Hi,
Is it possible to root the P10 with Kingroot standalone? I'm satisfied with the phone but I would like to kill the shuttersound in instagram etc. and I guess rooting is my only option.
If you want to Root then follow the tutorials here to gain Root.. don't use apps like Kingroot ore other like that because they might be very harmfull to your device. I am saying that because I had a couple of phones messed up with kingroot and had to spend hours and hours to get them back working.
The best root option seems to be Magisk, but that's only for me. You can go for SuperSU , it's fine too.
Good luck !

So, I am using PIE from jcase and everything seems to go smoothly until I install XPosed.
Once I soft-reboot in the xposed installer, the device comes back to life but then after the screen is turned off for about 1 minute or more, I lose all root privileges. Funny thing is, any root checkers I run say that my phone still has root.
I really have no idea what could be causing this.
any ideas?
Why not ask in the PIE thread?

Already talked to him. He doesn't have any clue either..
I got my B/L unlocked today and have full time root. This is no longer needed.

Jcase posted he didn't want talk about Xposed, tethering, safestrap, etc... ( HERE ) in that thread... He wanted to keep it just about Pie itself.
Hi Guys, I know a lot of people here on xda cannot go on their daily lives without root on their phone, but there are these pain in the bottom applications that refuse to run when root is detected. my only means of hiding root back then was using an xposed module, may I know if someone else have an idea on how to hide root from apps? thanks in advance!~
SuperSU Pro has the option that works for some apps. Not sure if it is in the standard version.
Best solution is to boycott HBO.
root cloak still works with 5.1.1. you can find it here in the forums. get the latest alpha version and it should work.
i have a asus ME172v and i bought it used a few weeks ago. Apparently the guy rooted or tried to root with kingo root. even after a factory reset there is a super user app, but when you open it, says phone not rooted. How can i go about putting the factory firmware on the device and wiping all that crap off?
I used kingo root on my LG Spirit, and then used an app called 'supersume' to get rid of it and install SuperSU instead. You'll find it easily with a Google search, I hope it works for ya! ?
Ive been on here for about 4 hours and to no avail, I cant find the answer to my question. I have a Verizon HTC 10 rooted with SuperSU and TWRP. Im still on version 6.0.1 (MM) with the software 1.85.605.8. My question is, can I go about unrooting SuperSU without losing anything ( data, apps etc) and installing Magisk in its place?
I want to know what Im at risk of losing before I do a full unroot of SuperSU.
In the same boat
I did my first root yesterday on a Nexus 7 with Nexus Root Toolkit v2.1.9 which apparently uses Chainfire SuperSU. Now I find I really needed Magisk to deal with the app issues. I've seen a couple tutorials about switching but not clear if I will have to lose everything and start from scratch. Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated
This sounds like it really should be in the Magisk forums... There's info there (check the stickies).
Hi all,
I have Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite rooted and with great Luneage 17.1 onboard. I am very happy with this set and I don't need anything more at the moment that requires root. Some problems apeared using banking software and auth tools because of root. I dont need to mask or hide anything, I just want to unroot the phone leaving current software. In case i'll need it i can root it again. Reverting back to MIUI is not an option. So, the question is: how to unroot my phone?
- I found that sotware tool like Root Checker or SuperSU says that it's not rooted (WTF?)
- I cannot find any files in BIN or XBIN folders (crap, I love simple solutions)
Hope that you'll help me.
