I currently have the Note 5 - N920i model...
I was perusing through the T-Mobile Note 5 development thread and stumbled upon a user who successfully installed TekHD's ROM on their N920i.
I wanted to see if anyone else has tried it?
If so which model Note 5 are you using?
Also, how do you go about flashing a T-Mobile ROM for our international model?
I think they are on build COI5 for the N920T and we are currently on AOH6 for the N920I.
I would like to try it, I just don't want to accidentally brick or damage my phone in the process.
Only ROM we have now is Dr. Ketan's and it's excellent but it's the ONLY rom we have to try so far.
It seems T-Mobile has more development going on in their thread than we do in our international Note 5 thread.
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!!
I guess not... lol
I'm just curious which version of the note 5 (n920X) has the best modification capability. I'm asking this cuz before I bought a n900v, a Verizon note 3 and it had a lock bootloader and it didn't have many rooms to install. Which version of note 5 has the most rom compatibility I guess that's the question. I can buy n920 (s, l, k, p)and also n9200 (Hong kong) version. If I didn't mention any please also tell me also thank you
Hi, first of all hello everyone, so I'm from the UK, I have a note 5 N920T I understand it's (t-mobile) USA but it's unlocked no provider boot logo (I love that) however will I still receive the update as I'm in the UK? If not I see the latest one on sammobile which is the 6.0.1 but if I was to install that would be right in thinking my phone would still be unlocked? Also would it have the t-mobile logo cause I'd not like that??
Please help me please and thanks.

Hi, i am trying to see if it's possible to flash SM-N950U (ATT firmware) onto the TGY (Hong Kong dual sim) SM-N9500?
If the TGY is 64G RAM, then i am guessing everything is the same except dual sim internally, so should I just be able to flash the stock ROM?
How about if the TGY is 256G RAM? having different RAM size could be problem, I am guessing.
I don't know much about these except i can follow step-by-step instructions quite well.
Thanks in advance.

1. I'm not sure how you plan to do this - Odin won't let you flash other devices or even different variants of the same base model so you will need to use TWRP and a flashable ZIP
2. Not sure about the Snapdragon models but the Exynos models are all identical hardware - IE my Korean N950N still has 2 SIM slots even though it is not sold as a dual-SIM phone.
3. You mean storage, flash memory, not RAM. All the Note 8's have 6GB RAM. As for the question - it shouldn't matter. I've used N950F ROMs (which I believe are all 64gb capacity so far) on my 256gb N950N and I still had the full amount of storage available.
That's an excellent question. I have an unlocked SM-N950W with Telus firmware but I would like to flash it using Rogers firmware.
Does anyone know if this is possible via Odin?
this thread is interesting! that's a question i'm looking for too ! because my Note8 is 64GB , Model SM-N9500 and i'm looking to anybody help to flash to SM-N95xx in USA
I am looking to know if that's possible too. I am planning to purchase a N9500 model and wanted to know if I can flash any other country's firmware on it without tripping knox or routing. My reason is to be able to use samsung pay in my country.
Also, what is the reason for other people here trying to flash different firmware?
Was anyone ever able to get it done? I have a n9500 Hong Kong version, dual sim, 256gb and i’d like to flash it to be able to get everything running on it like Wi-Fi calling and other features. Got this version because I’d like to have the dual sim for traveling and the 256gb for lots of storage. I’m originally on AT&T.

Odin won't let you flash firmware for another model, but if you root you can flash ROMs for identical hardware (IE on the Exynos versions the 950N Korean models can run 950F-based flashable zip ROMs just fine because both 950N and 950F are identical hardware).
The main thing as far as features go would be band support on the modem, as I understand that the N9500 and N950U are both Snapdragon models I would assume you guys can run 950U-based ROMs, but I have no idea about the 9500's LTE bands support in relation to AT&T (I'm on T-Mobile so they are the only USA carrier I was concerned with when I opted for the N950N).

Can I update the firmware of N950F into SM-N950U?
If it matters I've been flashing crazy this past few week due to OEM issue, AFAIK as long as you flash the correct HOME_CSC,CP for your variant everything else should work as intended (exynos firmware=exynos firmware ONLY). I got a N950X but rockin with a N950F firmware (BRA8/BTU) since I got my phone original from UK.
AP: is your system partition with recovery and stuff.
BL: your bootloader
CP: your modem
CSC: this is what features you get in some countries or carriers like Wi-Fi Calling.

I'm using Note 8 hongkong n9500 128gb dual sim version. The android Oreo 8.0 final leak build (March 4, 2018) is for the n950u1 which I wanted to flash onto my note 8 hk model. Has someone flashed n950u1 to n9500? And if possible kindly show the steps to do so thank you.

I'm basically asking the same question here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/help/flash-sm-n950u-to-sm-n9500-t3772085
Just flash system partition it will boot at least when I flashed n9500 on my n950u
I wouldn't recommend it as the modem drivers maybe different. As Carrier branded devices may have their own specific modem install rather than the one found on other variants.

Prince Comsy ODIN?
Is it possible the other way? I mean is it possible to flash n9500 rom on n950u unlocked? I need the dual sim function and my device is n950u.
Hi guys
Just a quick one, I'm trading in my Note 8 against new Note 9 with Samsung.
The phone is absolutely pristine, the only thing that's worrying me a little is that it was originally a Taiwan import SM-N950F/DS on BRI CSC and I flashed it onto the official O2UK firmware so I could get voLTE and voWIFI.
I have now flashed the phone back to the latest version of its original International firmware after removing my Samsung and Google accounts etc etc etc.
Samsung state in their T's & C's for trade in that the device must not have had it's firmware modified. Does flashing official Samsung firmware count as modifying it?
Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been answered previously, I did a quick search but couldn't find anything specifically answering this - I know it won't trip KNOX but am wondering if Sammy will count flashing official firmware as a firmware modification?

The filmware was from Samsung, you have nothing to worry about.
It's only if you have EVER rooted it or flashed a custom recovery, which trips Samsung Knox. Flashing stock filmware on a previously rooted phone will not fix Knox, that's a motherboard replacement.
Nice one, thank you! Just hoping they don't try to screw me over as the phone is in absolutely perfect condition!
UPDATE: Samsung have honoured my exchange and I got the full value for the phone ?
Congrats!!
