Samsung note 5: My notification "ring" for e mails, text messages, etc. continues to sound every minute unless the message/e mail is deleted. Very annoying. This is a new development. Help please.

I am getting almost zero email notifications on the watch. I will occasionally get the list of emails (useless) type notification and then just a few individual emails about 2 hours after I received them. No idea what the issue is.

which phone are you using. is your phone received the mail notification? do note that your g watch notification is tied to your phone..check your phone and see what is your sync frequency.
Downloaded an app call WearMail that is definitely improving things but for some reason doesn't include an option for Outlook mail.
You know, after getting 300 email notifications on my watch, 98% of which I don't care about, I decided to disable email notifications completely. I mean, whats the point? I can just check my phone from time to time. The call and sms notifications are the ones I'm really interested in.
I just got my g watch r. I really like it but it does not show any texts when I get them, just that I have a message waiting. Emails show up and I can read them, but not texts. Am I doing something wrong or does this watch simply not display texts???
the way text messages are displayed totally depends on the app you are using
I switched to evolvesms when getting my watch as it displays the whole text even for long messages, shows high quality contact pics and lets you define you own canned responses
If using the stock Samsung sms app, you need to make sure the option to display texts on the lockscreen is turned on.

thanks guys, I switched to google hangouts as my default text messaging app and it worked just fine. I was worried there for a moment!
Hello! I found an unpleasant WhatsApp bug. Using Google Now to send a whatsapp message, is shown correctly on whatsapp but not sent, remains in the "queue" with the clock icon but if you open the application of whatsapp or you get a message from someone at that point is sent, this does not always happen but it happens especially after a few minutes for whatsapp is not opened / used, it seems that the application goes into standby output. Unfortunately this problem limits also the use of whatsapp on a smartwatch Android wear because the response to notifications happens through the voice service of google now.
This happens when you want send new message. Replay always work.
I have been experiencing delayed notifications on my Note 9, mainly with Facebook Messenger, but it applies also to the Line messenger app and Outlook, so it's not confined to one app. It's probably just that I use Messenger often, so notice it more with Messenger
The symptoms are a random and sometimes very long delay between sending a message and receiving a notification, measured in minutes to hours. Sometimes, I'll receive a bunch of notifications from multiple apps when opening the screen.
Other times, even opening the screen does not cause me to receive notifications. I can be actively using the phone and there will still be a random delay on notifications.
For example, I was using my phone earlier to web browse and my girlfriend sent me a message. I did not get a notification. After 30 minutes, she called and asked me why I was not reading her message. Opening the messenger app, I saw the message there (as well as the time at which it was sent) and about one minute later the notification came in.
Similarly, I can be using the phone and someone will video call me on Messenger. I don't get a notification until I actually open the app (I know this since my other phone that has the Messenger app installed on it rings, so I know I have an incoming call).
I can test notification delay by using one account from a computer to send a message to the account linked to my phone, so I know exactly when the message was sent. But the notification delay, even while using the phone actively, is still present and measured in minutes to hours, whereas the other phone receives the notification immediately.
It is NOT doze mode at fault. I have explicitly disabled ALL battery optimizations as well as turning off doze mode with ADB at boot time.
It's not bluetooth, even though some users in other threads have pointed to bluetooth being at fault.
I have cleared cache, uninstalled all updates for Google Play Services and Google Play and reinstalled them.
The phone itself seems capable of receiving push notifications correctly. I can use the push notification tester app to setup a high priority notification for, let's say 10 minutes from now. Then I shut the screen. After 5 minutes, I send a message to my phone with Facebook Messenger. No notification is received for this message.
After 10 minutes, the Push Notification Tester app triggers its notification correctly, which is received immediately. And then shortly afterwards, the notification comes in from Facebook Messenger.
Clearing cache and data on Messenger doesn't make any difference, and as I said in the first paragraph, it does not appear to be the app, since other apps are affected.
This is driving me crazy. I miss out on messages and important emails.
Is anyone aware of any solution to this problem? I just see a whole bunch of snake oil remedies on the net, but no real solution.
It appears to be something that might be related to notification priority, judging by the behaviour of the Push Notification Tester app, but this is just speculation on my part
I had the Watch 4 pro and now the Watch 5 pro and have experienced the same issue. I'm using a Galaxy S22 ultra phone as well. I do not get notifications/alerts on my watch when I get text messages to my default text messaging app, Google Messages. I have received a notification only 2 times. Both times I had sent a text with my phone while at work with bad service, and the message wont send. I then get notified on my watch that the text didn't send. And at that point, and text messages that come through will vibrate on my watch until while that original notification is there. Does anyone have my insight as to whether this is a known issue with Google Messages and the Galaxy Watches? I have all the proper notification settings in place. Its not a deal breaker enough for me to go back to the stock messaging app, but it would be nice to get Google Messages to work properly with the notifications! Both the phone and watch are regularly updated.
