Everything is in the title, is it possible to prevent access to the notification panel when the P10 is locked. I had an option like that on my last Xiaomi, but I can not find it on the huawei. Thank you in advance.
sorry, maybe dump question, why would someone need that?
I use this app called Smart Lockscreen Protector. It allows you present access to the notifications and power off screen while the phone is locked. You're going to have to install the apk because it's not apparently compatible with the P10 but it works fine on mine
I prefer to keep control over some functions like Bluetooth activation, switching to silent mode. Thank you for your answers.

so you fear that someone who get access to your phone can turn bluetooth and switch your phone to silent mode?
why would someone do that? I am not offensive i just try to understand.

yes I'm afraid lol. Are you serious ? What are these questions ??
I am serious. I try to understand why do someone need that.
I personally like it, because i can activate bluetooth (when i go to my car), or NFC (when i use Android pay or get BT connection) without even unlocking the device.
In reality, it's mostly the fact of having lost that option and habit that I had on my xiaomi. Knowing that someone can access these options annoys me, without scare me lol. I have become so used to unlocking my phone (which is very fast on the P10) that I do not find it interesting to have access to this status bar from the lock screen. Nevertheless, I understand that you may need this access. I hope that answers your question.

Hello to all of you!
Happy new year first of all!
Since a few days i'm using the Built in lock from WM and the Phone Canvas posted here on the Diamond Thread. Previously I've used TouchLockPro, but somehow it didn't work properly for me...
Right now I have a problem with it, I've configured with Advanced Config Tool form Schaps a timeout to lock my device automatically so when I don't touch my device 30 sec or press the power button, It will lock...
But....also in a call or something, which is very annoying because to end the call I have to unlock first AND my phoneskin is gone as well.....
So summarised:
Does anybody know how to automatically lock my phone like it should do, except while in a call??
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards
Jeroen
p.s. mods, if this item has already been discussed, can you please erase this Thread then??

I dont use the built in lock from windows anymore (i used to have your problem). Instead i now use S2U2 (Scroll 2 Unlock) and this doesnt lock during a call. One of the best apps i have on the phone - and its freeware!

I'd rather stick to the standard lock app from WM, because S2U2 is quite big app to load into memory and for me it drains my battery quicker...(at least, that's my opinion)
Thanks anyway...I hope somebody else knows how to solve this.....

Hello,
Please can you clarify your problems? Does the phone always lock itself in a call? What do you mean your phone skin is gone? When did it go?

Hi Dave!
Well the problem is actually caused by ACT 3.2 from Schaps I think.....I've configured the keylock from Windows Mobile to lock itself automatically after a period of inactivity OR when I press the powerbutton to suspend the the device, and after that my phone is locked! But even WITHIN a call, my device will become locked with the specified timeout and will make my phoneskin dissapear and let it go back to the homescreen!
If I want to hang up then, I have to UNLOCK my device and then TAP on the phone icon which appears next to my Signal strength Icon....THAN the phoneskin will reappear and THEN I can hang up the call.....
Hope you'll know by now what I mean...
It's driving me crazy, because I really fancy the automatic lock........
Thanxx anyway
Jeroen
in the advanced config thing or diamond tweak theres an option for lock with "light sensor while in call" or something like that. disable it. and ur set. its annoying as hell, i accidentally played with that feature and it annoyed the crap outta me until i finally found what it was.
in diamond tweak, it should be in the first section of the thing, u dont need to even scroll. i forgot about advanced config cause i dont use it.
edit: option is called "light sensor" but the description talks about it for use during phone calls.

Hi Jeroen,
The problem is not caused by Schaps ACT because that just enables and disables WM features by changing the normal registry entries used by WM.
The problem is some combination of your ROM and your dialer skin not playing nicely with the auto-lock feature. Try removing the dialer skin to see if that helps. If it does help then there may be another, similar phone skin you can use instead.
Ok, I've done a bit more investigation into this issue. I don't use auto-lock normally so I've tried it out. I can confirm it locks during my calls too.
You have a least a couple of options -
1) Don't use auto-lock. You could lock the phone with the left soft key like I do.
2) Don't switch off the screen during a call. There are two settings in Schaps ACT to prevent the screen shutting of automatically and this version of the phone skin has the in-call locking curtain:

Hi Davey101
Thanks for your help in advance! I really appreciate it
I do use the Nosleep!.cab file to prevent my screen from going off during a call, so that would not be the cause....I think I just have to turn off the phoneskin, OR do it manually
Off course...I rather prefer to leave the auto-lock function active, but if it's not gonna work, I have to face it
Cheers mate!

Hi everyone
Re-posting this from the general section (posted on there by mistake, was still half asleep lol, sorry)
Just got the xperia z yesterday (after my previous lg 4x was stolen... grrr... may the thief get permanent bursting hemorroids...) and I noticed a weird thing.
The mute/vibrate/sound toggle in the notification bar does not seem to work, and the same goes for the one in the popup shown by pressing the power button for a couple seconds.
Details: the mute or vibrate icon appears on the notification bar, but if I check the volumes in settings, they're still all on, and if I receive a call or get a notification or whatever, the phone actually rings despite the supposedly muted state.
All this doesn't happen if I "manually" turn the volume off with the volume buttons or via settings: in that case the vibrate icon appears and the phone actually does not ring.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
All good here dude. Hope you get it fixed. Have you tried turning phone off and on again? That usualy fixes small.glitches.

Yep, already tried that of course, as well as uninstalling the one widget I have that interacts with volumes, just to be sure it was not some weird conflict (and of course it wasn't)
Not a biggie actually, as I can turn it down manually or by said widget, but I hope I'll figure it out anyway if only for the sake of understanding the source of the issue
Yep I understand that. Annoys me when I cant get something working lile its ment to.

I have a problem with the toggle in the notification bar and the power off menu. System settings show me notifications and ringtones are off, but the phone still has audible, unmuted notification sounds. Really annoying.

Heard about it, but haven't read the whole thing yet (yep, still being lazy)
Jokes apart, I was planning to leave it 100% stock for at least a little while to see how the battery behaves without even the slightest piece of modding (got the phone only last friday, today has been the first real "field test" for the battery and so far I'm pretty positively impressed)
Well I have already removes/frozen a bucketload of apps happy bunny, I am. Now I only need to figure out which app does what so I don't kill something and make my phone less usable.

lol I removed a few apps too, but luckily for me they were uninstallable without root or anything.
I also disabled a few more through the stock apps management, for the time being it's sufficient for my taste

Yes, having the same problem as well with mine. But it has been the same problem since I had ICS on my Xperia Arc S, then Xperia V and now this when I use the toggle in the notification bar or any other toggle aside from toggling it manually via setting. Very irritating since it has never and probably will never be fixed due to the fact that it's a cross-model issue. Chances are, those who say they don't have this problem already has it but don't know it yet or will get it eventually. Sony needs to iron this out once and for all
Forgive me if this was answered somewhere else, but I have not been able to find any information anywhere. I am not sure if my search terms are weak or what.
Okay, here is my question. How do I disable the auto-screen off feature? Meaning, when I hold the One in my hand and flick my wrist downward, the screen turns off by itself. I have looked into every setting on the phone but can not find any switch for it.
I am running OneDriod rom (cyanogenMod). I am unsure if the rom is causing this, as I remember it doing the same thing with stock.
Again, if this was answered elsewhere, feel free to delete/lock this thread. I was hesitant to even create this thread.

Thanks for the reply. I will be honest and say I have no idea if that is what it is. I have seen no reference to it on my phone or in any settings, etc. Though it seems my phone only turns off when I flick my wrist (or any other slight jerking action). However, it does not wake the phone up with a flick, it just turns the screen off. It is super annoying and I can not find the switch to turn it off.

I just upgraded to KitKat and was really disappointed to notice the alarm won't work any more when the phone is OFF.
That was a great feature, something I've always missed since I moved from Nokia to Android smartphones...
Is there a way to restore this functionality?

Did you try Airplane mode....?
I wonder why, WHY, in every thread about the alarm there is someone coming out with "Why don't you use airplane mode?"
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to be rude, but airplane mode and OFF are not the same thing.
The phone is still doing stuff, app are still running in background, power is used.
"But in airplane mode the battery usage is almost null..." yep, almost...
People get mad about the TV's LED staying on but then it's ok for the phone...
I think (as many other people do) that the alarm working when the phone is off is a great feature.
People have been complaining for years about the lack of this on Android. Some dug deep into hardware spreadsheets to prove it was possible while Google and the producers kept blaming each other.
Finally HTC made it, and now, no one knows why, with Android 4.4 they've removed the feature.
I don't want other "solutions", I'm asking if there is a way to restore the Alarm-when-the-phone-is-off functionality on 4.4.

Ok first off for the alarm to ring the phone is not fully off. IT is nothing more then being in airplane mode with the screen blacked out. As HTC removed it and Sense is closed sourced (this is fast boot related) there is no option to return it.

You would have to search deep as this is old knowledge from when it was first done on dumb phones back around the motor razor. It is not a new feature in the least. I am sure you can search around and dig up the info. You can test it yourself by running a logcat while you charge with power off.
After the EMUI 9.1 update if the phone is on screen lock for more than about 5 minutes, when we use the fingerprint reader to unlock the phone it plays the Notification Sound.
It never happened on 8.x or 9.0 and the sound really gives my wife the ****s (it's her phone).
I contacted Huawei support but as usual they were useless, gave me some settings to change (Settings/Sound/More Sound/Disable Screen Lock). It was already set to Disable, and always has been.
Their next suggestion was to do a reset of phone settings, that did nothing. So their final suggestion was a Factory Reset which "may help remove any software bug causing this issue". Really, resetting might remove bugs?
Has any else had this problem and managed to find a way to fix it without doing a factory reset?
I would bet it comes from an app (or apps) that is put to sleep/hibernated by the battery optimizer and throws suspended notifications once the phone is unlocked. Something in the "Apps -> Battery optimization" or "Battery -> App launch" or even "Battery -> More battery settings -> Stay connected when device sleeps" settings. You can also try and assign different notification sounds to different apps just for the fun of it, and check what exactly triggers that notification on unlock.

Thanks for your suggestions arty_a, I'll dig around to see if I can find anything like this.
There was a thread on the UK Huawei Community pages relating to this but it was shut down just after I found it and sent the info to Huawei support, so that avenue closed.
Worst case scenario is I actually do a factory reset; I grabbed the Bootloader Unlock code from the Huawei site before it shut down but she hasn't felt the need for the phone to be rooted, so I've held off. I'd rather solve this by finding out what the cause is, than do a full wipe and if it is caused by an app, find it come back after they are all reloaded. As there are a lot, having to do each one separately and wait 5min to unlock and learn if it's the culprit is too tedious for words!
Will update here if I learn anything useful ...
Well the hint from arty_a got me on my way. I disabled all the Battery Optimised apps but that didn't help, however I noticed after a noisy unlocking there was a notification ... turns out 9.1 was complaining about the GPS not being on for Location Services. As to why it doesn't always do it is anyone's guess (especially Huawei's).
Blocking the notification for this seems to have ended the problem, finally.
We have always been in the habit of keeping GPS off until we need it, a carry over from owning HTC Desires way back when GPS ate battery like crazy. OK not so bad on the P20 Pro, and never an issue until the 9.1 updates.
Thank you arty_a for pointing me in the right direction!
Glad to help, and thanks for posting your full solution, it might help someone in the future.

That's what I like about the spirit of XDA ... a community that helps the community; glad to have participated and learned something in the process.
It's been nearly a month now and not one instance of the unlock sound so she is thrilled. One of the consequences of the damned sound was she'd often put the phone on silent. Of course when I phoned she didn't know, causing many a heated exchange.
Problem solved, marriage saved!
