So I'll be flashing different ROMs and some don't have the option....is this firmware related?
No, it's ROM functionality related. Some ROMs don't have Wifi calling hooks implemented.

Hi,
My wife needs wifi tethering on her Galaxy S but she can't use an unofficial ICS rom because she also needs the official Samsung dialer with video call feature.
Is there an official ROM (most recent value pack ?) which supports wifi tethering ?
Now there is JVU rom on the phone.
What is the shortest path for a wifi tethering rom with official dialer / framework ?

Use xwjw5. Tethering is available in this one. As in many other earlier stock roms. For quick ON/OFF feature you can use some Tethering widgets available in Market.
Hallo..
Are there any ICS Roms for the SGS that supports Wifi Direct?
I have not read it as a feature in any ROM thus far... but maybe you guys know of a ICS Rom that supports Wifi Direct.
It is an awesome concept... just sad that for this device up to now it still only is a "concept"..
I'm using fascinate with i9000 cm9 nightly's and glitch kernel, I have the settings, and I can enable it, but I had problems connecting with a laptop. I didn't really have the time to figure out the issue.
If I do get a yes or no answer if the kernel supports/rom can do it, I will post back here.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking at a way port radio section from a rom. I'm researching and get stuck at defining what is the folder of radio in a rom. I'm using Slimkat 3.10 and have weak signal in both wifi and cellphone broadcast. I read that we can flash stock radio to fix it.
Thank you for your helpings.

you don't port radios. A radio is not a ROM. you can flash different radios (see sbfs), but its already been discussed that some ppl don't see better signal performance with custom ROMs to include wifi

Nope. TMobile Wifi calling only available on stock. There may be some third party apps tho.
What about when Google brings the wi-fi calling update to Lollipop? When that happens, if we get a custom ROM, will the custom ROM be able to have wi-fi calling?
This is the only thing keeping me on the stock ROM. I L-O-V-E Cyanogenmod and other AOSP variants...but I need the wi-fi calling!
None of the SM-N910T(3) roms that are out there, based on DOG1, seem to have wifi calling working. I have heard this is related to a kernel issue. However, does anyone know of a 5.1.1. rom with wifi calling that works?
Flash this kernel and you'll be all good to go! http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/tw-kernel-emotroid-team-t2990557
I can't access this as the site is asking for a Google Verification code.
Maximum OvrDriVE 5.1.1 supports wifi calling out of the box, no special kernels or extra hacks needed.
