First you must flash stock recovery. You can extract from another full rom 7.0
Second you must have downgrade pack for your region and mobile operator.
Next you must have full rom 6.0 for your region.
You must have all file because you don't want debrand your firmware
Thanks, actually if i want debrand my phone whats the diference? Because I think I don't care...
Also, where can i find all of these files you write about?
I'm really lost with all firmware versions ... Does it matter if my version is EVA L09 C33B363 and i flash stock recovery from another version??
Also, my bootloader is locked, do I have to relock it? Does it even possible??

Here you have how debrand
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/guide-debranding-to-c432-updating-to-t3551523
If you debrand you can then flash stock recovery flash b300 and then b136 and do it wipe in stock recovery.
When you want debrand first you see your cust be c900 and then you must flash stock recovery do it wipe system/data and cache
If you do it your cust change to c432 and then must check your region using dial pad
*#*#2846579#*#* then push 3 and 4
If you see your vendor: hw and country: Europe
You can downgrade to b300 and then to b182
You lose your theme and you see ugly icon then do it wipe system/data and cache in stock recovery
After this you have update to b383 then b386 next to b391 and final to b393 or b394
I have b393

As asked in the title, can I update a rooted Huawei P9 with custom recovery to Nougat update?
And if not, what should I do in order to update? Remove root and custom recovery? Factory reset?
Thanks in advance
What the firmware version do you have ??
You can update the phone, but changind the firmware will mean that you'll lost the root.
You can update it, then you can root the phone again ....
EMUI 4.1.1
I also have TWRP custom recovery.. Would that make it riskier to update?
And how should I update? Wait for update to be available through phone or other methods? And what would be the other (easy) methods if I decide not to wait for it to be available through the settings on the phone?
If possible and not a bother, could you link another thread or a guide for this, please?
Thanks for all the help!
What build number do you have? It should be something like L09C432B383.
You can update to Nougat using TWRP but you will lose root and TWRP Recovery will go back to stock recovery. Just download the appropriate Nougat firmware that matches your Cust number (Eg, C900, C432 etc).
You can flash TWRP Recovery again and root your phone after the update.
Note: Nougat supersu.zip file is different from Marshmallows.
Build Number: L09C606B150
Ok, so should I do it directly through the phone? Or Pc?
I found an update to Nougat with the Build Number: C432B322. Should I use this one to update? And should I flash through TWRP? If yes, how should I do it?
Sorry for all the questions, I've never bricked a phone and not ready to do it now...

No you have to find a firmware that matches your cust (C606). If you flash this C432B322 you will brick your phone.

Thanks! I fortunately waited for the answer before updating hahaha
And I searched for an update with c606 and didn't find one.. how should I proceed with that?
If you really want to get to Nougat and not wait for build releases for your cust C606 then you will need to debrand your phone to C432 cust following this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/guide-debranding-to-c432-updating-to-t3551523
And do keep in mind doing incremental updates instead of jumps ahead of a build is better to do to avoid compatibility issues from build to build.
Hello,
I was on B360 Oreo.
I unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP, used MAGISK (16) to modify boot(ramdisk) partition, flashed it and got ROOT.
Then I flashed HYPER KERNEL.
Now i realised that custom kernel gives me nothing special in term of battery life (after 7 days) so i flashed back all stock partitions (BOOT, RECOVERY, KERNEL).
Now I am on stock, but with bootloader unlocked.
So i can get updates, but no ANDROID PAY.
The TASK is: How to lock bootloader. I mean LOCK not RELOCK.
ON nougat when i used the HWOTA to debrand my device the device was automatically locked after the change.
Now on HWOTA8 i flashed all three parts of the B360 full ota to get the bootloader locked, but still unlocked.
I think to erase and flash OEMINFO again, but i am afraid to brick the device by that.
Does anybody know how to make forced update that the bootloader will lock?
@Blackball maybe?
Actually the only way i discover to do this is, go Back to nougat, and the update vía firmware Finder vía proxy while you had your bootloader locked after rebranding again, Cheers brother
will try to update via firmware finder from b360 to b365 full firmware. Will see.
How this went for You?
Hi guys
Someone has succeeded with downgrade from oreo to nougat ? I need go to huawei service, to exchange the display, but problem is "relocked bootloader"
So many tutorials here, which to follow for downgrade and have "locked bootloader" ?
You can use HiSuite or install the downgrade firmware through Firmware Finder. It has the normal Nougat version, but in the description it tells that it downgrades.
HiSuite tells me that I have the latest version so.. I cant downgrade from HiSuite, or if i can tell me how to do it please
@yungshadow
As M1chiel said, try with Firmware Finder.
Remember!! Everything is on your own risk!!
Don't know which version you have, but for me this is the roll back firmware...
Let's try. But.. still 0%
If you use proxy option, you have to set proxy in WiFi settings.
localhost and 8080
Then start download and wait until 4-5%, then disable proxy and continue download.
i'm using DNS. Now 11% XD
ok i'm finally have emui 5. Now i must rebrand ?
That I don't know, I already didn't understand why you wanted to downgrade ??

I need to have bootloader status "locked" not "relocked" so i must rebrand to l09 and back to l29 yeah?
Ok guys
I Found a solution.
1. Downgrade from Oreo via FF using B185 (downgrade firmware) thanks
djg269 said:
2. Download some L09 firmware and install via FF
3. After installing I had bootloop (huawei logo, booting system for 10-15 sec and still restarting)
4. Enter eRecovery VOL-UP + POWER > Wipe data and cache
5. After Wipe phone said it's still L29 but now bootloader is locked not relocked
So i'm done now

I have a small question - in FF it says to make sure my current version is not "unlocked" - does that mean the bootloader or...? I just want to downgrade to B180 so I can install HuShed. I'm on L29C432B360 currently.
I don't remember this information. Could u send here Screenshoot with that dialog from FF ?
Same screenshot as post #4 -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76556011&postcount=4
I used b185 from b360 with unlocked bootloader and I had no problems.
You should use b185(rollback firmware) and after this will be able toinstall whatever you want
Alright, last question - I have TWRP installed for 8.0. Will this affect the downgrade somehow? Because for example I can't install OTAs with TWRP. I'm sorry I'm kinda new to these kinds of stuff.
I didn't have installed twrp for 8.0 when i Decided to do downgrade so I think it doesn't matter but you can flash stock recovery for 8.0 if u want ofc.
Now i'm on 8.0.0.365(c432) but with official OTA update
Service firmware Emui 9.1 PE C432 huawei p smart(2018) + root Magisk
This is the fig lx Emui 8 firmware on fig lx EMUI9.1 location c432 9pe.android.
Downloading the firmware, unpack the necessary files into the DLOAD folder. And put the folder with the firmware on the DLOAD sd card. Turn off the phone: hold down + - and turn it on after vibration, watch the firmware process. After the firmware, a hard reset will occur, and the boot loader is locked (before the firmware, make sure that stock recovery is in place)
Download firmware :

Installing root. Unlock bootloader, install
TWRP
..
We will need:
Magisk manager installed on the phone. RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img pulled from UPDATE.APP firmware How to patch stock recovery: We go in tel. in Magisk manager click Install Select patch file We are looking for our RECOVERY_RAMDIS waiting for the end (the path is specified after completion) magisk_patcher.img. The path of the phone memory folder Download If twrp with encryption, our patched file is transferred to our magisk_patcher.img.
1.We go to TWRP, if twrp is not in the Erecovery section, then we flash it into erecovery through img. (Wish) images.
2. We are patching our patched stock recovery to the recovery section.
3.We do through Twrp a reboot in recovery to start the root (it will not go into rekoveri already) With EVERY boot, if we want to root, we boot into the recovery (volume + when turned on), when rebooting, Magisk Manager does this automatically. Route received. What works: Full root, Magisk Hide and everything connected with it including Google Pay, as well as eRecovery What does not work: It is impossible to install a stock recovery, which means that to update the system you need to flash the native recovery, update it, and then do the procedure again.
Ready patched Stock recovery flash in RECOVERY section for C432 9.1.0.115
Download patched: download
Download Magisk : download
Already come updates on the C432, wait, or check through applications Hicare Norway choose a country.

There are Open Kirin Treble Oreo ROMs (RR, LOS) for Huawei/Honor phones:
https://openkirin.net/user_guide/openkirin-rom-installation-instructions/
Installation instructions require:
1) OK Oreo ROMs can only be installed over Huawei stock Oreo (not over stock Nougat)
2) OK ROM must be flashed by Fastboot, not from TWRP (btw, TWRP for Huawei Oreo is different than TWRP for Nougat because of different partitions names, sizes, etc)
There is also XDA thread about Open Kirin Treble ROMs (on P9):

First, go back to stocl Nougat, and please read again my previous answer - I gave you link for HWOTA7 method for rebranding from stock L09/L19 to AL10 and then upgrading toAL10c00 b540 Oreo
If you don't like unlocked FRP, then go back to stock Nougat and re-lock Bootliader (and then lock FRP back).
But as long as you do rooting, installing custom ROMs, or rebranding to that AL10, you must have unlocked Bootloader and for unlocked Bootliader you must have also unlocked FRP

(Re)installing/OTA updating some stock firmwares lock back both OEM/FRP and Bootloader, but it depends on the firmware itself (Huawei who prepare them).
If you already installed latest firmware for your cust by eRecovery, you can only try to do Factory reset from stock Recovery or eRecovery
Otherwise, rolling back to Marshmallow (and after that updating again to Nougat) shoulf fix the problem with disabled OEM unlock option (I had it twice but in the opposite way, OEM was locked but its option was disabled)
However, having unlocked FRP is not a big trouble. You can still open Bootloader and root/flash, etc - problem would be if OEM option was disabled but locked - then you could not unlock Bootloader and flash anything from Fastboot
With FRP=Factory Reset Protection unlocked you (only) have:
- 'annoying' note that phone is not secure while booting
- ability to start Factory reset from Recovery and eRecovery (with licked FRP, Factory reset is only allowed once you login to the System, from Settings or Project menu)
- ability to unlock Bootloader and flash things

How do you install Noigat custom ROM? - decide which custom ROM you want to use and then find its documentation and learn there how it must be installed.
And/or, find the forum/thread about that custom ROM and read the OP posts, and ask your questions there
Which AL10 ROM you want to install...bxs on Russian forum there are alternatives? - If you want to follow XDA guide, then READ it and you will find answer there.
But if you want to follow Russian guide, then register to the Russian forum and ask your questions there
