As the new Razer phone launched I got really jealous that I can't buy it. I know that our phone's screen is 60 Hz. But how can we use the phone in 60 fps? I think the system ui is capped on 30 fps or something
the smoothest xperience ( ) i got, was from a magisk mod called Kitana

I havent had an urge to root, but i took a video recently and while the picture was decent, it really didnt do motion well, it was blurry enough i dont think id use it. I know that there is 720p available if i root, but what is the story on fps? what is it stock and what is it rooted? rooted i could get 480/30fps or 720/20fps correct? and is stock 30fps? anything less seems like nexus owners would have been ripped off. is this true and if so is there a chance the 720 fps could go up in the future? basically i want to root but the only change i want is better video quality--is it possible?
Your numbers are correct. The original settings are 24fps, I don't see that as a ripoff.
Stock is only 20 fps I believe. So yes you would see a nice improvement in smooth video. All my Nokia phones did 30 fps and looks much smoother than 20 fps in my opinion.
According to this:
http://hispeedcams.com/lenovo-zuk-z2-pro-will-have-960fps-video-confirmed/
ZUK Z2 Pro should be capable of recording video at 960 FPS.
It is probably achieved through interpolation or something, or not at all (see Mediatek and their "[email protected] FPS").
Anyway, when you guys get hands on ZUK Z2 Pro, share your impressions and what the camera is really capable of.

Yeah it is on official site, there is 960 fps but unfortunately resolution is not mentioned.
Something is written in chinese forum that 960fps is not supported yet because there is no ZUI 2.0 yet.
So we will have to wait a little for a review.
hello everybody, as a student very intersted i made a little calcul. The snapdragon 820 is able to encode 4k video at 30fps, ie 8.29 Mega pixel at 30fps. So the sd 820 encode 248 Mpixels per seconds. So at 960fps, it means that you get about an image of 0.25 Mpixel,which is roughly a 480*640 pic. Not bad. However if some Mediatek CPU encode at 1080p 480 fps, and if the sd820 is considered better, then he can encode more than 2.09*480 Mpixel per seconds, which match 720p at 960fps. hoping for some other resolution/fps solutions from ZUI 2.0. But if there is no breaktrough for the camera then 960fps is impossible to reach( this far this speed is only achieved by pro cameras which cost thousands), meaning it's a false rumor launch by zuk for marketing aims. Wait for the reviews is my last advice. tchao
SD 801 was capable of [email protected] FPS already (h264).
SD820 is capable of 28 MPx/s (4K is 8MPx) , so theoretically, it is capable of much more than just what you mentioned. [email protected] FPS is only HEVC bottleneck.
https://www.qualcomm.com/media/documents/files/snapdragon-820-processor-product-brief.pdf
MTK claimed their SoC is capable of [email protected] with the use of a Sony's sensor which didn't even have that capability in it's datasheet.
And honestly, it's been a long time since they announced that and have you seen it ever come true?
The only mobile camera sensor capable of very high FPS up to this moment was Toshiba's T4K82 with [email protected] FPS, [email protected] fps and [email protected]
http://www.androidauthority.com/toshiba-240fps-t4k82-sensor-596203/&ved=0ahUKEwjDx_zy4f3MAhUFORQKHXP1BisQFggcMAA&usg=AFQjCNHi7pL_vdS6wb7F9fnUwtST4ip4IA&sig2=nTEBpX31ZuZS2WzWgj5VAQ
But it never appeared in a phone (or any device really), guess it was not as good as they claimed it to be...
OmniVision's OV13870 is capable of up to [email protected] through cropping and binning. However I have a feeling that they are actually the only one to be honest and admit it is not REAL 1080p. Because every slow-motion recorded with a phone I saw was like of a lower resolution then the file captained to be of. (720p looked like 360p, etc)
In my opinion, 960 FPS video recording is not possible with the mobile camera sensors which are currently at the market... Besides, iPhone always seems to come first with better slow-motion (they introduced 240FPS with a Sony sensor and nobody was able to compete woth that for more than half a year). They haven't even introduced 480FPS yet and somebody claims to have achieved 960 fps? I consoder that highly unlikely.
That is why I am looking for what comes out of ZUK Z2... If it really is a 'scam', then I say that they (ZUK and Lenovo) need to be punished...
Even if they come up with something ugly like frame interpolation.
First samples regarding the slow-motion video recording:
http://www.gizchina.com/2016/06/08/weekend-zuk-z2-pro/
So now it is confirmed - it does not record at 960 FPS. It does not even record at 240 FPS.
It records at only 120 FPS ! 720p is the resolution.. but honestly, it does not even look like 720p... more like 576p.
And the player allows you to set the playback speed... so for 960 FPS they basically play one frame 8 times....
Pretty disappointing...
Hi good morning. I have a note 5. This phone is great and i really like it. But i cant play games smoothly. In arena of valor i have lags and low fps. Does anyone knows that change the game's settings? I just really need 60 fps for that game. (I used fps cao and gfxtools but i didnt really like them) Thanks.
(Im using note fe rom)
Before buying the Rog phone 2, I would like to know if modding fortnite to run at 120fps is possible on this phone. I know some people have been able to access and change the cfg file by using magisk and a root explorer to make the game run at 60fps on unsupported devices, but I have never seen anyone try 120fps on android at all.
All I know is that the cfg file is located at(root):
/data/data/com.epicgames.fortnite/files/UE4Game/FortniteGame/FortniteGame/Saved/Config/Android/GameUserSettings.ini
And that you have to change these strings:
MobileFPSMode=Mode_120Fps
bUseVSync=false
UnlockConsoleFPS=True
FrameRateLimit=120.000000
I currently don't have a 120hz phone atm nor do I have a rooted device to try it out myself. If any of you decide to try this out, please leave a comment below so that I can see if it works at all.
Fortnite 120fps support comes from Epic Games, not Asus. There's no way of "modding" the game. The support will have to come from Epic Games.
Also remember that at the moment Fortnite doesn't even support 60fps on this phone, and on the Android phones it does support it, the other elements of graphics suffer A LOT from the FPS boost. Given how Android graphics are pretty terrible to begin with, at 120fps, should you manage to unlock it, the game will look like trash.
If solely playing Fortnite at a decent framerate is your goal, in that budget, I'd recommend getting an iPad Mini 5. Runs 60fps smoothly, doesn't look that bad, and is a great way to play the game. Works great for me. If you absolutely must have 120fps, you'll need to shell out more cash for a PC or for an iPad Pro.
Currently fortnite does support 60 fps on the rog phone 2, but it sets your graphics to high to run at 60 fps. Switching back to any higher sets it back to 30 fps, but you can always move around from high to low for better fps stability.
Here is a screenshot.
I had Fortnite running at 120fps on my s20 ultra using parallel space and editing the same things you are talking about in the space. It doesn't say 120fps, it says option, but here's a screen shot just to show you it is possible.
I would assume you could do the same thing through a regular root.
Hi there id like too know if this touchsamplingrate app is giving me the right info about the amount of hz the sampling rate is of mi9.
When i test the app it tells me my screen has 240 touch sampling rate. I do not want tpo believe this, so thats qhy i ask question.
App is called touch multitest. U can find on playstore. Its a little oudated so i dont trust it .
And i cant find a answer on internet about the amount hz the mi9 has.
Sorry for bad english tho
Thanks
Using this method and a couple of fast scrolling session I get the following data:
Max: 466
Min: 0
Avg: 168,00648508431
Median: 185
I guess you can trust the median, it's ~180Hz. Although when I stop and go, I often get around ~210Hz as well.
Nice. I did not test this method yet, because at the moment i do not have a pc.
Thanks for testing and the info since there is no info nor video on the internet testing the mi9 touch sampling rate.
I tested this app on poco f1 and on redmi note 8 pro and both are at 180 hz.
Heres another screenshot of the app itself tested on mi9.
I think its very impressive (if the app really works) since i know that only high end gaming phones(redmagic, blackshark etc) have 240 hz.
