[HELP] Unlock Bootloader without Mi Account - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Questions & Answers

Hey guys
this is my first time using MUIU
I brought a MI MAX 2 from a guy that i met during an event.
He told me that he doent remember the password and brought another phone
as i know about twrp and blabla
i brought it with a low price, but i'm able to bypass the mi account but since i get online it locks. (Now i'm thinking its stole)
i was able to go to dev options and enable OEM Unlock and USB DEBUG.
with this can i flash twrp? or something to get rid off the miui account?

The whole purpose of bootloader and the Mi Account is to keep your phone safe. So, without Mi Account, you can't unlock the bootloader and vice versa. EDIT: Also, he doesn't remember the password is completely stupid, becuase when you create a Mi account you need a mobile phone number and E-mail, so you can approve your account, and also in case of somehow magicaly loosing the password, you can recover it by using the data you provide while creating an account.

but since i have OEM UNLOCK option means that my bootloader is unlocked?

to be sure if the phone is unlocked, check the phone while it is rebooting. if you see the word "unlocked" at the center/bottom part of the phone, then you're in luck, but otherwise, then no go for twrp.

No, it doesn't. As already a member wrote to you, you would have "Unlocked" word, under the logo when you turn on your phone. IF that is a case, than your phone is unlocked already, if there is nothing, then sorry.

You can bypass account using MiracleBox, you can watch it on youtube.

Unable to unlock bootloader

Hello everybody,
For Christmas I have received a new Xiaomi Mi 5X but I wanted to install a Xiaomi.eu rom. I asked for permission to unlock the bootloader, I have added my account in developer options, I have enabled OEM unlocking and I have downloaded Mi Unlock. But when I open it and sign in with the account I added on the phone it checks if I have the permission and then it says that my device is not supported by Mi Unlock. So now I have the Chinese stable but I hate all that bloatware and wanted to know what can I do to unlock the bootloader.
Thank you
maybe i can give you a account to unlock the device. but i am not sure whether you can log in. because i am not log for a long time.
Need help

Relock bootloader for account bound

Hi guys. I would like to know a thing:
I have bought a Mi 8 already unlocked from a shop. If I want to relock the bootloader again and bound my account to it, for future unlocks in case of wrong flash with Mi Flash (default flash mode is: "clean all and relock", that I can also omit to see for error), can I flash China without incurring in a brick? Because the phone will be delivered to me with Global Rom (that I know generate a brick with relocked bootloader).
Thanks to who will answer me.
I have the same question... It's possible change the account used for the bootloader unlock?

Without any other method to do this, we can only relock bootloader and follow the common way to unlock it with own account.

I purchased a Xiaomi mi 8 with unlocked bootloader without notice from the reseller. The outcome when I updated with miflash was a bricked phone. When I tried to use miunlock I saw a message that my phone is not bound to this account.

Mhh... Seems you have used the third option of Mi Flash (clean all and relock).
Have you tried to relock bootloader with China ROM or Global ROM?

Nothing seems to work. I can change Roms using adb sideload but the problem is that always is a bootloop.

I am using xiaomiadb.exe . You boot in recovery mode and then you drag and drop the rom over xiaomiadb. Pc suit sees the version. I have managed this way to change many roms, but the main problem is the boot loop.

Yes, I have tried everything I could think of. I am afraid that the only solution is to use Mi unlock, but I can't to that because the reseller send me the phone with unlocked bootloader. The program checks at the begging if I have permissions, then checks if the phone is a Mi 8, it passes that test too, but the message I get then is that this phone is not bound to this account.

I have asked Xiaomi Global service about that. They don't offer support. They don't recognize the Chinese e-shops as authorized resellers. And I suppose that a phone can't be bound to two accounts. The only thing I can say for sure is that the global version has a red label on the box and the manual is in English. Watch the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nx-jjTVh_8&t=107s

So it can't be possible to flash anything (also China, that was the born ROM of this phone) with option "Clean all and relock" of Mi Flash, without incurring in a bootloop?
The fact is that you can bound the phone to every account, if you can boot it with locked bootloader.
But if this can't be done, developer options menu will show you that bootloader is already unlocked, without possibility of bound your own account.
Oh wait, you can't use mi flash because your account it's not authorized for EDL.
Now I have understand because you can't relock bootloader. ?

When miunlock starts it checks if I have permission for EDL. It passes the test. But then it says that my phone is not bound to my account. The bootloader was unlocked so I suppose someone has bound my phone with his account.

Ok, so you can't use Mi Flash.
Now it's all clear.
Thanks for your explanation. ?
I'm having an idea ... My device is about to arrive. It will be a Chinese variant with bootloader unlocked by the store for installation of a global ROM. So if I flashed a Chinese ROM again, I could re-block the bootloader, correct? So I will boot the phone with the blocked bootloader in the Chinese ROM and I can associate my account and unlock the bootloader again, only this time with my own account. Would it work?
Sorry for my english, I'm using the Google Tradutor.

The problem is that you need to bound your account to your Mi 8, otherwise you can't use Mi Flash to relock your phone.
And you also can't lock it by fastboot, because this operation delete recovery and system partitions, generating a total brick.
Unfortunately my current Mi Max 2 was one of these unlucky phones, and I have learn lesson myself.
The best thing that you can do is:
Use last version of Mi PC Suite 3 to flash global and twrp to flash custom, and if you need to return on global from twrp, just flash original Xiaomi recovery and reuse Mi PC Suite 3.

Υοu're welcome. It's my first ever Xiaomi but I think that for a while because it's a new phone of the market we must leave it untouched for a while. I mean rooting, custom roms, e.t.c.

Xiaomi has arrived to Europe, but Chinese version still continue to be less expensive (and interesting), but unfortunately not excluded from this type of inconveniences.

K20 PRO the system has been destroyed, help-me

I have one K20 PRO, when i turn on show "the system has been destroyed", this message show after flashed one global rom with box "flash all and lock" checked.
The bootloader is locked, and i tried flash stock rom on EDL Mode with MI Flash but i dont have one authorized account.
Help me please.

I guess you should try unlocking the Bootloader again...It takes couple of days though. With the Corona virus being a thing in China it might take you a century to get a response, that is, if you ever receive one.

If the phone is bound to your own Mi account and you had already unlocked the bootloader yourself before, then you should be able to unlock the bootloader again, then flash an official ROM WITHOUT locking the bootloader.
If you bought the phone with the bootloader unlocked and you've never bound it to your own Mi account, then EDL flashing with an authorised account is the only way. The problem lately is that people are now finding it hard to find someone with an authorised account to do the EDL flash. If you live somewhere near an authorised Xiaomi service centre, then you could plead with them to flash it.

Unlock K20 Pro bootloader

Hello everyone.
I flashed a global ROM into my K20 Pro and accidentally checked for clean & lock in MiFlash.
Now I cannot flash any ROM, the phone doesn't boot into the OS, and cannot re unlock the bootloader.
I heard about some Qulacomm tools that might help flash some images but I didn't find anything.
Please guide me toward unlocking the bootloader back.

If you unlocked the phone yourself before, then you can unlock It again. If you bought the phone already unlocked and have never bound the phone to your Mi account, then you can only fix it by EDL flashing, which needs an authorised Mi account. Try contacting a local Mi service centre if there is one, or contacting Xiaomi support online.
Alternatively try and find someone with an authorised account who can flash it remotely, for a fee, though these are getting harder to find.

If you search this section and the guides section for hard brick posts you'll find WhatsApp numbers for people who could do this, but I've read at least one of these people no longer do it. If you see anything about S-Unlock, ignore it, they no longer can unlock Xiaomi phones.

Question How to prepare to sell a CN version Mi 11 Ultra

I unlocked the bootloader and currently have the EU firmware on my phone. How do I ensure my Mi account is not associated with the phone anymore or the unlocked bootloader? Is it best to reinstall the CN version and lock the bootloader again before I sell it? TIA!
Going to settings/MiAccount and signing out. After this, perform factory reset. That should suffice.
Thanks. Wasn't sure if somehow it would remain attached to the account used to unlock it.

Might be tricky if the next guy wants to unlock it with a new mi account but I wouldn't worry about it, just put it on eBay or something!
