Hi everyone, I have have a big trouble with my note 8.
I did a update today because Samsung was proposing that to me
After the update, I have a error message about system ui and I can do nothing with my phone.
Not rooted, nothing is modified in my phone. I have only installed substratum with swift black theme but not rooted.
I think it's because of this.
Someone can help me please, the secured mode change Nothing.
Help please
Substratum is probably your problem. I ended up doing a hard reset but I think I read that if you can get into safe boot, you can delete Substratum from there.
If you go the hard reset method, don't recover your apps with backup. You'll just drag the problem back.
Epic my Note was already loosing the ability to open apps and once I updated I could not get the phone to open just do a hard reset and everything will go back to normal mine is running great

Don't update with Substratum theme installed, as stated by another member just boot into safe mode and uninstall all the substratum layers you have installed and reboot.

Hello,
I here made some terrible mistake with my Galaxy note3.
I rooted my device and then installed busybox on rails.
Then I installed layer manager.
Then installed theme from Google Play!
applied the theme and then reboot.
Now as my phone reboot.
I saw that now google play is not working it crashes everytime I install any app. Theme is very ugly.
Now as I open the layer manager to remove the theme I saw that it crashes again and again ..... everytime.
Their seems no hope, how I can remove this f****** theme from my device.
I would appriciate any help.
please suggest an alternative approach than flashing stock rom via odin!!!

Hi guys, I got serious problem of app crushes. I want to just do a reset and change my rom cause it's outdated anyway. The thing is I have substratum theme and as of what I know you have to uninstall first your theme in order to install new rom. But Everytime I uninstall the overlays I reboot and it still seems like I still have the theme installed. Do you know what should I do?
Uninstalling substratum themes and app
Good morning to all.
I have a stock non rooted Galaxy Note 8 and after a theme updated last night and I restarted the phone, I get a System UI has stopped pop up box after reboot and then the screen goes black, that's as far as I can get....
Can someone point me in the right direction as to how I can disable the theme via adb or whatever else I have to do to avoid a factory reset?

you'll likely have to find the APKs sangstratum created and delete them manually
Hi everyone
I have rooted my phone like a week ago, using CF root on the latest stock rom, and it worked. However I've been noticing certain situations in which the root is there but doesn't seem to be working. I have problems using most of the root apps, and the zips I've flashed.
For example I flashed a font package and all the new fonts appeared in the list after the reboot, I chose my font but now I don't see any of those fonts in the list, not even the one I chose (It's still the default font for my phone but it doesn't show in the list.) In addition I can't even touch play protect let alone disable it, and the samsung device manager keeps warning me that I should restart the phone to undo the root in order to "protect" my phone.
So I think it's partially rooted, and I don't know what the problem is. Would anyone please help me?
I have noticed a new update is available for our devices. There isn't much detail but it seems it isn't just a security update.

I have received the update as well, although I just updated to the pie update from Oreo yesterday, I noticed that night mode isn't working (is it the same for you) - thinking of performing a factory reset
Also is your device rooted? Cus I can see the magisk icon on your status bar.
Thank you.

Hello
There isn't any global dark mode, I heard it is coming in Android 10. Google keeps adding dark mode to their apps though.
It is rooted through the "temp root solution". System and boot partition are still locked and Magisk is stuck on a old version. I just use it for titanium backup etc.

Thanks I was able to get it working, do you have any modules working well with it (what are they?), Trying to set up edxposed (so I can use lucky patcher) without luck

How did you get titanium backup running? it keeps saying it can't detect root.

It runs fine here however you can lose the entire root (super user) functionality unless you reboot sometimes. I think phone's hard core power manager kills Magisk sometimes. When it happens Magisk will say new version is available.
BTW I use this root method:

Some users report some stuff working but as there is no TWRP and Magisk manager shell, I am afraid to test things. Basically anything running early will fail, think like running a NT service vs running on user login. This thing runs very late for any advanced hack to work.

ohh no substratum normal .apk theme
flash your current rom again via Odin but use HOME_CSC so that you keep your data.
if you are rooted patch it again.
edit: hmm, actually maybe this won't work if the bad theme is user data itself. where did you get it from ? there aren't any 3rd party themes for this device so you were taking a risk to try something at random.
didn't think an apk alone (without root) could do anything unless it's from Samsung store. if it is a Samsung theme I've no idea if uninstalling it and rebooting should make it go away.
