I've seen many here report this command to try/flash a different baseband:
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
I could be wrong but since of my experiences, this is not correct and could lead to various different issues, mainly with GPS fix...
Right command sequence to be used (and in fact, contained in official flash all(s)...) is:
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
This is just FYI...
Can some post baseband from EU dualsim?

I have currently got a moto x from o2 (UK) with the o2 branded rom, and would like to change this to the UK retail rom version.
I have read through various posts and how to's, and it looks like I should be okay in doing this, as they are both 4.4.2, just looking for confirmation that this will work okay.
I have found a script that I think covers all the steps I need to complete the change
Code:
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash partition gpt.bin
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash motoboot motoboot.img
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash logo logo.bin
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash boot boot.img
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash recovery recovery.img
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash system system.img
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
./moto-fastboot-osx64 erase modemst1
./moto-fastboot-osx64 erase modemst2
./moto-fastboot-osx64 flash fsg fsg.mbn
./moto-fastboot-osx64 erase cache
./moto-fastboot-osx64 erase userdata
./moto-fastboot-osx64 erase customize
./moto-fastboot-osx64 erase clogo
./moto-fastboot-osx64 oem fb_mode_clear
Does this look about right, and is there anything I have missed or should know before I try, as I do not want to end up with an expensive brick
Thanks in advance

OK, first, questions belong in Q&A section -- please post to the correct forums. Please read the 2nd sticky thread at the top of the General Sub-forum.
Second, the last command "fastboot oem fb_mode_clear" should only be used if your very first command is "fastboot oem fb_mode_set"
Other than that, your information seems correct. I personally do NOT recommend flashing another carrier's ROM to your device, simply because others HAVE bricked doing this.
You'll probably be OK since you're just flashing the Retail ROM over a branded ROM of the same model, but STILL, if you do this, you are doing it ---completely at your own risk----.
Don't blame me or anyone else if you do brick. People have done this, and most successfully....but I won't personally recommend something that has even a slight risk of brick.
Good Luck
I also have a o2 moto x and I've switched to the retail GB firmware using RDS LITE. No problem working perfectly

Let's say you've accidentally hosed your modem by deleting the modemst files. How would I go about fixing that? I figured I could just download the stock sprint radio for the moto x (gen 1), but I can't seem to find such a thing. I tried flashing this radio:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/radio-msm8960probp232-55-52-00r-t2824925
But that doesn't seem to be the right radio for sprint.
I tried doing a full wipe and re-flash of the newest cm12 ghost nightly, but if it contains the radio files, it didn't fix the problem of the phone not connecting to cell networks.
Basically i'm looking for the stock modem files so I can recover doing something like this:
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot reboot
flashing cm11 then cm12 somehow fixed this.

You wont see them until after they have pushed officially.
And then, any Developer XT1053 or XT1060 images will get posted to Moto's web site -> https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
In case you don't wanna use RSD Lite/You own a Mac:
MANUAL FLASHING
Much easier AND don't have to deal with getting RSD Lite to work....
Note - this was done on VZW variant, and based on XML file of that particular firmware. Get these instructions from your firmware package XML file.
Note 2 - VERY IMPORTANT!!! - You MUST use mfastboot (Moto fastboot) for the system.img flash as its too large for standard Android fastboot to handle, your flash WILL fail if you use standard fastboot. Hence why it says "mfastboot" this is not a typo.
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize
fastboot erase clogo
fastboot oem config carrier vzw
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
Note: this is all done using fastboot/mfastboot/adb manually on your command prompt/terminal.
Good luck.
Hi, can anyone tell me how to update the modem to the latest version?
I'm on pure edition 1095 unlocked, twrp, custom 511 rom. I've searched all over and cannot find a clear guide on how to do it.
Thank you in advance!

Download the full firmware of the 5.1 Pure edition then extract the files
NON-HLOS.bin and FSH.mbn the go to fast boot and type:
mfastboot erase modemst1 mfastboot erase modemst2 mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn mfastboot reboot
Done. You have the last modem of the 5.1 pure edition.
Now you've confused me because I found different code and steps on moto website and xda
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn

Is the same just different order. The erase command don't erase the NON-HLOS.bin but the stats and configuration or the modem.
Flashing before of after the new modem over the old makes no difference unless you don't erase modemst1 and st2.
mfastboot is the "same" fast boot just a command special designed to Motorola devices.
I followed the instructions and got unknown baseband and blank imei. I restored the efs from backup and got the imei back, the baseband version is newer. I thought the efs restore would change it back to the original?

ok, maybe is because the 5.1.1 custom you are using is not compatible with the modem you are trying to flash. And it is "normal" if you lose signal and IMEI after, that happened to me when I flashed the 5.0 modem over a 4.4.4, the solution is simple, just flash back your original modem and your IMEI/baseband will be restored.
Attempted to root & install TWRP, went to revert to stock, through about 6 different ROM variants for this phone, none of which have restored either the imei or baseband, some help/ insight would be amazing right about now
Did you ever figure this out, if not i can help you, i have had to restore both of them about 50 times, and i have an automated way of doing it, at this point. hit me up if you still need help.
for those having this problem, this is only for the MetroPCS variant xt1921-3 James model, flash back to stock build JAMES_T_OCP27.91-150-5-1_cid21_subsidy-MPCS_RSU_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC from the bootloader using these commands -
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot erase DDR
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
fastboot reboot
- after you flash and reboot, it will boot up normally, setup up a wifi connection on it and it will tell you there is a new security update. Let it download and install the update, once finished, it will boot up and your baseband and IMEI will be working again.
What did you do to mess those up? I just got this phone, used to love doing this stuff, but it's become such a pain in the a$$ to just use a device I paid for like I want. I don't want that kind of problem. On a Samsung, that problem woud occur if your baseband and modem didn't match properly and the fix was to reflash the correct ones. Might not help you in this case tho.
