I was looking at XperiCheck for the X Performance and noticed a new FTF category released by Sony: Generic GLOBAL. Has anyone installed this build on their phone? I'm wondering if it's an unmodified image that Sony will update in the future. If so, I would love to flash this on to my phone. If anyone flashes this on the X Performance, let us know any differences you notice!

Does anyone know where I can find this ROM? I want to extract the T-Mo WiFi calling system from it, to put on an Xperia ZR. Or has this already been done?
I've tried searching but neither of these devices are heavily supported by the developer community here.
Thanks!
I'm new to the Sony ecosystem. I'm kinda confused on how firmwares are pushed out to devices. For example the new .769 firmware just got released and the log says it's supposed to be for Asian lte z1 but u haven't received it all while others have said it's already on their device. Same thing about the . 761 firmware too, I thought it would be available for Asian z1 also

hi are you sure its been released 769 that is, cause i havent seen anything on any fourms saying that ,but i might be wrong lol ,can you confirm this, regards joe
Sony split their phone models into groups based on hardware (like 3G, LTE, etc), and regions (like asian, europe,etc.). These are usually because the firmware has to be modified to work on each device (in case of hardware) or certain softwares which are very essential in certain regions maybe completely useless in other regions. So, each firmware varies from one another in these aspects. These firmware have different versions (like .757, .761, .769 as you said). All Xperia Z1 phones in the world which are active will be able to update to .757 firmware because it has Android Version Update which will be available for all models of a particular phone. While .761, .769 are bug fix updates which fix the bugs present in .757 . These bugs are usually occur when the base firmware is modified to work on other models of the phone. So, the models which has these bugs only will get this update, other models in which the Operating System runs without any problem will not get these updates.
Since you have not got any updates your phone should not have any bugs that are fixed in .761, .769 firmwares but sometimes the update just doesn't show up on the Update Center. So, better connect your phone to SUS to confirm that there is no new update for your phone.
Hope it helped.
Can someone tell me wich contry this is? I am guessing Brasil. I bought this phone from a retail in Romania. Thanks.
By the way, my build number is kxb21.85-14, i saw a new update here on xda, but when i click on system updates it tells me that my phone is running latest software version.
It's generic EU (reteu = retail EU afaik), as for the update it was pulled as some problems were found (don't know what mine seems fine) so you are on the latest at the moment.
Hi
I bought this beautiful device from UK.
I noticed that pie is already available in some countries.
When should I expect it to come to my device?
Is it possible to change country so that to receive it?
Good day.
The only way i know for you to have PIE earlier it to flash the ROM manually through Flashtool.
My phone was bought on amazon UK and i flashed the German version of PIE.
You will lose all data if you don't backup first.
Hope it helps.
Hello everyone! I have such a question here. Which custom firmware is best to install on my XZ1 Compact Docomo version? (SO-02K) Which one works the most stable? I chose custom firmware, because I will not be able to flash my SO-02K on G8841 firmware.
Been wondering that myself recently, it seems HavocOS is the way to go. Here a user described flashing it on his SO-02K.
Haven't attempted it yet but that's my goal don't see much of a point spending some $30 unlocking my model's hardlocked bootloader, so provisionally settled for manual debloating with a yucky but functional ADB AppControl. Who knows, maybe a free un(hard)locking solution will become available soon or a compatible Android 12 ROM will get a release and then I might cave.
