With my previous Galaxy S6, whenever my phone started charging (wired or wireless) it is vibrate a small amount to indicate that it started charging. Since I've received my Note 8, I've missed this vibrate indicator as I keep my phone on vibrate. Does anyone know of a way to enable this feature? I can't find the option anywhere in the settings.
In my note 8 I dont have that option, only to play a sound
I mentioned this ages ago, it don't vibrate when charger being plugged in. A step backwards.

If you like your phone to vibrate when plugged, you may use macrodroid to execute the vibration, control the on/off state of the screen, etc

I'm using the notification power widget buttons to change sound modes on my phone.
I usually tap it to change it to Silent at night (no vibration, no sound) but sometimes a call or a message would wake me up even though I had set the phone to silent.
I recently discovered that the phone changes to Sound+Vibrate at midnight. I'm using this ROM but I have no idea if that's what is causing the problem.
Anyone else has this issue?
Ever since Lollipop I have been frustrated with the lack of ability to turn off the phone's vibrate easily. I used to just set my phone to silent mode all the time (in fact, all day at work). Now my phone is probably louder than it would be otherwise simply because it's vibrating my whole freaking desk every time a notification comes across. I tried using tasker to just lower the volumes but you still can't turn off the vibrate. How in the world can I get this phone to simply show the notifications on the screen (or my Moto 360) without sound and without vibrating?
Also just to add, if I set my priority to None, it will be silent and still show the notifications on the screen, but then they won't show on my Moto 360. Ugh.
For 360-only notifications: Android Wear app -> Settings -> Mute phone alerts & calls
This way, your phone will be silent and your 360 will function as normal. However, this won't stop your 360 from vibrating.
Anybody know how to stop the phone from making that annoying noise (more annoying for my sleeping wife) that occurs when connecting a charger?
On my Z3C I used the Smart Connect app to mute the media volume in the evening that dealt with most things. But Smart Connect doesn't work (just crashes a lot) on the XZ1c and even if it did, the battery charging volume now seems to be linked to the ringer volume. So if you put it to vibrate the damn phone vibrates when you connect it up.
The only way I can see currently is to put the phone into complete silent mode, but that's no good as I still want to receive calls!
Well I asked Sony and they said you can no longer disable the charging noise. I guess their marketing department liked it. I've asked if it's functionality that can be reintroduced in the future, but I can't see that getting past their helpdesk.
Really rather annoying when I sneak in late at night to get "BING BING" when I plug my phone in.
A workaround is to mute the media volume.
I use an app called Media-mute to mute the media volume whenever the ringer is also muted. So whenever you need it to shut up, just mute your phone.
If you want it automated similar to what you did with Smart Connect, you can configure Android's Do-Not-Disturb feature to automatically kick in at night, which is what I currently do.
Alternatively, you can also try this other app that I use (Silent Mode Toggle) to create a widget on the homescreen for easy access and quickly toggle between modes.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: Thanks @Dashers below for pointing out that the charge sound effect is now tied to the ringer volume instead of the media volume as it had been in the past, I have tested and can confirm it.
The original text above without strike-through still holds true, so I'll leave it here.
It seems that it's not linked to media volume any more, but ringer volume. As if you put the ringer volume down, the phone will vibrate when you plug it in to charging. The only way to connect it up silently is to put the phone to alarms only or total silence.
I raised it with Sony and their response was basically "tough, that's how we do it now".
I am a long time user of Daydream mode (now renamed to Screen Saver) on my phones with a USB charging desk dock. It is very useful as a desk clock. Prior to Oreo my Pixel XL screen would wake up to the incoming call screen when a phone call came in. Now it turns the screen off and I can't see who is calling unless I take it off the dock and tap the power button.
I have had to tweak some stay awake and power options for other apps to work the way I want them to in Oreo, but haven't found anything to fix this. I have tried the stock Clock app as well as a few from the Play Store, but no difference. Has anyone figured this out or is it a bug in Oreo?
With Tasker, I have been able to wake my phone up to the lock screen when a call comes in, but not the incoming call screen, so I still can't see who's calling. I'm hoping that someone with more Tasker experience than me can help.

Anyone? I just want my phone to light up to the incoming call screen instead of turning off so I can see who is calling.
I know it's a very minor problem but it is one I would like to fix.
When I plug a charger in the screen lights up with the usual animation and the sound. This is too loud in the night so I would like to turn off the sound or disable it in some way.
This is a 9T pro unrooted and updated to MIUI 12.0.2.0. I have searched Google and there are some answers but they must relate to another MIUI as the options in Sound & vibration/Additional settings are different to the ones I see listed.
This is still an issue! Anyone out there with a solution?
Trying to bump this thread.
It's under "Sound reactions".
Mine never made any sound tbh
I finally hit upon an easy solution. Turn on 'do not disturb' setting, then plug in phone or place on charger dock. Then turn off the 'do not disturb' setting. The noise will not wake your household, and should an emergency call come in, you won't miss it. This solves my problem of late night charging. Who wants to stay up to turn sound back on?
