Hi All,
I replaced a broken display on my hauwei p9 eva-l19, but now the microphone is not working! :crying:
I tested a little bit and it works only if I try to register something (native app or whatsapp) or if I use the speakerphone, but during any call (whatapp, normal) it does not works.
Could it be a software issue?
Have you any experience about this? Do you know if is possible and how to debug a little bit my phone?
Thanks you.
Same problem here!
Hi,
I have the same problem after screen replace, but I have also tried to replaced the mic/USB-C daughterboard and the problem still persist´s.
The next thing to do is to change the flex cable between daughterboard and the motherboard.
Anyone else have had similar problems?
Did you find a solution? I have the same problem. Was it the flex cable?
I'm in the same boat, after screen replacement the mic is still working but barely operational. I was about to replace the board with the mic as well. Did anyone tried with a new flex cable after all?

Hi guys. I recently broke my screen on my one and i order a replacement for it. I decided to do the repair myself and everything went well but when I powered on the phone after i had replaced the screen i noticed that the camera, the upper speaker and the headphone jack weren't working. They are all related to the sister board but i can't find what i have done wrong. I have already checked the connections and i flashed a new rom just in case it was a software problem. Can anyone help me with this? Is there a connector that connects all these things to the mother board?

I have already watched these and everything seems to be in place. What is weird is that the vibrator which is a component of the sister board is working fine. I' m trying to figure out which cable connects the parts that are not working to the motherboard.

Dears,
Suddenly mu microphone stopped and the other person cannot hear me. I don' t know what happened but there is no problem with handsfree. I can record my voice but the volume is low... Strange thing.
I made hard reset at rr rom. Not help.
I change the rom to stock+. Not help.
I reflash rr rom. Not help.
Could you help me? Why thats happened? Is there any solution to fix it?
I think that motorola service is the only solution... ?
I know it may sound stupid, but have you checked for dust, lint or water in the mic hole?

Yes i checked it many times. Yesterday it worked fine for one call and after this call the problem was there again. I don't know if it is software problem or hardware. Now i am running 5.7.3 rr rom unofficial and the first time that i found this problem, but only for one call, was at 5.7.1 rr.
But the problem remains after a clean install of stock+ rom. Now i am at vacations and i have not my laptop here. Next week i will flash the original, stock 6.0 firmware to see if the problem remains. And if yes, motorola service center is the only solution...:crying:
Well before sending it to service I would put my hopes in the "real" stock ROM. After all "stock+" is still a tampered one.
Enjoy your holidays in the meantime
Original stock rom didn't solve my problem and the issue with microphone remains. Everything else worked perfect, speakers, bluetooth, handsfree, so i believe that it's a hardware problem.
Yesterday i sent my phone at Motorola Service Center so i have to wait about 3 or 4 business days to learn which is the problem. I will post everything new.
Motorola service center changed the old microphone with a new one and my phone now works like a charm! It was a hardware problem caused by no reason...
Having same issue

Does Motorola Service replaced the top microphone (Above camera)? or Replaced the bottom one just above the micro usb plug on back side?
I am facing the same issue and Motorola Service told me that the bottom microphone is mounted(fixed) on motherboard. So it will cost 6500INR approx. So I am not sure that it needs to replace the top one or bottom one?
Any advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

No, they replaced the main microphone which it was on the mainboard. And i am sure that it was not mounted on the mainboard. The other two microphones you described was perfect and till now work like a charm. I will put a photo with the replacement parts to see the microphone changed.
Hi there,
my m7 had the pink camera issue for which the phone was opened and the daughter board was changed.
the phone was put back together and was closed with a new back cover.
now after turning the phone on the primary mic has stopped working (the secondary works though).
i've also bought and replaced the mic + usb flex cable today, thinking that the flex might have been damaged, but it didnt seem to work... The usb port and the bottom speaker work properly, the issue is only with the microphone.
(note: the usb port did work properly even before replacing the cable)
Also, could it be a ROM problem? i'm currently on viperone rom but the problem existed even when i was on stock lollipop.
would highly appreciate it if someone could get me out of this mess.
thanks
Do you have a soundmod installed? Check your build.prop for persist.audio.fluence.voicerec. It should be set to false.
I really like my P30 Pro but this last week callers have been complaining they can't hear me all of the call. It seems to be this happens for the first 10-15 seconds of the call and then sporadically throughout the call. I have searched the internet and found that the bottom microphone is not working. The reason that sometimes the caller can hear me is that there is an upper microphone which kicks in sometimes. One solution is to use the loudspeaker option - which appears to use the upper microphone all of the time. Apparently using WhatsApp for calls works too. I was wondering if there is a phone caller app which would utilise the upper microphone all of the time (unlike the default Huawei one). I suspect not, but I think it was worth asking. I have read of people having the same issue and replacing the lower microphone/SIM card unit but it still not working. One person who replaced the microphone (which still didn't work) suggested it might be "the analog to digital converter of the microphone signal" which could be at fault.
EDIT : Just to say the phone is still under warranty but I have a quite badly cracked back on the phone (front is fine) so I guess that may invalidate the warranty. The back has been cracked for quite some time though and the microphone issue is only recent
Same happened to me, changed the sim/mic board and its working again

Thanks.. I bought a SIm/Mic board and a USB ribbon/connector. I couldn't fit the sim/Mic board as I couldn't get the connector from the phone onto it so put the old one back (the board wasn't OEM and I don't think the quality was there). I replaced the USB ribbon/connector and the microphone worked. However, the USB connection wasn't great and fast charging only worked with the USB the one way around. I replaced it with a refurbed original ribbon and all is fine. I wonder if just refixing the SIM board and USB cable would have sorted the microphone too a) why would me replacing one part and you replacing a different part sort the same issue? b) I have seen a post from someone who sorted it by applying pressure around the edges of the phone and the SIM area.
I've also started getting this problem. The other party can't hear me on phone calls for the first ten seconds, and when they finally hear me it's very poor quality. Google hotword recognition also isn't working. I'd only seen people saying they'd replaced the sim/mic board and it hadn't helped, but perhaps they didn't change the connector? Good shout, I'm going to try a refurbed cable.
Having issues with the lower microphone that's been listed all over the net, ie delay in hearing me when answering calls and google assistant not hearing me.
Two lower sim/memory/microphone boards later still didn't fix it. For me swapping out the USB ribbon connector has cured it. Just in case this helps someone.

Hi, I replaced the small board as shown twice, but it was the usb lead also shown that ended up fixing it. I'd start with that. Good luck
Hi! I've got the same issue for some time ago... just purchased a new microphone PCB and replaced with no success. Diagnostics on the phone launched a NON WORKING message
Then just surfing the internet I found this forum where I'll share results once I replace the USB charging (and more) flex.
Cross fingers!!
UPDATE!!
** PROBLEM SOVED**
After replacing the charging flex, the microphone is working FINE .
Selfdoagnostics PASSED succesfully for the microphone testing.
▶ I can not realise about what's the hardward problem but it's true it works.
These are cheap pieces, and taking into account I'm in love with this LAST-Google Serviced Huawei P30 Pro... I really believe it will last at least 2 or 3 years more in my hands!!

Glad you found a solution. I warrantied my phone 9months ago because of the microphone issue. Now it is malfunctioning again unfortunately. The p30 pro has everything i need, still full day of battery. Out of warranty now and prepared to try to repair it by myself. Trying to find how thick tesa tape i need to put it back together, which tape did you use? Do i need Best B7000 glue aswell? Havent taken a phone apart the last couple of years so I need som basic guidance regarding glue and tape.
Best regards
