I was just wondering. if its is possible for note 8 Camera Portait mode to work on note 5? is it possible to port the feature? or it uses hardware for that. Pixel 2 uses software fro portrait. Does anyone believe porting that is possible?

Hello! what i need to do if i have problem with camera? only change to another phone? maybe its software problem? can i change camera module from galaxy s6 to note 4 ?
Honestly, get a replacement. I went through 4 of them to finally get one that doesn't have the issue. As for the swapping the camera module with an S6 one, there's a guy doing that very thing right now. I don't remember what thread I saw it under but he has reported that auto focus does not work at all and has to be manually done. So you'll just be in the same boat plus you would have to mod the camera housing and solder a new ribbon connector as it's not long enough.

Didnt focusing, need to wait 30 seconds
Have you tried just hitting it? you can flick the hell out of the camera area to try and get the rollers unjammed if that's the issue. Here is what's inside there if you're curious whats causing the issues. That or your electromagnetic stage might not be working properly. Yeah I can't get S6 optics to focus yet, I'm going to manipulate an S6 ribbon cable and run it in a test setup just to see if my tinkering is what's messing up auto focus or if the module just will not work in the note 4 at all without software tweaks.

Hi,
Note 8 camera uses telephone lens by default in app mode, without allowing me to switch lens..
any one experienced same?
Thanks
Moyeen
What do you mean by "switching lens" ?
Hello! I noticed that a lot of modes from the previous S and Note phones are missing, such as:
Surround Shot
Virtual Shot
Sports Mode
Dual camera
Virtual Tour (old, but from S5)
etc...
What i am saying is, samsung is removing every single good mode and turning this camera app in a very simplistic and standard camera.
But, the old versions of camera stills exists...
I tried to install older versions of camera, anyway porting those older versions doesnt work, sometimes the phone just crashes, sometimes it starts vibrating crazy, just bad experiences.
Is there anyone who has knowledge enough to help me with is?
I just need to make the Note 8 camera app working nicely on Note 9.
Help _ I need the same thing
I have downloarded the apps, but theydon't show up on my camera. Samsung support has not had anyproductive suggestions . .

Oh damn. Rear Cam Selfie where are you?
Problem on my note 9 s pen when using my camera, remote control does not work everytime i use it, like taking selfie and changing the front to back camera view.
Any help would highly appreciated.
Thanks
Since our camera also has dual pixel, would it be possible to get a port of gcam with portrait mode working on everything? I believe the sensor is the same as the pixel 3's as well. (Sony imx 363)
