Is anyone developing Android Go for Moto G 2014 model ?
A request to the developers, please develop it for this device . It is much needed. I have tried many ROMs but almost all of them starts lagging after a week of using it.
Thanks.

Good luck with that has its just a poll asking if he should start building Lineage 15 with Go Edition config instead of regular config. So far more people have voted against Go Edition. There is no actual Go Edition builds for titan.

I see it now, apparently it is not labeled as Go Edition (as one would expect), thus the confusion. Here's the link so that others wont get confused: lineage-15.1-20171209_143404-UNOFFICIAL-titan.zip

Is it really a go edition ?
Pixel experience 8.1 official is out ?
Um unnoficial Pixel Experience 8.1.0
I m still looking for the related thread for the Go Edition.
I have been able to find the repo on AFH and there are two folders 15.0 and 15.1. The last build of 15.0 is on 4th of DEC 2017. After that only 15.1. Not sure if 15.1 is the Go edition or regular as the file size is almost close.
This is the link for 15.1 Builds.
The build shared in previous page (lineage-15.1-20171209_143404-UNOFFICIAL-titan.zip) is available in this folder and it has beed mentioned previously it is GO version without the GO naming.

Ok, this is the thread by the developer and he is referencing to the same folder. Go has not been explicitly mentioned there.

Check Luk1337's post. It has 2 links. One is AFH and the other is poll. Go version might still be in the AFH link if you're not too late already.
Android Go version is named this
"lineage-15.1-20171209_143404-UNOFFICIAL-titan.zip"
And how do i know systemu is it go edition?? I see normal android 8.1 -15.1 lineage, i download what you post, version
20171209_143404
I only saw 3 posts of people who have tried the go build of LOS15.1. Its sad that its been seen as not feasible. So there was one guy complaining how animation looked worse and made the phone cheap. By todays standards its already a cheap low end phone. I would not care as this is not my daily driver anyway. I just need an optimized OS for the simplest tasks without any lagging.
those who want Oreo GO version just download the latest version of LineageOS 15.1 titan oreo rom after that flash oreo addon file thats it guyz all the link given.......follow the LINK = https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73900030&postcount=408
how good is this go version? I just got a moto g2014 non lte. and wanted to install some custom roms, how about this rom bugs?

i noticed that a lot of projects on android.googlesource.com already have the android-m tag, including
plataform/system/core
plataform/build
plataform/frameworks/base
so i think if these non gpl projects are updated with M code, is the source code fully complete? can anyone check if we can already update and build M roms?
I pulled the source via repo, but I haven't got around to a build yet.

Would you be able to build roms off of M source? Is it enough source or is it better to wait for new update and factory images? Since the bootloader and radio is the same as that of 5.1.1 shouldn't gapps work?

gapps relly on the system framework (sdk), radio and bootloader rely on nothing, they control the device in a really low level state, in fact the bootloader is the lowest level, since it starts the kernel.
Sometimes radios/bootloader causes issuses depending on the combination but thats because of the blobs system wise, not because of the os version.
And gapps were updated on M

Anyway, I've seen some component gets android-m-preview tag. Google might be pushing it real soon.

M preview is 5.1.x for sure. Look at the SDK number : 22, like Android 5.1
I'm almost sure you can build Android M from AOSP, and thats why :
I know the difference between Android 5.1.1 and M is very little, just a few adds, i seen somewhere, speaking of less than 20MB of changed files.. So, try to sync a repo with Android 5.1.1 AOSP, and add the M commits and try to build, to see.
If it builds for Nexus 5, so i can be built for any other device supported by AOSP 5.1.1.

Thanks for pointing out ! I totally missed the point that the SDK version is still 22.
I'll try rebuilding M again, the fault could be on my side.
So will this be a build off of 5.1.1 and M if it can be done?

This is what member defconoi says about doing a port for the N4. All that needs to be done is to take the nexus 5 image and replace the binaries with the mako binaries preview and then use the nexus 4 m kernel. That's what I did when porting L. I don't know if this can be of any help pertaining to our N5

just remember, the n4 dosen´t have an updated kernel source tree with M tag, just the binary, so you guys will need to update the ramdisk for M

I think a combo build with 5.1.1 - M is possible, adding M commits to a 5.1.1 source code, and then, try to build.

Indeed, I recommend folks clone this:
https://github.com/jcadduono/android_kernel_zte_msm8996/commits/stock-6.0
It's merged into CAF and allows future CAF merges without any issues. I updated it just the other day. Very clean kernel from ZTE, I've been really impressed.
From my stock-6.0 branch you can just run ./build.sh to compile a Image.gz and ./dtbgen.sh is automatically run after build to create a dtb.img.
I dont recommend using Image.gz-dtb as dtb building was not correctly set up by ZTE and I haven't bothered fixing it. Separated dtb.img works great though.
DEFCONFIG=zte_defconfig
DEVICE_DEFCONFIG=device_ailsa_ii
Otherwise you can use opensource-caf branch which is pure ZTE with no build modifications or scripts from me.
As for flashing kernels you build, check out LazyFlasher installer at:
https://github.com/jcadduono/lazyflasher
It will dynamically replace kernel image and dtb, and has a folder to put patch shell scripts. dm verity and forced encryption disabling already included as an example. Supports LZ4, Gzip, Bzip2, and LZO so far. Readme has more info. Avoids the need to constantly update ramdisks, and other branches have examples of things like SuperSU policy mod.
Hey guys, I am a developer thinking of buying this great cell phone. I've never tried to develop kernels or ROMs but I would love to learn and contribute to this community.
How could be the easiest way to learn and to start working in things related with this phone?
Thanks.
Thanks a lot for all the info!
@TeutonJon78 Maybe it would be beneficial to add these infos to the OP?
So...now we have two competing TWRP/device tree setups. @jcadduono and @Unjustified Dev it might make sense to keep them similar as make sure there aren't competing versions running around and making support harder.
Edit: I also updated the title of the thread to reference a more generic change -- just listing all known github resources.

Well first of all you need the cellphone but it is heavily back-ordered, you can pre-order it now and you might or might not get it on 09/09/16.
I pre-ordered a month ago so I'll get my Gray Axon 7 on monday 08/22/16 (already have the tracking number), I would be willing to sacrifice it (selling it to you) if you want it, for the full price of course ($400 plus shipping). No means to sell anything, I'm not here to sell phones BUT if it is for a developer I'll do it and sacrifice a couple more weeks of wait time. All for the team.

We want to try that build, beta, alpha or wathever it is. We just want to try it, feel nougat in our hands, we want a download link for that build, even if it isn't stable, daily usable and public. We want that, we must have that.

WOW! This is the first build of Lineage that works great on my tab! Didn't test fingerprint but autobrightness and camera is working great. Thank a lot. On T710 by the way.
See my signature for twrp 3.1.1-0 for both gts28wifi and gts28ltexx.
Please note that twrp 3.2.0-0 has just been released! I'll be working on bringing it up to the Galaxy Tab S2 2015 tablets as soon as possible
On a related matter, I own a 9.7 wifi variant and I build for it daily. Netflix doesn't work with the official gts2-common repo, but if you use mine it will. I kept a long since abandoned fix which has worked very well in my builds.
Do we need gapps, thank you sooooooo much for this!!!!

I flash pico on my phone and tablet, but even stock or higher should work if the builds are from official sources. I also recommend Magisk if you wish to root. If these builds have su root, Magisk simply uninstalls it before installing itself.
bonuzzz, you did what most (self proclaimed) devs failed to achieve and deliver for the T710/715 in the last months! i just installed the ROM and tried it out the last few hours. finally got a clean and reliable android for my T710.
it's working really smooth, no issues so far. everything - including bluetooth and fingerprint - is working perfectly [edit: haven't tried it, since not needed: according to some posts in this thread stock camera doesn't seem to be working properly]. i am really anstonished and amazed by this great initial release, thanks a lot. i hope you keep on delivering such a good work.
many thanks and best regards from germany
For me on my T710 the microphone did not work. So it isn't in perfect working order yet and the battery drains quite fast, but it's miles better than the previously shared builds here on XDA, and most certainly usable.
I also had issues with certain apps not working properly, so I ended up going back to stock for now. (more precisely: the Antutu 3D part and the Focus gallery application).
TWRP 3.2.0-0 for gts28wifi and gts28ltexx!

Sorry if twrp is spam. Best of luck fiddling around with lineage recovery. For everyone's sake, I hope that Netflix works on your builds.
Thanks a lot for this build. An important progress for the T710/T715.
And also thx for the current TWRP link @ripee, missed that one.
Camera app force closed. Dont save any pictures
If you use a third party app like open camera, it actually works really well.
Either way, the microphone doesn't work at all, as in all roms for this device, and sadly it is a deal breaker for me since I use my tablet for video calls all the time.

open camera same problem.
My twrp recovery is old. I update this and I will try again
Having used this ROM for the last few days on a T710, I experienced a very stable system. UI was always smooth, no serious issues so far. :good:
However, I observed some strange behaviours/minor issues:
Fingerprint unlock isn't always working reliably. Sometimes, when trying to unlock the lockscreen, the finger on the fingerprint sensor doesn't seem to be detected and the PIN has to be entered manually.
LiveDisplay is not always active when the device comes from sleep and has to be unlocked. Upon the next sleep/active via short press on the power button iteration, the LiveDisplay mostly works as expected.
Once, presumably a wakelock drained the battery throughout the day until it was empty and the device turned itself off. I don't know why this happened and can't reproduce it.
Altogether a very successful start for this ROM, I will keep it on my device and hope the dev keeps on working on it to further improve it or even update to Lineage 15.x...
Thanks, @bonuzzz!
Sorry for intruding again, but we are about to get official TWRP support! I've been asked to test the "release candidate" images. As I don't have either a gts28wifi or gts28ltexx, I'd like to post the links here and ask for feedback. I'll create a separate TWRP thread once I confirm that these twrp builds work. I apologize again:

Hi! I tested gts28wifi for my SM-T700 but touch sensor is wrong. The interface is unusable for now. Best of luck. But you should start your own thread...

What would be the point of a dedicated thread if it doesn't work? Anyway, thanks for your feedback.

The point is,..
If your building it, wouldn't you want it all together so you could track it easier? Now you'll need to read all the threads that you've posted this into to find the results.
I know we all appreciate you doing this. But please make your own thread for it so we can all see what's going on. Without having to read through the 4+ threads this is in.
Keep it up. It's nice to see our tabs still getting some love. Thank you. ?

Not even a year old and I feel like there is nothing going on with this phone not even from Motorola themselves, haven't had any updates since April 1st, and no custom roms or anything really.
I know Josh has worked very hard at getting TWRP on this phone and credit to him, just a shame the community is almost non existent

Seeing as how this phone already has TWRP, and can be rooted. I'm downloading the source code for Lineage OS 16 right now. I'll be building it for the G7 Plus when it's finished downloading. However, I'm on my laptop which isn't exactly powerful, so it will take a while.
Never has been anything going on with this device! That's why I got myself a Poco F1 for messing about with :+) (and this device is just too slow in any case)

Which is why I'm building Lineage OS for the phone. Give me about a week or 2 and I'l have lineage OS 16 working.
Thanks! I'm eager to try it out!

Check out our new G7 - River Development & Discussion Group. Most if not ALL Custom work will be released for testing : @MotoG7RiverDiscussion
In my last Group I created for the Essential PH-1 took off and is still running strong with over 500 members.
Don't forget, this device is still very new and let's say Un-Developed, but give it a little time...

Thanks! I'm waiting on the kernel to be finished. It only compiles to about 99%, then it fails. I'm waiting on someone to finish! Then I'll have lineage compiled within a day or so after they're done.

Do you have any guides for building or porting a ROM? All the ones I found are at least 3 years old.
I want to try building ROM's for the 2017 Galaxy A3 though.
