how to get back themes when you ROOT - Huawei Mate 10 Themes, Apps, and Mods
I rooted. My M10 now all themes is gone, anyone figure how to get it back? Ty
I think you need to go into settings, apps, find Theme app and clear cache & data
We need a hw_init folder from stock phone and place it back on rooted phone.
I have the ALP-L09 version mate only with the bootloader unlocked. If that way you are worth, tell me where I find that folder and how I extract it and upload it here

I create a "themes" folder in the system folder and put the hwt files in the themes folder to get back the themes.

I use "Total commander" from playstore. Navigate to root/system then create a new folder (Press the three dot on the top right) and name it "themes". You need to change the folder permission to 755. Press and hold the folder until a dialogue appears and choose properties. Then press on RWX. You can then change the permission. You can then copy the hwt files to this folder and change the files permission to 644. You can download themes from (for mate 10 pro but works fine on regular mate 10):

Did everything you wrote and still can not change themes . I'm on 127 firmware.

Please check and make sure that folder permission is 755, hwt files permission is 644. The "themes" folder must be in the root/system folder. If this is the case and it does not work I do not have the answer.

I checked my files... It is exactly same as you said. Still doesn't work. The themes shows but it doesn't apply.

You have another option: create the following folders in the root/data folder:
hw_init/version/region_comm/oversea/themes
You need to have five folders in this order unless you already have some of these folders. You then put the hwt files in the "themes" folder. Make sure all the folder have 755 permission and the hwt files have 644 permission. Good luck!

Create the following folders:
hw_init/version/region_comm/oversea/
Then unzip the attach screenlock.zip and put the folder screenlock and its subdirectories in the oversea folder. Make sure you set folder permission to 755 and files permission to 644.

Click to collapse Are you replacing a system app that is built into the ROM? If so, the way I do it is Go to System/App Find the apk you want to replace, long click and click on permissions. Take a note of what the permissions are set as Rename the apk you're replacing with .bak at the end (it's just a backup!) Paste the new .apk into the folder Set the permissions identically to the way it was before Reboot your phone. Done.

Then use the ".." folder at the top of root explorer to go back to the "/" (root) directory. Select "system" then "app" and touch the "Mount R/W" button. Then choose "paste". Lastly find the apk you pasted in /system/app, long press it and choose "Permissions". A cmd window will open. 5) Where it says "Please make your decision", write "22" and enter. Then enter "1" and enter. Then enter "9" and enter. The script will decompile the framework-res.apk. 6) Now go to your apk manager folder, go to Projects\framework-res.apk\res\anim\. In this folder there are the animations of your rom. They consist in some .xml files decompiled. 7) Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/?1qjwtotg1r8umm1 8) Copy the files from the folder "anims" of the zip downloaded into the anim folder and you are asked to replace the files; choose yes. But I suggest you to mention that IT NEEDS to resign the apk after the tutorial is finished....we need to take the META-INF from the res apk decompiled, then open the unsigned apk, delete its META-INF and paste the META-INF from the original framework-res.apk...otherwise it won't work!

Thanks for the tutorial, these animations are great However, I flashed it on Runny 4.0, all the animations work, but when I adb pushed it to /system/framework the market force closed, and then when I rebooted all my accounts were gone?

How to install game data?
Can someone tell me how to install game data in the phone memory. I am facing a problem. In tutorials of installing games hitman go and Leo' fortune, it is said that to copy the data to obb folder. But there's no obb folder and when I make it gives me an error: "change the folder name" or something.... And when I put the data in the "data" folder, the games say "you have not purchased the game"... Please help! Sent from my XT1092 using XDA Free mobile app
You have to connect your phone to a computer and then you will be able to see the obb folder through the computer. For some reason, it can't be seen through the phone. Not sure if this is due to a lack of root or not. I've had some problems with games still not working, but that could be for an unrelated reason.
Well, in my case i was not able to see the obb folder or create one on my mac. What u can do is:- 1) Install ES File Explorer. 2)copy your obb file into the internal storage. 3)There is an option of "windows" in the file explorer. 4)Then click new on the bottom left. 5)select type file(local). 6)enter path"/sdcard" 7)then use search and type "obb" and enter the folder. now you should be able to see the "obb" folder. 8)now switch "windows". 9)now you can select the obb file and use "cut" option and then switch "windows" by swiping in from right and selecting the obb folder. 10)now just paste your file there and then install apk and run your game.
