settings -> system -> about -> update manager with a later android version there occured an error and phone started in twrp. My bootloader is unlocked. My phone runs with android 6.0. The update version I used was Blur_Version.24.41.34.titan_retde.retdeall.en.DE. I've already tried to use other twrp versions as 2.8.6, 3.0.0 and the latest 3.1.1, same error. The error says:
"Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file '/cache/Blur_Version.24.41.34.titan_retde.retdeall.en.DE.zip'
Done processing zip file
MTP enabled"
What to do next? Thanks for helping

You should never try to update the stock rom while running a custom recovery..
You can try re-flashing the stock firmware from scratch using the easy installers

Wipe all my information and returns to OF3.
The phone is absolutely new, not rooted and has around 9.89 GB free space. Me Baseband version is: G900AUCU4BOF3
What could be the problem, and how to solve it?
Finally everything is OK, after a few days of trials and errors. I used Android ADB sideload with the same file (OF3toPA1) and the update installs without any problems. Now I am on Baseband version: G900AUCU4CPA1.

Can you please provide the installation instructions, I'm wanting to perform the same operation. I downloaded the OF3toPA1 zip file, but what do I need to do next? By the way PA1 doesn't require root right?

Check this link: http://www.livingandroid.info/install-custom-rom-adb-sideload/
You will need to install the Android SDK: http://www.livingandroid.info/install-android-sdk-adb-fastboot-tools/
Not needed root.
Same Problem
I'm having the problem that AT&T doesn't say there are any updates available (I'm on G900AUCU4BOF3), I can't find the G900A_OF3toPA1_OTA.zip file you mention.
Where can I get this file?
Thanks!
So, I just did the update from OF3 all the way to MM. the EASIEST way to do this is via ODIN because you need the new BL. I used the guide in the general section here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/galaxy-s5-android-version-6-0-1-t3419016
in 1st post, click show content for Stock Firmware, then click show content for Below PA1 or on PA5. follow the steps provided there. worked like a Charm first time for me. I was on rooted OF3.

Can't install TWRP

Hey!
I am not being able to install TWRP since I returned to my Rom stock.
My device is xt1064 (bought in florida)
Does anyone know any solution?
Methods I tried:
1)by doing it via fastboot: This message appears when I do it

2)Via android: I tried to root my phone and later install it via the official application. unfortunately I don't know any application to root in marshmallow, so I installed stock android kit kat, I rooted my phone and later installed twrp on the application.
the problem was that I was unable to flash things, or basicly I wasn't able to do anything with it because everything failed.
I installed marshmallow again, because twrp failed after I deleted everything.
Does Anyone know a solution?
I apologize for my bad grammar. I am 15 years old and I am from Argentina.
Greetings.

I think your model number is k50a40. Follow this guide for flash TWRP recovery.

I've installed the latest stable firmware by SP Flash (K50-T5_USR_ST1614_5.294.1_1604011150_mp1V2.39_CN) but now I was reading about that the Marshmallow roms need to be flashed with patched boot image for custom recoveries. I've just found S422_Patched_boot.img (I hope that file is all what I need). Could sb explain me how to do this?? The next move will be gapps/root and finally try to fix IMEI on my yellow but I am stuck...

I don't know flashing patched boot.img is required to flash custom recovery. I flashed custom recovery directly without flashing patched boot image and it working well.
OK I did it. If u have K30-T5 (MarshalRom 6.0) it will works. Instruction below.
1. Copie K50-T5_PATCHED_BOOT_1621_DEV.RAR file to your device
2 Flash TWRP 3.x via SP Flash
3. Enter to the installed Recovery Mode
4. Choose instal that file what I've wrote above
5. Swipe to confirm Flash
6. Reboot system
I want to fix my IMEI now. I'd like to use SN Writer but I don't know which file MD1DB, and APDB should I select on Marshmallow.

Just had emui 9.1 update but being asked to install again. And again...

I just installed the emui 9.1 update on my phone but after restarting I'm being notified of the update again. This happens around 5 minutes after restarting following the update being installed. When I install the update again, it "installs" in about 20 seconds before saying the update was successful and reboots. I have tried the installation 3 times now, but I have just set the installation to "later" so I dont get bothered by it again today.
Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?

All very well, but then I won't get notifications about future updates.
It didn't work anyway. I'm still being asked to install the update.
After a bit more investigation, it seems the original update may have been corrupted as I'm getting a message that system files or pre-installed software may have been altered or deleted and that the official update needs to be installed. Except it was the official update. Hisuite doesn't have the option to rollback the software to the previous version. So what can I do to put this right?

Yeah, but I didn't install any of those. I installed the official version through Hisuite.

Thanks but I just get "getting package info failed" when I try that.
Finally sorted. Connected to hisuite again and this time another firmware version (311) was available. So I installed that and when I rebooted there was another 4.7mb patch needed installed. I installed that and everything is back to normal now.
This happens when you install an incorrect firmware version on your phone. The firmware file names may be the same but they are not the same versions.
