Install Substratum, from there you can change the icons and the way it looks. Use "status bar icons".
Hope it helps

Just follow the instructions, and you can customize your colors. Enjoy the Cyanogen build, I just flashed RC2, and it's great. I just don't like vanilla themes. Cyanogen knows most people want black status bar, and notification pulldown.

You can change colors to what ever you like, just the status bar and pulldown are black, so you have to change the colors anyway because default text is black.
How hard is it to change these?
If I wanted to pull the flat menu bar (espresso style) from safari or wildflower, where should I be looking?
No-one?

Not even sure what your talking about here :/
Perhaps explain a little more?
Are you talking about the status bar background?
Hi all.
How do I change the black to white easily? Because I prefer the white to go with my notification shade
Any help?
No 'easy' way besides xposed module called 'tinted status bar'

I know that. But I don't to change all applications to white. That's way to much Tim wasting (About 100 apps)
Other way would be to try edit nav bar color, it's most likely located in SystemUI.apk. It's the other easy way.
Is there a good app that will let me change the status bar icons and clock location that does not require root. I have tried a few on Google Play but none seem to do what I want them to.
Thanks.
Maybe try configuring something with Zooper or UCCW widget? You can use a launcher (I use Nova pro) to hide the actual status bar then use a widget in place of it, this way you can design it the way you want.

Not without root, sorry. streebs87's work around might do something for you, but you're not going to be able to configure the actual status bar at all without some sort of root tool.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks.
"Color Status Bar" app will mod the quick buttons, clock location & style without root.
Edit @twillet50
8bit status bar well worth the price too.

That does part of what I want. Thanks for the tip!!
Also check out an app called Power Toggles. I love it. You can put customizable toggles in your notification drop down. Here's a screenshot from my phone:
Edit: whoops! Misread your post. Not what you were asking.
I just upgraded to 5.1.1 on my C6943 using stock rom, rooted and with TWRP. Lollipop have this function of changing the statusbar color according to the app. I want to remove this and leave the statusbar always black, but I can't find a way to do this.
Already tried a lot of Xposed modules, but none did the job. Does anyone knows how I can do that?
Maybe changing something directly in SystemUI.apk?
I'm pretty sure this is possible using perfectcolorbar xposed module. Have you tried that?
Downloaded it. I see options to change the behavior of the statusbar color, but where do I change its color? I just want it black all the time...

There are many options in perfect color bar, I think you just have to find the correct.
But maybe gravity box for Lollipop will help. It has an option to set a status bar color to.
You should give it a try.
I just can't find an option to do that. Gravitybox only let you color the icons, not the statusbar background.
Also tried lolistat and flat style modules.
