5T Charging dock station recommandation - OnePlus 5T Accessories

Hi XDA members !
I'm actually looking for a great dock station for the 5T which could do this features :
-Dash Charge
-Jack deport (optional)
-Speaker sound deport (optional)
-Video Output (optional - But I've heard that 5 (and 5T i guess) "can't output" video easily through type C)
As you guess, Dash Charge is the main priority. Is there any brand for high quality docks ?
Thanks a lot for your advice. :fingers-crossed:

I'm interested in this also.
I found this on Amazon but have no experience with any myself:

Hi, have had that dock since August and found it very good. Dash charging works a treat.

Any recommendations on smaller sized projectors to pair with Galaxy Note 2?

I'm curious to know what others out there are using. I'd love to be able to project my note 2 screen ontova wall and play games "wall-size!" Also, I've read in another area that you can attach speakers and projector tovthe samsung smart dock for a full multimedia experience; as the pico projectors volume capabilities are not up to par in most cases.
I'd love to know anybody elses viewpoint on the whole thing!
Cheers!!

Following this closely. I've been looking for a pico projector myself.
My geekdar went off and I found this..... waiting for knowlage on this (googles with thunderous fury)
So about two months ago I bought the pico projector sold by Brookstone for $299.99. It's 85 lumens and is noticeably brighter than some of the other ones I've seen. It has HDMI input and has a USB power output so it can power up other devices, charge your phone, etc. Most importantly it can power up a MHL cable so it works directly with the Note II. It also has built-in speakers that, while not great in quality, are much louder than the ones in the Note II. It's very small and light and weighs almost nothing.
Here's a little YouTube review:
Link to Brookstone:

Link to the nice MHL cable: $14
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/206665927.html
Note that the Note II uses a different MHL cable than the first Note, or older devices. It's the same as the cable for the SIII, with the 11-pin. That link there is for a cable that works and charges your phone too.

Awesome! Now im also wondering if theres some type of an accessory that allows the pico projector to be placed facing upwards towards ceiling with some type of clamp that holds the accessory in place such as the headboard of the bed for ceiling viewing pleasure. Not sure if itll work on popcorn ceilings though...

Vs.

Let me think for a bit why I might not go for the Sammy
But the Brookstone is at least twice as big so are they even really competitive options? I think they're after different markets perhaps...

I noticed the differences as well. I'm not concerned about the size of the pico, so I'm leaning towards the Brookstone based on reviews that I've read.

i would want to get the sammy one just because its sammy, honestly i think sammy is one the top leading manufacturers, everything in my house from electronics is sammy and honestly no regrets at all...with the exception of my sound system lol

[n00b question/semi-rant thread] USB C to 3.5 jack adapter

Mate 10 pro user here.
I mean, really, how hard is it, to put a 3.5mm jack in a 700€ phone?
Whatever, ontopic, since I already lost my original adapter, has anyone tried one of the cheap Chinese ones, something like THIS for example? Does it work alright? If yes, I'm going to buy 30, because I'm going to lose 28. Is there something I need to be careful about?
Once again, thumbs up for taking away features. :good::good::highfive:
I think it was a Huawei executive who explained that people say they would want a thicker phone if it meant it includes feature X, but when people go and actually purchase a phone, they buy via hand feel where thinness wins.
The issue with USB C adapters is that there isn't really a standard way of getting audio out of the port. Most implementations are proprietary. You really have to buy one to test out before you go and buy 30.
i have one of this from gearbest and is working fine with mate 10 pro
also i have one with charge and audio same time and working fine. i mean audio part, charging is only regular, not fast charge

Where did you get the charge and audio cable from? I'm going to need one for my P20 Pro but a lot I see for sale don't seem to charge and supply audio at the same time (according to the reviews on Amazon at least).
i tried the adapter that comes with the mate 10 pro on my mate 10 non-pro, and it doesn't work! LOL
i bought the razer brand adapter from amazon and it is the BOMB. highly recommend.
I ordered a cheap random one from Amazon which works fine with audio, but charges at maximum 300ma, which is fine if you are using it over night, but obviously not great otherwise
Can you link that?
Anyone has a link to one that has aux and charging at the same time?
The Mate 10 Pro requires an adapter with a DAC (digital to analogue converter) in it. Basically that means the adapter needs a small audio processor and amp to convert the digital stream in to something your headphones can use.
Some of the really cheap adapters don't contain a DAC due to some different implementations of audio via USB C.
The really cheap adapters with a DAC might sound bad if the amp and processor are nasty and weak.
I'm not sure what the right amount is to spend to get a good quality one. I got a fairly cheap adapter which charges at the same time to use in the car so I can charge for sat nav and have audio (car doesn't allow Bluetooth music). The sound quality of this seems to be comparable to the bundled adapter without a charge socket when comparing the two one after the other. It's certainly not noticeably worse.
The adapter I got is advertised as allowing charging of up to 1.5a but I haven't seen more than 900ma. Still just about enough to charge slowly when listening to music, and to stop any drain if using sat nav in the car.
This isn't the seller I used but is the same product so you can see what I've got working for audio and charging:

This is the one I bought
The audio worked surprisingly well, with no hissing (Very quiet with dirt cheap headphones, but quite acceptable with a £10 pair). Only downside was that the charge was 300mA max according to Ampere - but since I was charging it overnight it wasn't an issue.
I'm sure there are better ones out there, but for less than £3 I got more than I expected!
Hi, i bought a second original adaptor from Huawei, it costs 12euros (like 15 dollars), minimal and short with great audio quality. Don't save 10 bucks on this item if you like audio quality

Does this phone support audio/video output through the usb-c port? What about the 7 pogo pins? Thanks!

I would imagine that it does, however if it does not then it will almost certainly support displaylink tech which uses a dock as the driver for video out, audio works too but you may not be able to charge whilst using it.
I've used this on the Oneplus 5 which did not have video out of any kind.
Docks can be a little pricey but so long as it states "Displaylink" Technology then it should work.
You will also need the app to get it to work.
Latency is on par with video out.

The ZTE Nubia Red Magic 3 is not compatible with USB-C to HDMI adapters, at least for now, Nubia said that maybe they will add HDMI support in their next update but not sure... The only thing we can do is continue asking them to add HDMI support on their Red Magic facebook page
If they don't add it it's a shame for a gaming smartphone not to be compatible with HDMI adapters

I think it also has more input lag than smartphones with direct usb-c support, just don't buy "flagship" smartphones without hdmi support they are not worth it, it should be a standard on high-end smartphones

I agree it's still a better solution than wireless display solutions like chromecast or miracast or other slow and high input lag wireless display stuff for uncompatible smartphones, but I also have seen that DisplayLink consumes way more battery than direct HDMI
And displaylink adapters are also more expensive, but again still better than wireless connection :good:
What a failure phone. A pubg streamer bought this garbage and he is not able to connect it to elgato capture card. All of these chinese phones are GARBAGE just stay away from them if you want hdmi.

USB-C to 3.5mm Audio?

Has anyone used some type of USB-C->3.5mm adapter to route audio out with any luck? I'm looking to use my current my wired headphones and my car stereo aux port. I know old lol. My wireless BeatsX suck, they dont get loud at all. The wired Beats I got 6 years ago blows these POS of earbuds out of the water. Looking for any suggestions on an adapter and any special config required in android. Currently running rooted stock. Thanks.
UPDATE - I found a great adapter that works with my car aux port with no problems. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BTVQ8YC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just so you know more: every adapter should work indeed.
But these adapters contain DAC (digital to analogic converter), in order to receive sound through USB and sending it through good old analogic 3.5mm. The quality of these DAC can really have a difference in sound quality. Not on standard car environment, sure, but for someone with good earphones it is worthwhile to search for a little quality for these adapters.

The OEM adapter does not have a DAC. It doesn't need one because it's correctly wired to work with the USB audio out on the OnePlus devices. So if you use this one, you're actually using the DAC in the phone itself.

Actually it sucks (at least for the OnePlus 7T), I got one too and I regret, the sound volume is really bad with the apple adapter because it wasn't made for Android phones at all of course.
I went to a miniso store and got one adapter there and is 5x times better than the Apple one, and cost 3x less. xd

I tried one (from Ali Express). It is unusable while charging as I started hearing motor sound after one minute of usage. Unplug and plug that back in, again same issue in a minute. None of such adapters support fast charging as far as I know.
