Hello in the Firmware Finder the newest B160 Firmware has available, but according to the program not approved for installation. Could it incompatible or damage my phone if I install this?
Same was when I have checked at first the B159, after a short time, the firmware become approved and now run without any error, except for when I make a video with the phone I couldn't set to mute in spite of turn on the option.
Help me to could I install this or not supported?
I have Huawei P10 VTR- L09
Current build: VTR-L09C02B159

There is a EVA-L09C636B361 in the list.
I just tried it the other day. There are two FULL pacakges, but neither works. Installation failed either at 5% or around 40%.
I update the L19 version, you must use Huawei Updater tool.
The L09 I think must works (with the correct URL for that version)
In the L19, exist two versions, 29 and 30 december. The first works, the second no, I dont know why.
Use the FULL versions.
God luck.

My model is Huawei P9 EVA-L09C636
I tried to update like this, it's started updating and got an error while updating then phone rebooted with new update,
but there's lot of errors,
Built Number displays as - NRD90M test-keys
Updater missing in settings
Camera missing
Flash Light not working
Clock missing
File Manger missing
and few more default huawei apps missing.
How do I fix it or downgrade to previous version back?
My Phone is Huawei P9 EVA-L09C636
Even though my phone is L09 I've flashed L19 by following the steps on this thread -
(https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/nxt-l09c636b521-official-firmware-guide-t3544729/)

it's still NRD90M test-keys. but i'm cool with it.
Hi everybody, I'm new comer and using Huawei P9. Version L19C636B320
I tried many times update to B361 version by Huawei updater and Hisuite but unfortunately It didn't work. Follow some guideline I have just download update of L19C432B360 and copy to "dload" folder in my device, using power key and 02 volume button, it has been work and now my device version is: NDR90M test-key.
After that, I have use "update.app" file of some version (L19C636B361, L19C636B190) for change version again but it's not working and when use hisuite said that:
you are using the lastest official version.
Current version: NDR90M test-keys(Official)
Note: I cannot find the "check for update" function in Setting menu too.
Please help to explain what is status of my device?
Should I worrier about the next update? My device can be normally receive OTA update or not? What should I will do now?
Many thank for help!
(Sorry if any mistake on my English)
The same here.
I have a P9 Lite Gold L31 brand Vodafone ITA with no mods from the box, and I tried to update via Proxy following instructions of a non-specialized website.
I choosed FULL OTA 1,29 GB ca. and now I have NDR90M test-keys - Android 7.0
The phone seems to work but reading online it semms that this is not a regular package and I will not receive updates.
I became to shake myself with no ability to do anything.
Please tell me what to do to go back to previous situation (smartphone as out-of-box branded Vodafone with marshmallow and correct serial number) or at least to go to a situation where I'll can update via official channel.
Thank you so much, I can also pay you via PayPal.
Hi all,
I'm a complete newbie here so would appreciate any kind responses being kept suitably simple. I've just bought (early January) a P9 in the UK, sim free, unbranded running EVA-L09C432B166. Its last security update is July 2016.
I came to this phone as a warranty replacement for a Nexus 6P boot-looped by the December Andriod 7.1.1 update on the basis it would get Android 7.0 soon. However, there is no sign of this via the updater or the new HiCare app. I've tried installing full versions of B182 (though I might need this as a step to Nougat), B360 and B361 from Firmware Finder using the dload method (volume up/power button and dialler method) but they all fail at around 37-40%. Does anyone have any ideas whether the B166 version will ever get an OTA update to Andriod 7.0 (Huawei reply with the same general statements about it being rolled out in batches) or can advise what I am doing wrong when trying to update manually?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi, thanks very much for your response. Unfortunately I appear to have two problems with it.
Firstly I have been unable to update to B182, it does not appear in Hi Suite or Updater and I have not been able to update via dload as the update fails.
Secondly, I run a Mac not Windows machine so no Hi Suite for me I understand.
Im afraid you will have to use a windows machine. Following these steps you will have zero problems. I was also on B182 and all went smooth without a single problem.
edit: sorry,, I read "I have been able to update to b182". which version are you using right now?? what methods have you used to get to b182? and lastly what errors have you encountered?
I'm on B166. No update shows in update or HiCare. I have tried updating to B182 using firmware finder using. dload. I have tried using both power/volume up buttons and the dialler method with dload in both internal memory and on SD card. All methods fail at around 37-40%..
I am not an expert at all so any advice would be great, thanks.

I'm resurrecting this thread as am in exactly the same boat Steve. Did you ever figure this out?
Contacting Huawei customer services, they were cagey saying the update would be rolled out in batches then when I gave my IMEI number to find out, they became very cagey refusing to confirm or deny it would be updated at all..
Considering returning my new (cheap deal) P9 if it cant/won't be updated to N and EMUI 5.0...
S
After lots of 'pushing' by Twitter message. Huawei confirmed update process commenced in Q1 of 2017 but they would not commit to whether it would end within that period. They confirmed that my P( would be updated and that if it wasn't updated by the end of the process they would push it manually to my IMEI. SO ti does appear I will get it - eventually.
Just a little bit to add to the mix, I sent my imei to Huawei today only to be told that I'd bought the phone from carphone warehouse and the firmware id's slightly different and won't be updated until May, they wouldn't say what the difference is as my phone is still an open market version! Frustrated is an understatement I thought I was getting a unlocked phone!!! Think I'll be sticking to a Google phone in the future, at least you know where you stand!
Hello, I have an EVA-L09C25B136 that's on EMUI 4.1 and Android 6.0. When I check for updates there are not any updates.
The phone is from a latin american carrier "Claro DR" and I haven't done anything to the phone, so it is pure stock. Is there any way I can update this phone to the latest available version for this model?
I have searched the forums but the guides are not directly related to my exact build so I want to be sure before I go and damage it.
Thank you.
FirmwareFinder. It can download every available build from Huaweis server..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.huaweifirmwarefinder&hl=en
How do I know which firmware is compatible with my device?
When I get the list and check every one of the options available, none of those say that they are for my build number.
Don't know what you did.
Open FirmwareFinder, normally it'll recognize your build. In your case EVA-L09C25. If not set the model manually.
Then tap the refresh button and the app will show all builds.
Tap on the first one (EVA-L09C25B320) and ckeck firmware access.
A pop-up will appear with following text: "Firmware approved for installation Models ... . So, there's your latest build (with Nougat, EMUI 5).
For further information about FirmwareFinder and how to use it please check the forum or ask google.
Here is what I did:
In firmware finder indeed it recognized my phone as EVA-L09C25.
1) Click the refresh button.
2) First two firmwares said not approved for installation.
3) 3rd on the list: Firmware aproved for installation Models for Installation: VIE-L09C25B320. Shouldn't be EVA-L09?
4) Tried downloading with firmware finder proxy, download stops at 74%, and closes updater.
5) Tried downloading the zip file and extracting the UPDATE.APP and copied it to the root of the SD Card in the dload folder.
6) Started the update on reboot it says that the firmware is not compatible.
What else should I try?
Well, I've seen what you mean. Very strange. I can only assume that it's caused by C25. It's not even listed in the cust list here https://www.huaweiblog.de/firmware-update-was-bedeutet-cust-emui-und-co/ (german).
Sorry, that I don't know more.
Hello everyone !
I had a battery drain issue so I wanted to try and change the software before resorting to a battery change, but now my phone is stuck at L09 C900B300 build and it used to be factory L09C432B504. I tried downloading the full package for 501 but the phone does not want to install it as it was "invalid".
Any ideas how I can force the b501 update on the phone ? It's hard to use ADB since the USB-C port on the phone is very worn out and it only maintains data-transfer in a certain position, if it gets shifted even a little bit it breaks the connection.
Thanks in advance !

You did a rollback and you cannot instal Nougat directly back
You must install c432b182 Marshmallow and then let it update by OTAs (with SIM card) to b50x
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73131443&postcount=321
Steps 4-9 apply to you (since you are already on c900b300)
---
Don't know what does it mean to you that you changed the software
If you rebranded from c432 to another cust, then you must also rebrand back to c432 by flashing its OEMINFO:

NOTE: Just saw you previously asked questions about P9 Lite
Pls be aware, this is Huawei P9 subforum, not for P9 Lite (different hardware, different firmwares)
The answer above with links/guides applies to P9, not to P9 Lite
If your question was for P9 Lite, please better search and ask on XDA P9 Lite subforum
Hey !
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried to follow the steps but I need to have the bootloader unlocked and it is discontinued by huawei, and in order to get the code from DC unlocker I need to invest a certain amount of money (id rather hand the phone over to a professional service and pay them and know that I have a fixed phone).
The other issue of the phone is that I cannot open the manufacturer mode on the phone using *#*#2846579#*#* since it does nothing, and I cannot use the calculator since this software does not have a calculator, it doesn't even have a camera app....
So I have contacted huawei support in hopes of getting the bootloader code but I do not hope for too much at this point. What are my other options at this point of handling this on my own ?
Looking forward to your response !

AFAIK, 'certain amount of money' for Bootloader code from DC Unlocker is only 4 Euros
If you search on XDA (various phones, just about Bootloader unlocking) you may find more online services (several months ago I've seen in some post), but they were more expensive
IMO, you don't need unlocked Bootloader if you are just following the first link, for dload-ing c432b182 without flashing oeminfo....
Update:
Okay the b182 package does not require unlocked bootloader which is great, it took the update and started going up all the way to b395 but it stopped there, no further OTA updates... It is okay to use at this point but I'm still curious to know if there is a way to get to it to update to the b50x version. I did try to use the small update for the b501 but the phone declined it.
Still thank you very much for guiding me through this ! This is a huge weight off my shoulders !

In Firmware Finder they have a new method based on eRecovery and changing the DNS server on your local WLAN AP
b50x must be showing as Approved to you for that method
It does not require Bootloader unlocked but no guarantee it would work (I tried with P9 rebranded to AL10 Oreo, managed to change DNS server address, eRecovery connected to but failed to update firmware that way)
There HWOTA method (in few variants) to install FullOTA-MF from Firmware Finder, but unlocked Bootloader is required
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787156&postcount=3
Btw, if you ever unlocked Bootloader on that phone, just use the same code again (one must save always save the code for future needs)
As of recently there are some Huawei service firmware installations available, that also install by dload (not needed to have Bootloader unlocked)

When you download, you will need to unzip
Find Docs and Software subfolders (you may need to untar and unzip Software subfolder again)
In Docs folder there must be Huawei official guide how to install, check if it describes dload method (and what must be un-archived and copied to SD card dload folder from the Software subfloder)
I didn't use it for L09c432 but I successfully unbricked a P9 rebranded to AL10c00 (back to AL10c00 firmware) by such a package, really easy by dload, just by following their HowTo doc from the Docs subfolder
