Hi,
just wanted you guys to know that phh's project treble AOSP build works on Huawei Mate 10 Pro (BLA29). Maybe some of you would also like to try it out.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/experimental-phh-treble-t3709659
pls try it at you own risk. I can only report that it's working on my device..
Thanks @phhusson

Nice !!!
Can you give us a detailed feedback ???
Well I'll try...
I don't really know what information you're out for the most.
The system runs without any major bugs yet, as long as you don't try to root it for example with the funkyhuawei method. I did as explained in phh's thread and flashed the "A only" system.img via fastboot. My former system was BLA-L29 8.0.0.127a(432). I attached some screenshots to prove that the system is running. The only bug I've noticed yet is a minor graphic glitch with Gboard's suggestions.
Please tell me what else you'd like me to tell you
I'm really new to development

Thank you for the information
So the steps are:unlock the bootloader and then flash this AOSP system image via fastboot? Then if we want to restore back to stock emui?

I noticed from your pictures that substratum is running, how is that working out?
Hey,
Is everything working bugfree, dual camera , fingerprint, etc ?
Don't try it because:
You can't change the level of the brightness, so then you want to go back to stock with erecovery right?
When i was trying to "download the new version and recovery" it always threw this error : huawei erecovery getting package info failed.
So because of my 2 days knowledge with Huawei device i scared and i bought with 50 euros the unbrick package from FunkyHuawei.
If i am wrong somewhere with erecovery please correct me.
Dunno but i'm seeing random guys with new accounts just to say that the AOSP rom works but they don't post bugs and the display bug that you can't change the brightness is serious and it's the first bug that you see for sure.
I don't know,something stinks here.
Substratum works out fine with Andromeda... I was finally able to center the clock. That point made me crazy about EMUI. Fingerprint and camera (all 3) are working flawless. The picture quality is same as good as Stock. Maybe I can post some pics here later the day. Bluetooth is working as well...
I'm sorry for any errors that appeared on other peoples devices I didn't experience any of them. This ROM is my daily driver now and I'm very happy with it. It's very smooth and RAM usage is much lower than EMUI, not to mention that there is about a hundred times less bloatware

You should tell people how to install it since you made the thread
It can all be read in the main thread of the phh-treble ROM. I just followed those instructions, as I mentioned..
And about the camera you are right I will correct me there. The selfie cam is very good but the dual cam does not reach Stock quality in the end. I will upload a few examples later

In fact I didn't root my phone at all. Just unlocked bootloader via fastboot, flashed the system.img and did a factory reset via Huawei recovery. There is, as far as I know, no working method to get root on the treble ROM for the mate 10 pro yet. I tried to use the funkyhuawei tool that I think uses kind of a script to patch the stock boot.img but it didn't work at all.
This is interesting, as I was using a Nokia 3 the other day and fell in love with pure stock Android all over again. Then I started looking at the Essential Phone or Nokia 8, but if I can get pure Oreo 8 running on my Mate 10.....
Will this do OTA updates ?
Can you get back to the standard Huawei Roms with little difficulty? I've generally used FunkyHuawei?
I don't really care about rooting.

Sigh::
I was about to flash this,
Till i heard that Camera quality sucks on this AOSP ROM,
This is what made me always stay on stock with every huawei devices i have
Luckily EMUI is getting "cleaner" each year, and fortunately it still keep it rich features,
Too bad they removed "LTE Only" option, what a bummer. My carrier run on full 4G, and LTE only option give better stability

This rom from SHARP is amazingly quite stable and fast. I have been using this rom for last 4-5 days & never faced restart except once. And I am getting better battery backup since i have rooted it n reduced cpu clock via set cpu. Do u have any more suggestions...so that i can get maximum out of this ROM. but really thanks to the person who uloaded this rom and helped us to enjoy this amazing Fb variant. And also thanks to TJ sir for providing recovery which enabled me to root this ROM.
Sadly I'm not having the same experience as you. There have been constant phone freeze, random loss of contact information and occasional self restarts since the last weekend.
Can you explain how exactly you went about updating it?

Sorry bro i really cant remember what steps i followed to install this rom but i think i reseted my handset cleared cache, cleared dalvik cache and restored factory settings. Then i just executed "download nb0 from sd card". But i think stock recovery of MI 410 does not help installing this rom. I used "napstar touch recovery" to install this rom. Which has option to boot into system recovery. But don't forget to backup the original image folder of stock MI410 rom before going for this Rom. Coz this step helps a lot, if anything goes wrong. If u have already installed this rom just factory reset it clear all caches.
Good Luck... We have so many experts on this forum some one will definitely help u.

Actually I made it for myself ..so it was made to remove both bloatwares n gapps ....since I had the latest gapps link. If u update gapps from market again it makes one more app in data section so only use latest gapps zip . I had plan to create a new one which is useful to remove unnecessary apps n other files from all available roms ...sharp,wellcom,Spice, etc. Its not a big deal ...the script actually mounts the system partion n deletes apps ...but the hard part is finding names of apps you want to remove and flash it again and again to see it wont mess up the rom.
Now ppl r looking at ics n am wondering should I spend time on this .. now am learning about compiling kernels n all

Some inbuilt apps like night time, uber music, I love them. Everything works fine. Even games runs very smothly
In an all its good ROM like RC2 with some optimized functionality
do you need patched boot.img ?
What is patched in boot.img? Android commander is just like a frontend for adb you just need debugging mode on in your device as afaik. Then it works with all the roms.

I mean.. one of my WellcoM A99 X6 had the crazy screen reverse axis issue and ??somehow?? this rom made the issue go away. No Rom's have the issue my phone has the issue. Its not the first WellcoM A99 X6 that ive had that has the issue either, I previously purchased another WellcoM A99 X6 which had the issue and i returned it to Thailand within the warranty period for a replacement. Unfortunately and more bizarrely this particular X6 acquired the issue after the warranty had expired so i had to live with it.
EVERY other Rom ive tried on this X6 eventually over a space of a week from fresh install resulted in me not being able to use the phone. Simply unlocking the phone from sleep was a nightmare it wasn't letting me drag the unlock all the way to the right, and wanted to do the opposite which is put the phone on silent.

+1 can this be used on CM9?
This will only work for this special ROM I think or am I wrong?

For all of you guys facing the problem in call cant hear, this error or bug is not belong to any kernel or modem, there is something wrong in framework, in all cases ive managed to fixed it, all what you have to do is to copy these two files into:
\system\framework before you flash the rom and thats it
the files are:
framework.jar
framework-res.apk

But thanks! Will flash back 1.5a tonight
Flashable zip
As a person who was getting bugged of this in call problem, after trying everything and anything possible, i found this thread. The recompiled fw files does eliminate in-call sound problem. To save yourself from the hassle of replacing files while on rom and causing a soft reboot Or having to replace files in rom zip and flash the whole rom again, here is a flashable zip.
I haven't tested it. Please tell if it works.
EDIT: Removed. OP has uploaded a zip.

I am really sorry to inform you that I can't say what differences take place simply coz I am not a developer, I'm just a normal from lover to edit and mess with it, so I kept trying on flashing till I got this work....I flashed the rom around 12 times till I find that the problem is with the framework and I got the frameworks from an old rom

I hope all is well with your family. A year ago I had to spend 3 weeks at the hospital (neonatal) because my daughter was born prematurely.

I wanted to confirm what kind of bug you were experiencing and corrected.
Was this the bug where sometimes or all the time you could not hear sound while in call? For example you could not hear the other person on the line but they could hear you? You couldn't hear a ring when making a call?

oh, thats hurt as a small baby, i bet now she is in great form, God bless and protect her.
thats exactly the problem i neither hear the caller nor he hear me..as i said it was a problem with framework, and since im not able to open the framework to fix it i just borrow it from the old version of rom
I'm also interested in hearing if this is indeed a final solution. From what I understand, the patch actually changes nothing of significance in framework.jar, and in framework-res.apk only a lot of icons are changed.
There's a lot of users with a call sound problem here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721604
And it seems the problem triggers and fixes itself when modifying stuff in /system - and no one has really managed to pin down exactly when and why.
Could it be that this patch is also just a coincidence?
Sometimes the problem is also fixed by rebooting and/or removing the battery. Flashing stock ROM apparently always fixes the problem.
This problem seems really strange (if it's indeed not a hardware problem). Why would random changes to /system do anything like this?

She was actually always healthy, just small. She is still small for her age but that gets better with time.
Thank you for taking the time to fix this issue. I hope this correction could be added to the other roms.

indie, I can't send blowjobs through the internet so a donation would have to do! Please integrate this fix on your roms!!11!!
Howdy all 5830i users.
Recently, i´ve tried installing TouchWiz-Resurrection ROM to my machine. It´s very fast and stable rom, BUT, as far as i found out, it has few issues that you might encounter after installing it.
First of all, bare installation :
It´s clasic Clear/Wipe Data,>> Clear/Wipe Cache >>Advanced in CWM recovery >> Clear/Wipe Dalvik cache >> installing from zip (you can find this rom here on xda).
Right after you reboot your system, you might get stuck in a bootloop. This happens quite often, but dont worry, load up recovery mode and Clear/Wipe Cache and then reboot.
Second thing you might encounter is a missing camera .
This might be easily fixed by adding stock camera.apk file (throughout Root Explorer) to system/app folder.
camera.apk file (thanks to srt99)
Set permissions for camera.apk like this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Third one
i encountered is, that if you install this app, it might not be compatibile with kernel and camera setting will have GIANT FONT therefore i suggest installing this one (its Rafael Baugis Kernel and it allows you to use different frequencies ). After installing just reboot. You can find the kernel bellow in attached files.
4th one is annoying.
Default sound for alarm is always set to silent, therefore you have to change it specificaly in each one of new alarms. I solved this by installing Alarm Clock app from Google Play.
And the final one got me. It´s a bug, and this rom can´t sometimes find contacts on SIM card. You can either reflash (but i don´t know if this helps) or you can export your contacts to gmail or SD card and then import them back.
Well, these are just the ones i´ve encountered, hope this helps someone.
And a huge thanks to Sniper Killer for this rom
Contacts bug sim is due to the use of custom kernel.

No i don´t mind. I´m new to all the android stuff and in past week i started testing a few custom roms. And since there is a possibillity that i wont stay with one rom (in this case this one) for a long time, it´s always nice to have all the info and fixes in one place in a case of returning to that particular rom (well, maybe my brain capacity is not large enought, but i cant realy remember every solution for every particular rom ) without additional googling or thread searching. So i decided to make this thread in a case more newbies like me will experience the same issues and on the second note, for me as a memo and a learning thread .

Installing Rafael's kernel gives more stability and performance. Init.d scripts won't work without the custom kernel. Neither big camera's settings.
Actually there's a workround for SIM Contacts bug. You should install the ROM from XK555 frimware or even VJCKL or something like that. A user reported this long time ago but personally I was lazy to test. It might be useful to you or any other.
As for camera, while editing the ROM i saw that the camera's icon wasn't changed. So i changed it on mobile using NinjaMorph due to computer issues. Everyone knows that replacing pngs on camera app is going to result on losing it. I forgot about that and uploaded the ROM without testing.
The alarm's clock can be set manually when you set an alarm.
And the rest is on the Useful Utilities post on the OP.
Anyway, thanks for clarifying those things!

Thanks for answering. Camera thing is realy easy to fix, so it doesn´t matter I think by "alarm´s clock can...." you meant "alarm sounds can ...", yes, alarm sound can be changed when setting alarm, but it´s realy annoying to set a tone for every particular alarm, so it´s easier to use an app. What i kinda don´t get is your solution for SIM contacts. What do you mean by installing those roms ? It would flash the one by you, or not ?

Hey Everyone! I'm proud to present to you the first custom rom for the Xperia Z3V. I've been hard at work on this for almost a month now, ever since purchasing my Xperia Z3V. I realize we have limitations due to our locked bootloaders, but I was surprised to see I was alone in the development world for this device. I'm not sure if we are going to receive a Lollipop OTA ever, so I decided to cook up a ROM that looked like Lollipop. I'd like to give a huge thank you and shoutout to @GigaSPX for test driving an early build of this.
ROM Features:
Stock Based Rom from firmware 23.0.E.1.44
Deodexed
Heavily Debloated
Lollipop Themed
Brighter Flashlight
Mobile Hotspot Hack
Sound Mods
Increased Battery Life
Kitkat SD Write Fix [Allows 3rd Party Apps To Write To SD]
Added FM Radio and stock Xperia Browser Apps that Verizon left out. [Use Earphones on FM Radio app for best results!!)
Future builds may include init.d support and stagefright patches. I had an earlier build of this with these installed and it seemed to cause a battery drain issue as well as impair the sound quality.
Prerequisites:
You must be rooted and running either build of Kitkat 4.4.4.
You must have the XZ Dual Recovery Installed. http://nut.xperia-files.com/
Reboot into TWRP. Make a backup!
Wipe System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik.
Install the ROM.
Enjoy! Let me know what you think... and say thank you!
For ROOT ACCESS, You must flash Chainfire's latest SuperSU flashable found here Latest SuperSU after the ROM installation.
Thank you to @zohaib0001 for the sound mods!! Original Thread
If you want louder headset volume, flash this after flashing rom. Louder Headset
To remove ALL sound mods and replace stock files, flash this. Restore Stock Sound

Works just fine if you flash not on .44, but it didn't keep root. Is this because of not being on .44?

I have no idea. That's odd! I am not surprised that it works for the older firmware since there is no kernel flashing, but I'm gonna reflash it on both firmwares and make sure root is ok. In the meantime though, it's no big deal just flash this in TWRP to get root http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
Ok, root issue is my fault. Rom isn't pre-rooted, but Original Post updated with easy root fix. For those who prefer KingRoot, the latest KingRoot apk would also root you quickly. Thank you @wellwhy for calling this to my attention! This is the kind of feedback I'm needing. Is everything working correctly for everyone? Are you guys enjoying the ROM so far? Keep me posted with your thoughts!! Thank you guys.

Yeah, works great. FM radio worked fine, and it seems stable throughout. Flashlight is definitely a lot brighter too. Only tiny dispute is I don't think the lollipop keys lit up blue, but that's just a small fuss that doesn't really matter. Nice work so far. Maybe you can somehow figure a way to get lollipop on this thing.
Hi, thanks you for your ROM, question: working in D6603? thnks.
You cook up rom to look like Lollipop, it says on your post...
First thing to look like lollipop it's status bar. I just recommend you to edit status bar look. No hate man :laugh:
So far, so clean, but I'm having a couple of issues.
I can't add cards to Android Pay, even after disabling SuperSU and using rootcloak. Also, I'm using the 5.3.19.19 Google app, which worked perfectly fine before flashing this rom, but now crashes every time I use the Google search bar on the GEL. Oh, and I can't access Developer options because it crashes every time I select it in the settings. And one last thing: since the Ron is deodexed, can ART be turned on? Other that that, this rom is very clean and I really appreciate your developmental work, man! Thanks!

I recommend you flashing a rom that's actually made for the D6603. The international variant offers a lot more variety, options, and support than what we have here with the D6708.

Did you do the full wipe of system, data, cache, and dalvik? If you did, did you restore data from an old backup on top of this rom? The only reason I ask is because the google app version in this rom is not 5.3.19.19, and the latest update from the play store is 5.2.19.19. Your issues seem to be stemming from a residual data conflict it sounds like.
Also there is no option to switch runtimes in Xperia Handsets on KitKat. We've never had that option, and we never will until and if we get lollipop. There's no libart.so file im system/lib, so sorry for now it's dalvik only...

I wiped cache and dalvik, but forgot to wipe system and didn't touch data. When I get the time, I'll TiBu my app data and go for a clean flash. Also, I got 5.3.19.19 from Android Police. It remained installed after I flashed this rom over stock, but after I noticed the search issues I uninstalled and reinstalled it and got the same problem. I'm sure a clean flash will solve it. And that's a bummer about the runtime, but I figured as much. Thanks for your time, Zach!

I think you will hard to port quick settings... I just mean for signal icons, battery icon ... not notification panel.
I had a problem after flashing that when someone would call me and I would put them on speakerphone they would hear a really bad echo of themselves, bad enough that I had 3 different people mention it to me. I figured this might have been related to the sound mods included in the rom so I flashed the restore stock sounds zip and the problem seems to have been fixed although I've only been able to test with one person. I would like to see if anyone else could replicate the problem
